This isn't about Joe. It's about America
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
1. Stinky troll: back to the fascist motherland. Now. 2. There's a way to resolve this and it has to happen soon now. Responsible, trusted Democrats must have a good long conversation with Joe: in his real condition, no prompts no plugs for real time interpretation. Then they have a discussion among themselves and come out with a single, clear statement: can he run the campaign, a real one difficult formats, exhausting physically etc to win. Sane America needs a candidate who can win, not for the memoirs "we tried". This isn't about Joe any longer and he must get it, one way or the other. He is not entitled to run; he isn't owed to by sane America. To earn its trust he has to prove that he can win this, nothing less. 3. So we will know that, can he run and can he still get that it isn't about him at this point. 4. Later, after winning the party has to have a long and hard conversation about how this has happened and why it cannot happen again. Or it could be the end of another sane party too. -
Translated to normal: You "provoke" a psycho by trying to be able to be safe from them. Psycho gets to decide who is allowed to be safe from them. They can feel hurt and overreact too, poor things. See it? Get it? This is a mob with a pure, distilled psycho mentality. They will accept and excuse everything and anything. This already happened in history. And we knew.

Lying boldface and not a twitch, just like their pathologically lying Idol-buffoon. What else? They would have us forget and abandon everything. They said it. They said it again and again. They'll cower and play with Devil himself to get hold of the power. Not like we didn't know. And the choice is, as always, ours.

No guarantees and that means that sane America needs more than just a candidate who would wash hands to go to the memoirs; not necessarily the one that was good four years ago. But the best one, now. If Joe thinks he is the best one and he can think soundly and responsibly now he will have responsibility to the history, nothing less. And if he cannot do that, the stakes being what they are, we absolutely cannot write it off to grandpa's obstinacy and wait patiently to see what happens. In that case, the people have the right to know. -
Well there you go: an open apology of abysmal brutality, violation of all and every norm and principle. New fascism in Europe in the plain sight and in our century. Just let them say it, they'll spill all hiding nothing. All of it, we saw and we knew. And notice how the little sneaky liar here subscribed to it. Hitler was misunderstood. He felt threatened and overreacted, poor thing. Aren't you already sympathetic, even a tiny-tidy bit?

Of Science, Morality and the Better World (with Crocodiles)
myata replied to myata's topic in Health, Science and Technology
Curiosity will get the better of us? Yeah sigh we all heard about atrocities and camps sigh yawn... but how about something cool, that alien f-ing centrifuge? Sounds so exciting and what if we only try (playing with it) yet again? -
And one more time of uncounted many I've stumbled on a sci fiction story in the undying genre of saving the world from an existential threat together. With the crocodiles. The first notable one that I can still recall was Carl Sagan's "The Contact" made into a well-known movie picture. The plot is always the same, with variation of decorations (this new one is actually entertaining, by the author of "The Martian"). An existential threat discovered (for credibility, interspersed with foreign-sounding names and programs). The humanity instantly forgets all divides (moral ones, included: in a flick, effortlessly and naturally, in those stories - what was the fuss, really?) and begins working together for the common goal. Iran, Russia, North Korea you name it, all come together in sweet scientific harmony. Human with a crocodile, what an idyll. For now, that is. Fun as it looks and feels one question is always left out and never comes to the fore: OK great; so, what's next? How does this change anything? What does and can it change in the DNA, and the psyche of the crocodiles? Two scenarios are possible, speaking scientifically. One: we did not succeed. Then, the harmony didn't come to much, the process (and reading) was fun though. Two, we succeed with a minor side effect that the crocodiles get the technologies and powers they couldn't have dreamed before. North Korea, Russia, Iran and the bunch all of a sudden obtained access to unseen and unprecedented alien technology. As they are, in all beauty. That has to be good, right? How is it possible, such an abysmal, glaring gap between advanced intelligence in one area, and a glaring gaping ignorance, no scratch it: an absolute void, vacuum of a glimpse of thought in the other? Which one is more important? Will it be a better universe if we, as we are, skip a few steps of technology? Now they are invading, burning and destroying countries, building prison camps on the national scale. But look, we could do it with planets! Wow and wow, amazing science! Ironic, as it looks. But given that the theme never seem to dry out there must be some lasting appeal, attraction to it. What is it? How?

Yes it's up to him and he has to think about it very carefully now. Because if he insists on forcing himself here and screws it up, it would be a failure of epic, historic proportions. It will go in the history for generations, the legacy Nothing like "we gave it our best" and now, for the memoirs. The world as we know it, may change. So he must know and understand that now, if he can still understand these things. -

Just forget it. Either you can't read or stop lying. Both, possibly. And in either case, discussions are pointless. -

This needs to happen now. He can't just keep sailing in his own reality. -

Of course people have their say in the elections. Are you dim or just lying? "Codification" of democracy is not a one time thing, but a continuous and ongoing responsibility and work of the citizens. No system, no empire lasts forever and everything requires attention and maintenance - even in your place, can you believe? -
The responsibility of the political system to the people is to produce the best candidates: those of the highest integrity; principles; reason; the ability to face crises and perform on top in them. It failed the country utterly and miserably on the both sides of the divide simultaneously. The politics in America are in tatters. There's no way to not see it anymore.

Who were the people who wrote American constitution? Citizens or "elite"? Democracy is not the rule of a mob. There is the law; principles; integrity and lines that cannot be crossed. -

This shouldn't concern dead brains, obviously. None of the three (dead) harmonics carry any meaning in these matters. -
Honestly: I don't have confidence that Joe can make decisions, from that perspective 1) rationally and 2) responsibly. I can be wrong and I admit it. Joe can be wrong and to remain on the side of sanity, he has to retain the ability to admit it. No one is above the reality. So, this is the way to resolve this. A gathering of individuals of honesty and integrity can have a long conversation with Joe and as a result, determine the best candidate to stand for the sane America. It can be Joe; or it can be someone else. The best candidate for America has to stand, and it doesn't have to be Joe. It's about America, its future and that of the free world. Too much is at stake for personal ambitions. The fate of democracy was always in the hands of its citizens. We used to know but we forgot.
