  1. Surprised no one is talking about the Edmonton police officer who was shot and killed this week. Is it because his killer was white and a libertarian?

    2. overthere

      overthere

the killer was a poor lost bastard who snapped, and the cop has the great misfortune to be present when he did.

It's a very tough job and I thank him and his colleagues for doing it so well

  2. *wanking motion* No one says you have to.
  3. So you don't actually know what we're talking about? Cool.
  4. And you make being incoherent look so effortless.
  5. If true (which I doubt), so what? It's still an emotional expression.
  6. So when a man gets mad and yells at an underling or colleague, that's not considered "getting emotional?"
  7. 11-Year-Old Boy Played in His Yard. CPS Took Him, Felony Charge for Parents. Read the whole thing. It's Kafka-esque.
  8. I think it's more about connections.
  9. I'd say men are socially conditioned to keep their emotional reactions hidden or given a more limited range of ways to express emotions (pretty much just anger). In other words: it depends on the circumstances, the emotion in question and, of course, what we mean by "emotional" anyway.
  10. Sure. That's what he meant.
  11. Again: in your example, someone would literally have had to cry for his point to be validated. Your initial point was, and remains, completely lazy and off the mark.
  12. Nope. I took the same logic you used in your post and applied it to a different scenario to show how absurd it was. Unless you can provide an example of someone literally crying over Hunt's remarks, you'r original post on the subject is the same old fatuous nonsense we've all come to expect from you.
  13. No idea why Solomon got axed while Amanda Lang still has a job. What a mess.
  14. That's your logic, though. Don't blame me because you got caught out spouting nonsense again.
  15. So I guess if he said "Jews control academia along with the rest of the world" and subsequently lost his job, that would also prove he was right?
  16. let's recap, shall we? You said: I asked why you were fine with one exchange of sex for goods/services but not another, a straightforward enough question. Your responded to that with: I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be disagreeing with here. Be more clear. Answer my question and maybe we can go from there.
  17. Highlight for spoiler: She does in the books.
  18. With what? You didn't answer the question.
  19. If cops are shooting people after they get arrested, that's an even bigger problem. But a few names off the top of my head: Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, John Crawford...
  20. Yes really. I don't even know how it can be argued otherwise.
  21. Well, if the show has taught us anything, it's that whatever choice she ends up making will be the wrong one.
  22. Uh: Ralph Kramden anybody? Besides, it's not women writing these oafish characters (who are, without fail, married to beautiful women with endless reserves of patience: hardly a progressive, feminist model). I don't buy either of these claims. Masculinity is also socially constructed. Because masculinity as it's been traditionally constructed is predicated on the submission of women.
  23. Depends on where she goes on Air Drogon. If she bails on the city, she's back to square one and everyone left behind is shit out of luck.
