FPTP is extreme danger in uncertain and volatile times
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Right because we know.. wait, how exactly? It's called "the chaos mode". And it won't be wished or ignored away. "Simple" doesn't mean "best". Never in this, real world things that work and survive are promised and guaranteed to be simple. -
F-ing lying hypocrites! Is Hitler a hitler or only a genius? Figure that one out first. Good luck.

FPTP is extreme danger in uncertain and volatile times
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is one of the best here. Let it just remain for the posterity. And for the reality: all of the democratic world, with exactly two exceptions, is using a different system. The UK is an exception, history-level: it has the first democratic system in the modern world; it lasted almost a millennium: the first ever, in history. The USA is an exception: the foundations of its democracy were established in the post-medieval world, before the age of Empires in Europe. It was designed thoughtfully and meticulously, with effective framework of checks and balances checking and preventing abuse and usurpation of power. Still, it is approaching the state of an extreme partisan division and paralysis, as we can observe in real time. And Canada, in comparison was never a democracy. The governments simply never had earned the necessary popular support through open and honest competition, rather than fancy counting tricks. This is the reality. Simple. If it doesn't have the majority of votes, all votes, it cannot be a majority. Fancy tricks are just that, tricks of paper and finger. They cannot count for anything real. -
No one can be fooled by Putin's bravado: he's shut firmly into a corner and the survival of his brutal regime is tied to continuation of his brutal war. He counts and bets on only one outcome or gift: concessions from Ukraine and the world community. Concessions about what though? The right to invade, rob and kill at will? For all tyrants and dictators, today and any point in the future? Putin has set out to create this future and install it. He is counting on your indecision and weakness. Understand that. It's about way more than Ukraine.

FPTP is extreme danger in uncertain and volatile times

Enough of that nonsense, already. In this age, and century a government cannot be democratic unless it is supported by the majority of voters. No mambo jumbo voodoo moodoo fancy counting. Votes. Every one of them is counted and counts. Simple. The right and the one way, only. Hand tricks, don't count. Fake "landslides", not a bit. Prerogatives and privileges assigned upon themselves (aga grabbed) based on non-existent, phantom, faked "majorities" count for nothing in a real, responsible citizens democracy of today. Easy. We, citizens can see it, and decide it. No more nonsense. -
Just look, no need to go far. Folks are pretty fed up with pompous prolific talkers that this generation of Liberals appears to be. Quite understandably. But what is the fix, the alternative? We "vote", the other bunch gets 41% and all of a sudden, it's a "landslide". You came to h-te this full of self face here so you just have to love that other one, there. Right? Makes sense? But wait, there's more. They'll take that "landslide" 41%, in a normal political system not enough to form a government why would it, not a majority and not even close and push it down your throat like you prayed and danced for everything they say, enthusiastically. Not because you were bored and disappointed with the other guy, no. Because all of a sudden you developed a deep and trusting affair with them, handing them you checkbook, and keys to the future. That's how they will see it, and no other way. This is how they made this cute system for themselves, over the decades and centuries. You thought that supporting principles and justice was important? Forget it. Not our business, you voted. You thought that lying for lying, and power sake is wrong? Forget it. The lying Clown possibly soon, convicted felon is our best friend. You thought that the state has no business in ideology? No, it has to be the right kind of ideology. This house of cards pseudo democracy is becoming more dangerous by the day. And there will be no miracles. That much you know.

Ten reasons why Socialism is wrong.
myata replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Funny, from conservatives who are looking to control and dominate. The opposites attract, guessing. or.. stay with me, could it be essentially, one and same thing? The tokens, cliches different but in essence? We get to decide everything. You have no choice but to obey, and worship. -
Putin: Another Napoleon, Hitler? Another Thirty Years War?
myata replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
That's some serious psychiatry going here. Let's see: Napoleon (nineteenth century; the age of empires), "a psychopath". Putin: 21st century, post WWII the age of rules-based international law, is not. Only a czar, whatever. Same level of casualties, by the way. And counting, daily. Now: who is a p- no let's spell it, psychopath-leaning here? Just give us your honest, objective opinion. The medical facts are on the plate. -
From the River to the Sea - Apologist Meaning
myata replied to WestCanMan's topic in The Rest of the World
The reason this topic is so popular with would be right wingers - conservatives is that it is ambiguous: one can fish long, and hard in the muddy waters, and the longer and harder the fishing goes, the longer one can talk and preach. Take another example though: a sovereign independent nation, fully recognized in its sovereign borders by the UN and the entire world; peaceful, never attacked anyone; a victim of an aggression of unprecedented since the times of WWII malice and brutality, and look: where are the principles, the rightful indignity? They just steamed and fizzled miraculously, like from a punctured balloon. What happened dears? Is Hitler a hitler or a "genius"? Can you figure that one out, before heading into the new rightful crusades? Why? There's one easy explanation: this folk couldn't care less about the Jews and Palestine, no more than "babies" another favorite topic of theirs. All they really care about is the control and power. If you're are naive or stupid to take a single word of their for a true coin you will regret it, and probably, pay long and hard for it, the stupidity, based on long and painful experience. A bunch of pumped up liars and hypocrites, and this is just the objective facts, reality. -
Conservative is not a solid whole, it's a mix. And at least one tribe, a current in it never accepted the democracy for real, as a foundation and necessity in a modern civilized society - only as a mean to advance to power. Their ideas and ideals about the power, not democracy. "If conservatives could not get to the power democratically, they will not abandon conservatism, but the democracy". More than a phrase, it's playing out right before our eyes. For a time, they were held in check by the other group, formal and educated, for which principles and the Constitution did matter. But they despised it, for staring down on them and for unnecessarily in their view, reservations resulting, in their view, in weakness. And then they figured out that by shouting loud and thumping they themselves could rule. They muzzle and suffocate the others, kick out the principled ones, and bring everybody to the heel. Perfect unity, 100% approval. You thought it was from another story? But what if the opposites attract - and converge, eventually, in a perfect harmony.

