  1. Just like the gaffe from when Obama said about the if you own a business you didn't build that. Romney made a dumb statement that when running for office could cause problems. However given how polarized the USA is right now, I can't see the numbers shifting too much. I think Romney's campaign team messed up the campaign. Instead of playing hard to his base and pissing off independents, it should have been playing to the independents and telling his base to get their ass in line.
  2. I got the touch because I have a berry. I got my 200 out of it, Im still getting the phone because the contract is up and the processor on the berry is shot. The iPod touch is geared toward guys who have other phones but still want music. Given that the iTunes store is gravy, lots of people use it to get music because of the fast speed, safety, and security. The touch is great for putting music in the machinery which is it's job while I work. The touch is actually on the cheap end of tablet computers. Has just as much space as the pad, just a tiny screen.
  3. I like the apple stuff because it's simple to use and it works. I can almost set my watch to it. It does everything I want it to efficiently. I'll be trading off my blackberry (processor is shot on it) for an iPhone which im already familiar with based on he iPad2 and iPod touch I have. I have an old laptop that's essentially a hard drive with a screen that doesn't do a lot. The iPad gets used ALOT. 5 gb of data for 35 per month and fast enough to watch YouTube basically priced a laptop and an I ternet stick out of the picture. Not to mention my iPad is still fast vs a PC which for some reason becomes slow. I don't know much about computers to be tinkering with them all the time. And apparently according to apples sales figutpres so do a lot of other people. Apples iPhone line is worth more than Microsoft. That's nuts!
  4. Better than the days of Mao, I think not
  5. It is considering the "easy money" entertainers and pro athletes get and then run into financial difficulty
  6. Yet the women on question not only avoid financial devastation, they built their wealth and diversified their revenue stream.
  7. That's what mc hammer and many professional athletes think until they get into hot water. For how stupid these women portray themselves on tv, they seem to be outdoing a lot of their peers...
  8. I'm saying these women's have some degree of accumen in that they don't squander their wealth which can happen to some well off young people. They have essentially identified their strengths and weaknesses and came up with a business plan that has netted them millions of their own dollars. It would appear that they are squandering their wealth when cleverly they are building more. They were smart enough to hire managers which says enough. Those cupcakes aren't MC Hammer in how they do business. And then there are some professional athletes who squander their huge salaries. I think these women deserve some credit for being able to create million dollar brands and essentially strike out on their own without bankrupting themselves. It's one thing to become rich, it's another to stay rich.
  9. His behavior creates wealth, employment, and improves people's lives How evil is that?
  10. Marketing is not easy, not by a long shot. There is a reason a great deal of start ups fail and products don't last too long in stores, and it's not luck, it's finding out what your audience likes and exploiting it. A lot of it may be hokey and common sense, but if it were so easy, why isn't everyone doing it making some money? And it is smart to listen to what slightly smarter people say, a lot of people are too stubborn and it ends up hurting them in the end. Paris hiltons sex tape is one example of marketing and she went after a specific audience to raise her profile. It was smart, she can go to any night club and charge the owners a kings ransom just for appearing there. That was what happened after she and her minions did the groundwork to market her to the public.
  11. Nope slavery was wrong, no salaries paid, very low productivity, and unforeseen societal problems afterwards. Try again
  12. There are lots of independent farms left. Many farms went to the corporate model because it makes sense. They're family run mini corporations with dad as the CEO and mom as the vice pres. How are producers being forced? With better performing plants? You should really take a look at how the ag industry operates before making assumptions based on a biased film such as according to monsanto. Heck I'd wager most of mo Santos sales reps are farm kids. There's no smoke and mirrors in the ag industry, always been big and little players.
  13. That's why there shouldn't have been stimulus in the first place if it did nothing. So you don't employ anybody, outstanding. You pay a pittance in tax and they pay 20k to millions in salaries to employees. They are already giving people the ability to demand goods and services, far more than your tax and spend nonsense, heck foreign investment has lifted more people out of poverty than govt foreign aid and those UNICEF boxes! An economy is not based entirely of consumption, a trip to some of the shit holes of northern Canada is proof of that. Lower tax rates are not giving money away, it's taking less. There is a difference.
  14. Yet they were smart enough to get the right people to manage their affairs for them and know how to ,market themselves. Them being gong shows has made them millions. That's just good marketing.
  15. Do you employ people? Do you put up your own money to hel finance people with start up businesses? Didn't think so. Seems like mr. Dirtbag helps more people than you do...
  16. And how did Canada's economy do when PMPM cut taxes on corporations? How are we still doing with tax cuts to corporations? Lower corporate taxes than the USA and our economy is in excellent shape. Hmmmm
  17. That's true, but how big does the public sector actually need to be? That's the eternal debate
  18. Noo, you may get incentive to grow tge cutting edge experimental stuff for a year, but other than that you get the same price as the oher stuff. Nexera has a premium on it because it's one of the healthiest veg oils money can buy and demand is high. Second line is nonsense, nobody is getting sick and there's no change except for yield improvement and herbicide tolerance. Corn is still digested and made up of starch and protein. The pesticides are washed off during the rain. How many people are getting sick over the last 20+ years again. I've looked into it, these products make me the most money and provide exceptional health benefits, not to mention feed people and put fuel in gas tanks. You really need to do more research in the ag industry other than the one side from greenpeace and anti-corporation types. They have big dollars spent putting out their message as well.
  19. It would be worse for those idiots afterwards when their standard of living drops like a rock
  20. That's rich, you said that overpaid public sector employees are not burying their money in the ground, yet you complain about millionaires sitting on heir money. The standard of living a millionaire and taxes they pay is not sitting on their money. The salaries they pay is not sitting on their money. Do you pay anyone a salary? Business inputs are not sitting on their money. The rapid development of asia and latin america out of poverty is not sitting on their money, You can't have an economy based on consumption, it's a house of cards and doesn't work. That's what the public sector does, it does not produce any wealth only redistributes it for consumption. This post is why academics shouldn't be running things, lots of education, but little smarts.
  21. And your missing the liberty link products from their competitors. All I have to say is wow, a test plot like the umpteen test plots in western Canada. Farmers can still choose to grow the old fashioned methods, but why haven't they?
  22. A better world than a country with no industry
  23. considering the high demand for our products and the desperate labour shortage out here, there's room for people, not to mention all the spinoff businesses/services needed to take care of all those people/industry. You guys don't have the growth potential like we do. theres a difference.
  24. The west would be more booming? We are in a far different industrial situation than you guys are. Many many many people want what we have.
  25. You'd want to ask some people in Louisiana that little question...
