I did not say "Christians are blowing themselves up to kill others and get virgins". I asked why MSM doesn't distinguish between Christians and radical Islam, and indeed on the difference between right and wrong. Sharkman, why are you attacking me?

I'm Jewish, but I agree with the Pope on this one. Media is afraid to tell it like it is.

Tories urged to name political donors
jbg replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/National Don't hold yer breath. Naming their donors would be death for Harper no doubt. Can you say USA? How many Harper threads have you started in last 48 hours? How are they different from each other? -
I will be watching with interest, and so should you. He's using an important anniversary to talk about a war that we're involved in.....you need to know what's being said in your name. I'm sure Harper will speak in simple, eloquent terms, unlike the bafflegab of the two prior PMs.

Ever notice that MSM does not believe in calling a spade a spade; this is pre-medieval nonesense. In general, certain radical Muslims seem to have a pre-adolescent mentality. They don't like women, they prefer sex with boys 16 or under, they have no concept of mature, self-restrained behavior in crowds (thus the stampedes).

Interesting. But connection to thread title?

MSM should not be confused with true Canadians. Most of them, in an earlier day, would have joined Louis Riel swinging from a rope.

$85,000 government poll to rate CPC policy popularity
jbg replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Seems awfully similar. Out of curiousity, no insult intended, what are your other interests in life besides Stephen Harper? -
Harper hires polling firm to guide his path on environment
jbg replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What nonsense. It is the first and only time it's been posted. Don't pollute the forum with your baseless complaints. I guess you're a bit sensitive. I said nothing directly about you. I used three-peat as a synonum for "hat-trick", not "hatrick". -
NDP- LAYTON "Invite Taliban to Peace Talks"
jbg replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well maybe September 11, 2001 was just an exciting day for them. -
Jones may have been mad; a coward he wasn't.

Sub-medieval all the way. Way to go, back before the age man domesticated his "best friend".

Canadians insult America (again)
jbg replied to America1's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I'm an American. I do not feel that way about Canada at all. They just elected the CPC; give them a break. -
Since when do fundamentalist Christians (stop using the offensive contraction, please) regularly blow themselves up to cause indiscriminate death. I am not Christian, but your comparison is vile.

If this book is the way you present it, I'm agreeing with you for probably the first time since I've joined. This is loopy.

Erosion of Democracy in America
jbg replied to Concerned's topic in Canada / United States Relations
For many reasons, that's a practical impossibility in our system. The last changeover of political parties was the implosion of the Whigs, replaced almost immediately by the Republicans. That occurred between the 1852 election and 1860. The constitutional structure of our country (nothing in the Constitution, but the way voting is held), and the way campaigns are financed, makes that almost impossible. In fact, the biggest problem is the knife-edge balance between the parties, characterizing each election since 1992 (except 1996, an incumbent blow-away). This tends to drive policies towards the center for both parties, notwithstanding rhetoric to the contrary. If one of the mainstream parties drifts too much, as the Democrats did in 2004, it is punished. -
Harper hires polling firm to guide his path on environment
jbg replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Didn't think so. Oh, well why didn't you say so. I'll post a topic on it for you. edit: you really should either stay informed or AT LEAST do a google search before sarcastically accusing others of posting innaccuracies. If you're interested in personal credibility, that is. Not needed. We don't need a three-peat or hat-trick on that topic. And not blaming 'Ricki Bobbi' either. -
It would be nice if the leftists and politically correct imbeciles would call this stuff about "virgins" what it is; medieval and murderous nonsense.

Too soon. While oil is down (relative to the past year only) gold is still not down. That is the commodity, IMHO, in combination with oil, that bears watching. I'd look for a rate cut if oil goes below $50 or gold below $500. In bits and pieces, during October. The preliminary numbers are often revised. Judging by the stock market's relative strength in the face of the Fed's rate increases, I do not see a recession soon. Remember, the stock market is a leading, not lagging, indicator.

Certainly, good for comic relief. I was thinking more along the lines of having a party that fights for the environment, downtrodden etc.... but ya good for a laugh as well. I get a few chuckles from the blatant hypocracies of the conservatives, and the liberals are such a mess it might just be mean to laugh...but I will anyways Yes im sure they are laughing too . . . .all the way to the bank. . . .they just love your sense of humour! And yours too, but I doubt you're a very funny person.

Canadians want government to meet Kyoto targets
jbg replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That would inconvenience Paul Desmairis and Maurice Strong greatly. -
Is that Canada's motto, the way "exelcior (sp)" is New York's motto?

Excuse my almost total ignorance of Canadian politics (I couldn't find the igloo in Ottawa on Parliament Hill). However, wouldn't the initial result of Green gains (at the expense of the NDP) to favor Liberal or CPC candidates? I thought FPTP would pretty much ensure that the Greens' reduction of NDP strength in any riding would boost the chance of other, less dissimilar rivals? Isn't that how Kim Campbell's PCPC went from somewhere in the 170's to 2 ridings in one day? 100% correct. Thanks. Wasn't sure just how good or bad my Yank (lack of) understanding of your politics is. Attempts by CPC shills to dismiss any commentary as "Harper-hating" and "bashing" are just getting more and more pathetic. It's sad when you get so defensive that you dismiss anything remotely resembling criticism (and even that which isn't criticism at all) as bashing. It looks like you're being overly defensive and, if so, why? The fact that MSM is so "knee-jerk" in its reactions demonstrates that there is a sizeable contingent that are institutionally suspicious of the CPC. It seems to this American that they represent a refreshing breeze in Canadian politics, one that many fear the way anaerobic bacteria fear oxygen.

he difference between racism and bias or prejudice
jbg replied to daddyhominum's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
At last we find something to agree upon. The purpose of the Charter of Special Rights, No Rights and Wrongs is to allow government to delineate rights and do only what is expressly permitted. It is the opposite of the British heritage of anything not forbidden being permitted. It is a malignant document. -
Really?? How so? What we have in Canada is a multitude of Canadians spinning toy steering wheels -- the kind that you attach to children car seats to give them the illusion that they are driving. Are you so confident that those issues can not be re-opened in the same way? I am amazed to learn that Riel was a quebecer.....Or that their is some question about the sovereignty of France...... Oops. Typo. You know and I know I meant Quebec sovereignty, not French sovereignty.
