There is also further evidence of presence of mind and deliberation based on what his brother said after the shooting, from what the brother told police and from eye witnesses who indicated he also appears to have targetted women. As well if he truly was disconnected he would have been placed in hospital under psychiatric hold until the episode was over after his arrest. However he was non violent and at all times coherent after his arrest displaying full awareness and no impairment of any kind so can we stop with this bullshit use of the word psychotic. Rehabilitation is a word that suggests you can get someone to stop engaging in crimes when used in reference to how we should manage criminals. While It does have some application to first time criminals, some drug and alcohol addicts and in aboriginal healing circles with some natives, the reality is it has little impact on reducing crime.
