70th Anniversary of liberation of Buchenwald

Holocaust deniers like to come on such threads and detract. You really think Taxme is interested in anything other than holocaust denial because he hates Jews? Don't waste your intelligence on him. -
70th Anniversary of liberation of Buchenwald
Rue replied to cannuck's topic in The Rest of the World
You now twice feel it necessary twice to state other people other than Jews died in the holocaust. Interestingly no one suggested or stated otherwise. Your need to state the above lends to the appearance you are trying to engaging in a passive aggressive exercise of downplaying the significance of why and how Jews were targeted and died in the holocaust. Show some integrity and start a thread denying or trivializing the holocaust. I am sure Taxme will join you. -
Its official, Trump broke the law
Rue replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This just in: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/newspolitics/charities-steered-dollar65m-to-trump-lawyer-sekulow-and-family/ar-BBZwQe5?ocid=spartandhp: Even the lawyer Trump hires blurs the distinction between partisan and non partisan activities so he can use a charity foundation to avoid paying income taxes. Pathetic. -
Its official, Trump broke the law
Rue replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Your first sentence is illogical. The Democrats did what they were constitutionally permitted to do. The Republicans first denied Trump engaged in a quid pro quo, then when evidence showed he did and more was coming, switched from denying he engaged in a quid pro quo, to a "so what" defense arguing he can without limit engage in quid pro quos. It didn't stop there-with the exception of two Republican Senators, now the entire Republican senate would have us believe their oath to engage in a neutral impeachment process can be violated because they can use quid pro quo. You see no irony in the fact that the very Republican supporters of Trump so quick to deny he engaged in a quid pro quo engaged in quid pro quo to abandon and abdicate their roles as US Senators they took an oath to uphild. Better still you portray McConnell as kicking ass. Lol. In this prison Mitch is a bottom boy or beeyatch. Aint nothing kick ass about bein a butt boy BC.. WCome on down from la la land all that koolaid drinkin and get real girl. Mitch bein someone's butt plug aint kickin ass... its given ass. Man that smile on Mitch's face after bein plugged by Donny in prison, its down right creepy man. You worship dat? Yowza. Mitch gonna be leakin for weeks probably right up to his next election. But he probably don't care. He gonna retire and hand his suit over to some new boy stains and all. -
You are assuming the above. We could also assume the above with anyone from anywhere where the social, economic, political, religious or weather conditions would be different than Canada's. And so? "Easier" is a a relative term. The fact is most immigrants who came or come to Canada have issues integrating. How does anyone measure an immigrant's degrees of difficulty integrating compared to another immigrant's? What criteria would you use to measure their difficulty against one another? I think its safe to say all immigrants do not necessarily find it easy when they come to Canada for many reasons and its not where they come from but their expectations before they come and their ability to deal with change once they come that dictates the degree of their difficulty integrating so assuming religion or geographic site are precursors of their degree of adjustment may not be accurate. I would further suggest this inaccuracy because we know that people who came from the same womb and/or identical social-economic-political- environments or geographic sites and/or religions are not all the same.
-
You keep saying that but how do you screen for people who respect women? Having criteria to respect women is not the issue and never was. Being able to screen for people with this respect is. Everyone has an opinion of what they want in an immigrant but when it comes to the actual screening process for it , no one gives any thought to howto do that.
-
The biggest need is exchange of information between countries that can get to the Canadian Border Security Officer at the Port of Entry so that when he does the initial two stage screening interview (which is of course not in depth) he or she is better equipped to look for red flags In that regard facial recognition programs where you plug someone's face into a program to see if it matches known terrorist or criminal faces is expensive software. DNA testing using the same principles also can be done. Both those kinds of screening are the most accurate but I am not sure how it could be to do them with everyone entering Canada. All I know is we rely on the Canadian Border Security Officers right now on the front lines with their two stage screening which is as they will tell you the best we have and so they would like better intelligence or security background info to help them look for red flags and that then gets into a dollar and cents argument about how much money the government wants to spend on such software.
-
Yes unfortunately.

