Modi looked into Putin's eyes and asked him to stop his war. Then he bought the record amount of oil from him, to pay for the war. What matters more? The words, or the act? Can we cheat the history, the evolution itself, with words? Its not so much about some text in some Charter they all read, in their own language and signed to. We know that words don't amount for much. It's about the world, of tomorrow. What would be India's story in the world where the new Axis of dictators risen to the max of its power, and would want this peace and that concession from it? Will it stand it ground, by itself and on its own? Could a few peanuts it saves now buying from war criminals assure its place in the future, where where are no rules or laws? Can we cheat the history, the evolution itself, with words? Like he would be the first one to try.

RFK Jr. considering endorsing Trump?
myata replied to CouchPotato's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's not about the name. He would be betraying his whole promise of the third way in a grotesque and ridiculous way and that could be the connection here: not unlike the leader of a democracy sworn to protect it peddling stupidly blatant lies of rigged election. The attraction by nature, and character. Not to mention that he would make himself abandon all that he stood for while being despised in the new camp working for crumbs and only for a while. No coming back, from there. Well, as of now its only hypothetical and its still in his hands. We will see. -

What’s Wrong With George Bush?

A good democratic leader does not lie to the people. No conditions. No explanations. An inch and budge, for any reason, is degradation. Where it leads is right before our eyes. There are no good lies. By any great one and for any reason. The take. -

Liar gave a speech? And you see no connection? Or only pretending to? -
Why do we need mass immigration again?
myata replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The problem is that Canada is not a democracy, deep in essence. It is not governed by the people in their interests but by enlightened elites for the people, in the ways that the elites believe right for the little folk and never forgetting their own interests. To get the formal democratic stamp of legitimacy the elites need the look that everything is mostly OK. Any minor shakeup like Covid shows that it's only a pretense. They really are clueless and care mostly about themselves. There may not be another first world democracy where government elites were so much isolated from the realities and interests of the population. -

If nothing matters, then nothing matters. The end and the beginning, or rather in it. Of course liars and thugs would be perfectly fine with that. On each turn of the roulette they would have a good chance. -

Never mind, whatever party. Just voting would be accepting the thing as the new normal and why it wouldn't become it? -

No, can't use that escape. Your party (however it happened and sh*t happened to other ones too like Clinton) set out an informal poll, plebiscite if you will: this is the thing. We need your approval (the people's) to make it the new normal in our politics from here on. The statement that was made publicly on behalf of the party, via due process and so they can either disown it, in some way but publicly too, or accept it openly or tacitly and that's how it will be interpreted by the people and history. -

Never mind, I agree that there are Republicans who have integrity and principles to oppose the degradation. I was just hoping there would be more of them. It's clear of course that anybody who wouldn't or couldn't find a way to speak out now, will not be able to explain it out later. Speak out or accept it as the new normal, tacitly or explicitly matters not one bit. -

This is one of the funniest things I'm reading in while . And kissing all over the orange a$s whatever new idiocy it decides to fart is called there, what? Not "critical thinking" just in case? Seriously curious! .. what would be the number of your Universe by the way? -
Trump Sinks to a New Low
myata replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Currently, there are almost 4 billion videos on YouTube. This marks an increase of almost 1 billion videos in 2023 alone, given that there were 3.08 billion videos on YouTube at the end of 2022. Make your calculation (warning: requires a working brain). -

Insanity, when it settles in pushes away and out anything that is sound and sane. It's just the only way it can exist. Democrats shouldn't parade Bill though. He's the past and stinks of many things. -

Lying is just that: there are no explanations. -
Probably not. Still, she is speaking her mind openly about something she has seen from her own name. This is nothing like posting anonymous lying memes and peddling blatant lies, like "rigged election". These are just two different things, and behaviors. Yes one can say something important to the people even if it wasn't or cannot be confirmed as an objective fact. But if and when one is spreading lies deliberately there's a good term for it: liar.

I wouldn't advise the Democrats to parade Clinton (Bill) though. He is not a good leader; a good leader should not and does not lie to the people. That even may have started the whole lying track that is unwinding right before our eyes with the end - if not halted, right in the third world. Just leave him in the past where this kind of behavior belongs. Thinking with your d*ck, not head? Zero responsibility? No: just say it. And say it again, firmly if he insists. Sure, it goes both ways. -
Yes, it's not an objective fact as there may not have been witnesses. But an individual said it openly in front of the country, so it can be taken as a possibility that is well aligned with other observations and objective facts. So this is nothing like reposting a lying meme, pretending that it had anything to do with the truth. Agree?

Why would one want to be kidding if we already know from the history that there are no boundaries of common sense, decency or even ridiculous down this path?

Brainless cult, or "basement dwellers", in the lying Idol's own words? What's a better fit?
-
Wonderful orange liar called his followers "basement dwellers" in private. I betcha Putin calls his serfs something like that. And why not? No really name one reason.
-
Former White House press-secretary Stephanie Grisham: Grisham then accused the former president of mocking his supporters in private, saying: “He calls them basement dwellers. On a hospital visit one time, when people were dying in the ICU, he was mad that the cameras were not watching him. He has no empathy, no morals and no fidelity to the truth.” Wait and I thought it was another guy, what was it, Goebbels? No credits, really? "It doesn’t matter what you say, Stephanie, say it enough and people will believe you" He has "no empathy, no morals and no fidelity to the truth" Sounds like you regular neighborhood guy you know? There's nothing here we couldn't see.

Putin is always on the ticket. No, cluelessness is never a virtue. Especially if voluntary and cheerful. But this really demonstrates the central issue here: the cult has neither a clue nor respect for democracy. It is not something it understands or needs. We have to be aware of it; and make our choices responsibly. Because we know from the history that in these cases, there may be no fallbacks and belated revelations.
