  1. The reality cannot be blown out of lying cheeks and lips. That feat just isn't in their power. And so, we will see him standing up to the thug or cowering to him. One or the other, the only options. Which one? We'll just have to see.
  2. The stakes were raised high and this one will be truly telling now: what will the "solution" be? Will it stand to an aggressive maniac of our time, or concede and submit to him? One can blow it both ways sure and always, words can't complain. But it can't be walked both ways, here's the thing. And so, it'll be one or the other. And we'll know and see it: soon. Will the fairy tale come true? Let's see it. We will see and have to.
  3. Split personality cannot go on forever. The choice was between leaving the past behind, abandoning it consciously and by choice; or embracing it. That choice is made now. Precedents and new normals set and created. Anyone can be the present. Cults can run governments. We cannot argue the reality, what's done is done no unsaying it, zero chance of walking back. But sure, it's a new reality here, before us. No denying, ignoring or refusing to admit it. The reality always catches up. Bring it on.
  4. You know I have to apologize now as I reread the history. Hitler's invasion of Austria was clearly used as the blueprint for Putin's annexation of Crimea and the subsequent war. History repeats itself and we're failing to learn its lessons. Doesn't look encouraging. The Anschluss
  5. A sign of the post-reality world? Yeah we're bound to see more of it. Remember: we chose it.
  6. The process of corruption and decay of democracy is always the same. For the record. Progressive elites are detached and disconnected. Their choices are increasingly ineffective and irrelevant to the society. Instead of understanding and focusing on the society's problems they create imaginary quests and agendas: trans, immigration, masks, any number of examples. Biden's nomination, a disaster. A failure of responsibility. Traditionalist elites fail to offer any positive directions and become essentially anti- whatever the progressive side is after. In the environment of increasing polarization and stagnation, disengagement and frustration of the population grows dramatically. Extreme movements emerge, followed by ademocratic and anti-democratic cults. In the political environment that offers few meaningful alternatives, large part of the society falls for charismatic demagogue leading authoritarian cult. Nothing new here. If the initial popular support of the cult should be taken as indication of its goodness then Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot have to be the moral pillars and saints of the brave new world. Only the logic, try to argue it. The next stage isn't that difficult to predict: the corruption and folding of democratic institutions. In Germany it took less than a decade. U.S. is larger and more diverse so we'll have to see. But what could stand in its way and halt it? Nothing obvious but we'll have to see. Predictions and prophesies add very little in such times. Warning bells were ringing for a while now, but what use are they, if the subject is confused and paralyzed? And so, nothing is obvious for a long perspective ahead. Bring it on: we chose it.
  7. .. or the evolution takes care of the consequences. We can choose whatever we like. We can even convince ourselves to not think of them. One thing that isn't in our power is to cancel the reality. It always catches up. America's choice will define it for a long, long time now. If it finds a decent way our of here, then... wow. Not many in the long long history managed to though. Only for the objective record.
  8. Democracies can vote to end themselves. That is an easy, entropy-friendly option that's always there and on by default. Freedom is a choice, and responsibility. To keep it, is work, responsibility and vigilance. And we are too far down the highway of Time to pretend that we didn't know or understand the consequences.
  9. In 1938, Austrians voted in the Anschluss referendum to join Hitler's Germany. For all we know, the vote was voluntary, "democratic" one could say today although some incidents of intimidation were reported. The choice was made and entered into the records of history. See, with the choices of this kind, what's said is said and what's done is done. They define the path and reflect the nature. They cannot be unsaid, unvoted - and undone. For a time, we suspected that something was going on with America, with the incurable divisions, vitriol and hatred, the style and essence of politics. But those were only symptoms of something deeper: the change of nature. Can one vote for Hitler today, and four years on, have a change of heart and join the coalition? Does democracy work like that, simple and innocent? No fools here and no naive: we know the answer. Who votes is important. Their values, and principles - who they are, dictates their choices. We looked in the mirror: and now, we know. This was an important exam and the results are in. America today is not the same place, the country and democracy of the founding fathers, battles and victories of WWII and the space age. It moved on, its values and its nature has changed. We knew the options and we chose, there were no innocents or naive. The results are in and they are both factual and final. The citizens test. Let's see what happens next: we must also know, deep inside that something new will be happening, as our nature changed and as we know it. No, it won't be the same - some choices go deep, define and decide. A brave new world, so be it? Bring it on. We chose it.
  10. Examples of authoritarian personality cults are right before our eyes. There are no mysteries here: the cult will consume you whole till nothing of independent thought, value and principles, dignity and integrity remains. This as it was and will be if you make the choice: conscious and in full knowledge, no escapes and excuses, to part with sanity. We have a choice to make, and it's ours.
  11. When we come to believe that violent undemocratic cults are "not a big deal", we are investing in our future. And I hate to repeat that simple, entirely obvious thing here: at this time, today we know exactly what it would look like. No way we couldn't have know. Not a single chance in the universe.
  12. Shameless entitlement of FPTP governments to bribe citizens with their own money is the primary cause of disillusionment and detachment of the population from the democracy. Look we know it's only a show hardly anything to do with us. Look, we have this great new "dental plan" for ya! Wow, where do I apply? Wait it's now for 0 to 7 or over 85 but wait for the next phase in 2119! Muzak! What happens next? Is it any secret?