I have found this information that might help on the topic and it is not for one or the other "sides" of this debate but for all of you: https://fullfact.org/news/are-asians-disproportionately-represented-prosecutions-sex-offences/ https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/crime-justice-and-the-law/courts-sentencing-and-tribunals/prosecutions-and-convictions/latest https://fullfact.org/crime/what-do-we-know-about-ethnicity-people-involved-sexual-offences-against-children/ https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/what-do-we-know-about-the-ethnicity-of-sexual-abuse-gangs Objective statistics as to ethnic identity of rapists is not easy to find. Then again any accurate stats on sex crimes is hard to find because the problem with gathering any kind of statistics on sex crimes is the fact that the majority of them are never reported meaning any stats that are recorded can not ever be accurate for that reason.

Should Canada Continue to Allow Full-Term Abortion?
Rue replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Here are the stats on rate of abortion by gestation stage: https://www.arcc-cdac.ca/backrounders/statistics-abortion-in-canada.pdf https://abort73.com/abortion_facts/canadian_abortion_statistics/ Z am I wrong..I get the idea from your thread you believe that because an abortion is no longer a criminal offence, late term pregnancies are simply a matter of asking for one. Its not the case at all: https://maggiegordon.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/gestational-limits-on-abortion-in-canada-disproving-anti-choice-rhetoric/ -
No one asked the Senate to do the job of the House of Reps. That would make no sense. The "jobs" or roles in the impeachment process are completely different. All anyone has asked is for the Republican Senators to do their job. They said they will not because they feel their partisan views give them justification NOT to do their jobs.
-
How is that possible? The US Republican Senators refuse to hear evidence and witnesses. How can they assess something they refuse to hear? More to the point, as to the evidence they were given, what damn difference does it now make? The US Senators all made it clear before they assessed anything they had already made up their minds that they would protect Trump regardless of what the evidence showed.
-
The current impeachment process allows a partisan vote to prevail yes. That doesn't mean automatically because of this feature, Senators should be impartial and not properly assess and review all relevant witnesses and evidence. In fact the oath Senators take swearing to be impartial at an impeachment trial contemplates they do not simply act blindly in an impartial manner.
-
You can try engage in a semantic argument about what whether what Trump did was a crime or not, but the issue remains, whether his actions constituted acts creating the grounds for impeachment and in that regard the House of Reps most certainly provided evidence for those acts. It doesn't matter what you want to call what he did, what matters is whether it is impeachable in the Senate and we will never truly know because Mitch McConnell bragged two months before the proceeding he would make sure he and his fellow Republicans would violate their oath to be impartial and engage in partiality to prevent any impartial consideration of evidence let alone the admission of evidence and witnesses and that they have done. They have made a travesty of a process which my nature was supposed to be impartial. If anything this shows that the US elects leaders who have contempt for fair processes of determination.

