Remember all the past lies/scandals from the Federal Liberals
blueblood replied to TCCK's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Let's play the fear tactics game then. At least our useless Harper doesn't have the support and endorsement of terrorists, I wonder what party that would be, starts with an N. Looks like we're winning when the Taliban is trying to influence the political process so we leave earlier, they can't force us out -
Things don't look good when Dion is going to double the amount given in the tory childcare plan and according to CTV news the NDP will apparently have the support of the Taliban. ctv

Networks Decide not to Allow The Green Party in Debate
blueblood replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I didn't enjoy the ones last year, it was too canned for my liking. All they did was answer questions, it was more like an interview than a debate. If they're going to be debating, let them go at it and my the best man win. -
Why Conservative Policies are Better for the Middle Class
blueblood replied to trackg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm pretty sure groceries are taxed, I recall paying GST at the grocery store. Of course poor people spend money, just not a lot of it. What do they put their money in a sock and raid the soup kitchens? Income tax is paid for right off your pay stub. I'm all for income tax cuts, cut away, you can also cut away all those fancy social programs you like to support. Punishing people for spending to improve our economy is also not a good way to go either. The GST cut has been very good for myself and a lot of Canadians. -

Harper to unveil new tax measure today
blueblood replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is politics pure and simple. Harper has created a wedge issue b/w the Liberals and Tories and it's up to Canadians to decide what they want. This looks like the main platforms squaring off with each other. -
Latest polls show that around 40% of the country are cowards and fools I guess. Keep up the scare mongering, it has proven such a great election tactic

Canada is the only G7 country with a surplus and still leads it in terms of financial stability. If the best the left can do is namecalling this election is in the bag. Harper needs to spend to satisfy the left, once in majority, he'll cut taxes and spending, *scary scary -

It gives the same benefits to those who don't spend, they save when they buy groceries, which is better off for poor people who don't pay income tax at all. -

yes and the conference board supported the GST so what, a tax cut is a tax cut. What about those who don't pay income tax, don't they deserve a tax cut? If you think Canadians spend 50 dollars in a year that's nonsense. Too bad this "inept moron" is in majority territory. Too bad this country is not broke, too bad we are not in deficit. Too bad pot will still be illegal. 4 more years!!! -

GST cut benefits everyone who spends which is everyone, it helps a little and is by no means a get rich scheme. -

GST down from 7 to 5 percent, sounds like a tax cut to me. -
The green party is a one trick pony all about the environment. If Canadians cared about the environment like they do, we'd have a green party majority. We're talking real alternatives here, as much as I don't like the Libs, I will give them that their platform is geared towards a large group of Canadians, like the tories. The greens are targeted at environmentalists and are attempting a go at social engineering.

a fair question to ask is will another centrist option come up in Canada?

Why do we have a Governor General?
blueblood replied to PoliticalCitizen's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
More freedoms than old country. If subjects don't want to be subjects, emmigrate down south, they have the freedom to do that, whereas in the USSR you don't. Why people even debate with Politicalcitizen is beyond me, it's been proven he's a hypocrite as his arguments hold as much water as a wicker basket. -

Nobody wanting to buy overpriced crap is hurting the manufacturing sector not Harper, honestly factory workers demanding to be on par with people with 5 yrs. ed is how an economy goes south. In Alberta grunt workers are on par with 5 yrs. ed because there is demand for what Alberta produces. -
Tried that in the USSR, don't be talking about dark ages. Economics isn't rocket science, you don't seem to be getting it. Alberta is how an economy should be run, the avg. person out there is doing very well.

that resource based economy is why Canada is not in economic trouble. Wages going down, Tim Hortons workers get 19 bucks an hour in Alberta. Canada's export sector is still doing well. Manufacturing jobs are a great way to turn us into a developing country. 4 more years!!! -

Spending is too high that's all. Time to cut programs in deficit. -

Harper's spending has been budgeted for, He's repeating budget points. Are tax cuts counted as spending? If they are, I guess Harper is spending like a drunken sailor The gov't shouldn't be rolling around with 20 billion extra dollars or however the amount is, that means taxes are too high. -
Not to mention not being taken seriously. Some people don't see the line. It's like saying Harper is going to put soldiers on the streets or the MB tories and the crime thing. Am I going to take that seriously, no.