  13. CBC was a shameful parody of a responsible and objective source information at that period with incessant fear-mongering including peddling quasi-vaccines to very young children, never recommended or even approved in more responsible jurisdictions. This couldn't be a small matter in a real, responsible democracy but nothing happened, just doing jobs getting the paycheck and who should care about the truth. Shameful. No excuses. To be fair, to my knowledge, none of the mainstream media in Canada were able to retain integrity and objectivity on this matter.
  14. There are no revelations or surprises here. This time, we know all. Only a citizen's test.
  15. To all and anyone who still want to keep blowing from both ends of their mouth, working their hardest trying to convince themselves and others that this is only normal politics if a bit unorthodox: not a chance. Not a one, single chance in the Universe and you knew it. Now. You will not control it, you can't and instead the cult will consume you whole, all of of you, from the brain, throat to intestines. Till nothing is left, of you. Till you can think and do nothing but hollering Worship, worship Him holy osannah! and/or Anathema, wherever it and its idol point you. That is a fact of reality, confirmed and verified. This is how it happened before: verified. And so if you still have a few working cells in your brain you suspected that much and you know it now, with certainty. It means that you can still make the sane choice. And should you pick the other path, that of abandoning sanity itself you admit here and now, that you knew and chose it willingly, consciously and deliberately. No squiggles, escapes, excuses this time around, no "but we thought it was only politics". Not a chance. You knew it, you knew everything and you will be fully accountable for your choices before history and posterity. Can't be any clearer than that. These aren't innocent toys to play with on a whim. We saw and knew the consequences.
  16. Parting with sanity will catch up. We know everything. Tucker Carlson: I was attacked by a demon while sleeping.
  17. Non-democracy cult is turning anti-democracy, just like the last time: Republicans prepare to reject election results, the Guardian. Democracy is not a wishing well. We knew everything and the choice is ours.
  18. There are no explanations or excuses for handing over the reason and responsibility. Democracy is not a wishing well, not a magic wand but shared responsibility of free citizens. The problems exist and they are real; but that cannot be the reason to abandon sanity and go dancing to the beat of lying prophets. In the entire course of history that path never solved anything. So citizens have a choice to make. It has nothing to do with politics, policies, ideological, political and other stripes but mostly with: the reason, sanity and responsibility. We know everything and the choice is ours. Only the citizens test.
  19. This is an undemocratic cult. It does not need democracy: it's perfectly OK with replacing it with their non-stop-lying guru idol. No avoiding this conclusion now. Our choice matters. MAGA preparing to undermine the election if Trump loses
  20. There's a difference between the truth and the lies. Between honesty and deception. Between principles and everything goes to get me to that chair. Democracy is not a given nor is it a gift. It is a work and responsibility of the citizens. Democracies arise when citizens realize that reason, freedom, dignity and responsibility matter. And they can can cease when we forget that. And so, there's a choice to make. And the choice is ours.
  21. Simple and short answer: it gave in, conceded itself to an undemocratic, authoritarian cult. Playing with cults has many risks. We were warned about it many, many times over, by different people and with many examples. And now it came to America. No one is immune. Democracy is not immune and will not last if reason and responsibility are abandoned.
  22. These people rejected the will of the people expressed in free democratic election. They scorned and diminished independent justice, one law for everyone. Question: what do they know of democracy? What can they say about it? We have the reason, brains and memory to remember and see past any lying words.
  23. We have brains, memory and the reason. They exist for a reason - they aren't just words. "Has highest respect for the office"? But not for the rule of law? Not for the independent justice system? Not for free and democratic elections? This is not called a leader of a democratic nation. There's a proper word for it: dictatorship. Every single dictator adores his chair, as long as he can sit in it forever. No scares, and why would one need any exaggerations? All is in plain sight and their own words. Let's see it for what it is: a thirst and quest for uncontrolled power. Not bound by any rules, conventions, traditions or principles. America's first. The choice is ours and it's a free choice. But as always in grown up life, choices have consequences. We know everything.
  24. Memory; right and wrong; truth; the reason; integrity and honesty: they aren't just words. They exist and make difference. That is the reason why they exist.
  25. I will not try to point to or condemn anyone here, rather observe. In a few short decades since the last war, where nothing was assured and guaranteed (but we forgot) we got used to consumer, shopping mall understanding and attitude to politics democracy itself. Push the button here, sigh there and expect the result in the mail. But nothing says anywhere that it's bound to work this way and would work forever. That we will be able to sign off the responsibility, forward all the important choices to someone else somewhere and still enjoy a prosperous free democratic society. Maybe it doesn't work that way. What if the reason and responsibility of the citizens is the very basis and foundation of democracy? What if they cannot be shrugged away, signed off and avoided in any other way? And so, all is before our eyes and everyone has a choice to make. Not celebrities, not the papers for us: I, me, and everyone of us, based on their memory, reason, integrity and principles. There are times in history when this responsibility of a citizen simply cannot be avoided. And so, not WP. Nowhere to point to. Us, we, I and you and he and she. No excuses and distractions at this point in history. We have a choice to make and it will determine our path forward, from here. That much, we know.