What is it with people in cults and their need to utter their mantras over and over again. Hari Krishna Krishna Krishna to you BC. You can repeat that mantra to try block out the world all you want but it won't go away. Your comment above is misleading. The fact that the impeachment trial is carried out by US Senators who are by nature partisan does not mean they have no obligation to carry out their duties during an impeachment trial in an IMPARTIAL MANNER. Please start with your own Supreme Court of the US in the case of United States v. Rumely, 345 U.S. 41, 43 (1953),. which stated: "It is the proper duty of a representative body to look diligently into every affair of government and to talk much about what it sees. It is meant to be the eyes and the voice, and to embody the wisdom and will of its constituents. Unless Congress have and use every means of acquainting itself with the acts and the disposition of the administrative agents of the government, the country must be helpless to learn how it is being served; and unless Congress both scrutinize these things and sift them by every form of discussion, the country must remain in embarrassing, crippling ignorance of the very affairs which it is most important that it should understand and direct. The informing function of Congress should be preferred even to its legislative function." Now also try to remember ( keeping in mind you and your Trump cult do not give a damn about what any court of laws) at the beginning of the impeachment trial of Donald Trump in the Senate, as you are well aware, the Senators (100 of them) took an oath and swore before Chief Justice John Roberts that, and I quote: " in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of Donald John Trump, president of the United States, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help me God." I appreciate in your cult world, you try block out the external world and pretend it does not exist but its time you cultees get a grip. The fact is BEFORE the impeachment trial back in December, Senator Majority leader Mitch McCnonell bragged the following and I quote: "I'm not an impartial juror. This is a political process. There's not anything judicial about it," and then repeated: " I would anticipate we will have a largely partisan outcome in the Senate. I'm not impartial about this at all." source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/01/16/impeachment-senators-pledge-impartial-justice-trump-trial/4488539002/. This is why people in the US who don't exist in your world may find the above conduct outrageous. They consider what McConell and Republican Senators are doing doing is an abdication of their constitutionally required duties and this is precisely why the non partisan lobby group Public Citizen's Congress watch, filed a public complaint and its representative Graih Holman stated: "Holding a kangaroo court not only mocks the institution of the Senate but it also does no favors for Trump." https://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2020/01/13/ethics-complaint-alleges-mcconnell-may-have-violated-rules-senate-impartiality I love it. You Trump cultists in one breath call the House of Representative Red Chinese and communists but then on the other have no problem with Senators violating their oath and subverting their constitutional requirement to be impartial and act like clapping monkeys for their glorious leader. You see nothing unethical in that. Your entire argument comes down to,.....people can be unethical, abusive, act in a clear and open conflicted manner because of partisanship and once someone is elected as President, they can do what ever they want. In your fantasy cult worship of Trump you see no possibility A President can violate the law, act in a conflicted manner, act in an unethical manner, circumvent the role of his own investigative agencies, order foreign countries to investigate his political opponents and violate the most and basic fundamental principles of democracy, that we must separating elected officials from influencing their civil service for partisan purposes., in your world the term "justice" does not mean to act in an open, transparent, accountable, reasonable and fair manner, it simply means, what courts do....the same courts whose directions on what the impeachment process requires you won't acknowledge. It is quite conceivable the above and other lobby groups will after this fiasco is completed join the above group and challenge what has happened. You have a majority leader bragging two months before the impeachment process he would violate his oath and prevent the process from being impartial... ...but hey in your world this is fine... in your world the Senate is a puppet chamber to do Trump's bidding....and hey to you cult followers that is not communism, that is not totalitarianism, that's not a dictator protected by a puppet chamber, that's democracy and anyone who questions the Glorius Leader King Donald The First, Glorius Beloved Most Exalted Unquestioned Commander of the Nation of Budwaiser Beer is a communist. Lol. Well as the song goes...look at all the monkeys sitting in a row
-