These times are going from troubling to outright frightful. A weak leadership visibly worried and scared of every tiny step, taking forever for decisions that were needed yesterday, years ago.. is this the way to stand up to a new Axis of brutal dictators rising? They see it all, every twitch and shake. We thought it was about chanting never again and odes to joy.. but the reality is more simple and stark: the Time always comes back with questions, and challenges. And the moment you're weak of heart and resolve to face and overcome them, you fade. It was like this, because it's the law of time and evolution. Try to convince it otherwise. Find wise, great words that will move it.

Putin: Another Napoleon, Hitler? Another Thirty Years War?
myata replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
Did you sleep for over two centuries of history? We have the international law now; rules-based order (had). One cannot just "go", invade and conquer other people's land. We were supposed to be past that. Supposed, that was the word. Or maybe, they can. It's the facts, the reality that matters not the words. -
It looks ironic to me: two years back Putin set off to defeat West, to degrade, diminish and eventually destroy it. It's not to Ukraine he was setting his ultimatums, to EU and NATO. And look, now after all the great talking, lecturing and posturing. Did he know something, after all? Does the new nuke Axis: Russia; Iran; North Korea know it? We will see it very shortly. There's nothing left here that can be said but cannot be seen, in the reality.

If WWII period Conservatism was anything like today's the war would have gone to Hitler. And Europe. And the US, locked by the Axis in its little corner of the world, if not invaded. Trump, Orban, Poilievre, Fizo, the entire Republican party under the heel. These are facts, more than coincidences. Thatcher and Reagan, perplexed. Try to argue that.
-
Exactly. You can, and will say anything whatever suits your ends. There's no service in this world to prove every of the boldface lies wrong one by one, and I've no interest in wasting my time. Moving on.

There's no point in discussing anything with patented liars. They wouldn't be interested in understanding or establishing truth, only pumping more of their lies. Obviously.

Your fantasies for a meaningful answer? Only in your fantasy world.

"Biden signals readiness for a compromise with the Congress" "Biden calls on Republicans to not give a Christmas gift to Putin" Joe: you are a great, wise talker. But words do not make result, even the smallest of them. Your great words will go for nothing, if there's no result Joe. I'm telling you this now so that it's perfectly, crystal clear now and there's no room, anywhere even in the decades and generations, for great reasons and solemn explanations. It has to be clear now, Joe.
-
"Controversy". Liar.
-
Wait, how do you know it? Promised, to who? Where can it be seen, the promise? Your buddy Putin whispered it to you, secretly?
-
All of the above is explanations, 20/20. Not Ukraine: it's the West has declared great principles, law and order, "never again" repeated and chanted for decades and generations. Unprecedented invasion followed by illegal "annexation", right in the center of Europe, unprecedented in post-war history. Time to show the act, the true meaning of great words. The reaction? None, ridiculous by the scale of the violation. It's not about Ukraine how do you fail to see it? It's about you, what you do and are. If you say something aloud, once, twice and a million times but in reality do the opposite, a million times, what's your word worth, and you? Putins, Xis and all kind of dictator scum today and future ones, know it naturally, see it exactly for what it is: pompous, self-indulgent weakness, of will and act. There's no cure for that. Pretty words are nothing to them, they'll wipe their dictatorial arses with all the tons of great words West likes to preach so much and set it on the table of the great world meeting, for the fragrance. And you won't even notice! Because you said it so much and for so long that you forgot the difference, between empty words, and the act, the result. Guess what miracles can happen in such cases? The dinosaurs know.