They would have been and could have been if the elected members chose to look the other way. That is the point. The Senate not just the House of Representatives have a Constitutional obligation to safeguard the democratic process by holding the President accountable for his behaviour. If these elected assemblies abandon the role then yes there necessarily is a dictator, i.e., a person in power with no checks and balances to assure he does not abuse his powers. The legal argument of Trump's lawyers is "privilege" allows him unlimited powers. This means its even more crucial the Senate and House of Representatives understand their role must be to act as a counter weight to absolute power otherwise the US has the very kind of King its started a country to get away from. You fail to see the irony in your argument of wanting to have a King with a rubber stamp assembly. Me I see very little difference between King George and King Donald...both mad dictators. Perhaps we could also use another analogy and liken Congressman Shiff to Cromwell. Think of him as a puritan fed up with a corrupt despot. Off with Donald's head.Viva la revolution. You Yanks are in need of your own versions of Volitaires and Robespierre Come on. The spectacle of seeing Senators who have a constitutional obligation to conduct an impeachment trial refusing to do so is a sad day for America. They put their own partisan interests before the democratic safeguard process defined by the constitution to uphold and they were entrusted to pursue and for that-I hope these Senators who helped obstruct justice and prevent the impeachment process are held accountable by US voters. I won't hold my breath. As for your last sentence we both know Teflon Don is gonna keep walkin and talkin. I don;t see any Archangel Michael prepared to slew this Satan...although it does appear Mitt Romney would love to take on that role. As for Pence and his strategic photo-ops just in case Donny does choke on a piece of KFC is precious. Those Pope photos showing him as the statesman on standby were hilarious. you voted in that chump y'all call Donald Trump and to compound that nonsense had Donny bring in Mike Pence now is it just me or when you look carefully at Donald or Mike either looks just like a Bull Dyke illuminati women to men a Satanic omen so may I suggest you really consider Kayne West that should be your next election plan bring in First Lady Kim Kardashian and for the Secretary of State surely we can concur we will appoint Bruce Kaitlyn Jenner
-
That is an illogical statement and just plain silly. Dictators have puppet assemblies. Are you trying to tell me Putin, Kim Jog Un are not dictators because their legislative assemblies clap in unison? Really? You Trump cultees live in la la land. Now please remember it was Shady not I who brought up the argument that if Trump can not do whatever he wants he is a victim of his state government not I, but now that he has suggested he has a rogue communist party on his hands in the House of Representatives not to worry, these Repubican Senators have it all under control:
-
Trump's statements to the public let alone to hjs staff made it clear what the conditions were. That is why the legal defense had to be changed to not whether he acted in a conflicted manner but that he can act in a conflicted manner. Your repeating the above mantra does not even remotely match the defense arguments of his lawyers.
-
Really, Donald is a victim of political persecution by the state? That's your analogy? Now the House of Representatives are a Communist Party?
-
Of course it has something to do with justice. The impeachment process is a system designed to replace a conventional criminal prosecution to hold a President accountable when they are engaged in criminal behaviour to prevent injustice. Lol you do though nicely summarize how you Trump cultees have NO standards of justice for how Trump behaves.
-
My God this cult worship of Trump is hilarious. Just erase the name King and substitute the word Trump and listen to this and you will see what Trump cultees on this forum have reduced themselves to: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/asia-pacific/north-korean-citizens-express-love-for-kim-jong-un-on-state-tv-1.3808098 Now of course with Kim Jong Un, also known as the Great Successor, his legends grow: https://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/10-myths-north-koreans-believe-about-kim-jong-un/3166963/ With King Donald the First, adored leader of the US we need know propaganda department, Mr. Trump does the job himself: https://www.businessinsider.com/number-of-trump-tweets-praising-himself-2019-11 However I appreciate how Comrade Wes and Comrade Bush Chaney sing his praises. I think you should make a song for him similiar to the one for Kim: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/07/kim-jong-uns-official-new-theme-song-translated/259475/ Here are the lyrics which hell I would just use for Donald if I were Wes. I wouldn't worry about copyright infringement. And now, the lyrics: Song: "Onward Toward the Final Victory" 노래 <최후의 승리를 향하여 앞으로> Composer: Yoon Du Geun, Lyrics: Kim Moon Hyuk (add with adaptions from Barry Manilow) 작사 윤두근, 작곡 김문혁 By exploding the mental strength of the united heart of our million(add an s) citizens 일심의 천만군민 정신력 폭발시켜 Joseon (replace with Mr. Trump) resounds the marching drums of the powerful, prosperous nation 조선은 강성국가 진군북 울려간다 Let's go, Great Baekdu-mountain (replace that with Great Testacle), by the calling of the political party 나가자 백두산대국아 당중앙 부름따라 Onward, onward to the final victory 최후의 승리를 향하여 앞으로 앞으로 As our undefeated army boasts winning a hundred battles 불패의 군력으로 백승을 떨쳐가며 Joseon (Trump) is bolstered as the gun barrel of the powerful, prosperous nation 조선은 강성국가 총대로 떠받든다 Let's go, Great Baekdu-mountain )(Great Testacle) nation, Songun's (Trump's hairstyle) height of ensign 나가자 백두산대국아 선군의 기치높이 Onward, onward to the final victory 최후의 승리를 향하여 앞으로 앞으로

Why would they? The last thing they would do is call those 3 and give them a platform to attack Trump.
