Score 1 for team cowboy. yee haw!!! -
I think your right, it's hard to have a concrete policy when there is the likes of Bob Rae and Pablo Rodriquez (I think that's his last name) on one end and Ignatieff and McCallum on the other. It looks like a party with a split personality. I think Harper was going after rural Quebec hard with the arts cuts thinking rural canadians are rural canadians, i guess rural quebecers like their arts more than other rural people. I also think harper got ahead of himself with that comment and this might deny him the majority.

Harper is not going to be defeated in this election, care to read my signature coming from a card carrying Liberal. Oh I get why you don't like modern farmers, it must be an inferiority complex.

And that's where I come in, I feed those people from Singapore even though they can go to the rice patty or catch fish. There are other people in Singapore that can participate in agriculture and feed the people in apartments, wonder why they don't? I am from Northwest Manitoba and there are zero Amish people here, there is Mennonites, hutterites, european immigrants, and "regular" canadians though. Too bad Amish people can't farm as proper as I can. Yes Viterra and Monsanto sponsoring high school students for university and donating to community events is sure destroying communities. Why am I going to waste my time learning with Amish farming practices when mine are better? Of course Amish have much lower operating costs, a two hundred year old plow has more than paid for itself, not to mention no electricity and no groceries. My operating costs are large and my income is larger and I get to enjoy technology on top of it, what a marvel idea! I enjoy every trip to the bank, my loans officer loves me and my timely payments and I love my large bank account!! The thing is the Amish are not getting similar yields to me, that is impossible. My farm is small, its only 2000 acres, and its run more efficiently than an Amish one, so I am no agribusiness. If the Amish are getting similar yields to me, than why am I wasting 300 000 dollars on crop inputs and why did I spend 200 000 on machinery??? If I can get 80 bu/acre for wheat with an ox and plow, I'm going to latin america on a hiring spree then. Does your toaster tell you about luddite farming practices? The only way your going to get out of that hole your digging is to dig straight down to China. -

There's 6 billion people in the world and a fuel hungry energy sector, that money won't be running out. Wrong, we can grow fuel for our diesel powered tractors now. Those tractors take a lot of canola to feed them. Nope technological advantage is still mine. Hahahahahahahaha With the Amish not wanting to make big money for their crops, it means there are some people going without food overseas. Are Ontario people that clueless when it comes to agriculture??? -

Oh my God a Toronto socialist is teaching me about agriculture. I am definetely buying shares in the quebec aluminum company now, maybe even T-Fal toasters for that post. Conventional farming is not feeding the world because there are 6 billion people and more than half can barely afford what I produce and are too lazy to make their own. By the way northwest manitoba has some of the best productive farmland in the world. How in the name of all that is holy can an ox and plow produce more than me when I use GM crops, herbicide, fungicide, and fertilizer. There's a reason why Canadian farmers buy into science, it's to produce more and make more money. To suggest an Amish person gets 80 bu/acre for CWRS #1 wheat is laughable. It is impossible to get that high of a yield by just watching it grow like the Amish do. The lazy farmers are in debt. When my operation grosses less than 1 mil, I consider myself in financial kaka. An amish farm will never ever ever gross 1 mil, hell the hutterites are ultra religious and even they're smart enough to buy into modern farming practices. The Luddite view of agriculture you have is hilarious. -
And there's the Toronto arrogance coming through again. I've been done for a week, I'm doing field work now. Those damn GM crops feeding those poor people all over the world and cheap cooking oil. Oh and your welcome so that your lazy ass can go to the store instead of producing your own food. The thoughts of a Harper majority are keeping many many Canadians warm and fuzzy as well. The polls are looking good. Alan Jackson and Sara Evans on my ipod keep me warm and fuzzy when I'm running the combine. Yee Haw!!!

I'm curious as to what will happen to the ndp if the tories get a majority. They will essentially be back to where they were in 93, powerless. How is the NDP going to stop harper if harper has a majority. I think the ndp has been somewhat relevant due to the nature of a minority parliament where they had some power. If it's a majority gov't, where is their power? where is their relevence?
-
They don't need a non-partisan manner, its going to be a tory majority, why does Harper need the peanut gallery??
-
it's also convenient that the debate is the next night. layton would use the meeting to flaunt his communist agenda. the crisis has already hit, whether it gets discussed by party leaders now, or in two weeks is redundant.
-
No, Canada needs to have not lazy people. A person can have a degree and be a lazy dumbass. I don't have a university degree, and it peeves a lot of people with university degrees when I go on vacation (can you say the clampetts invade mexico?)

Does anyone in Toronto want the conservatives in power, again?

Those guys at CCL need to go to their universities and ask for a refund. -
This looks like something Layton would try and use as ammunition in the debate, if Layton is serious there is ample time after the debate and election to hold this kind of meeting.

Too late, look at Zimbabwe, that country used to be an agricultural exporter, now they can't even feed themselves. -

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Your going to feed 6-8 billion people and fuel vehicles with Amish technology. My grain gets 60-80 bu/acre and my canola gets 50-60 bu/acre. It has to or I am in financial kaka. I would doubt an Amish person gets a third of what I produce. An Amish person is going to get 80 bu/acre wheat with no fertilizer and no spray, that's the best laugh I had all day. Those Africans need to get up to my level of production and fast if they don't want to starve. -
The Americans and Soviets had that same race, who lost again??? How big is the average Albertan's nest egg compared to the average Norweigan's nest egg? Not only that, there is still lots of resources to be had there, not to mention a very prosperous ag industry coming in. Socialism is a failed experiment, and the lifestyle of Albertan's is proof.
-
How is having money in the bank bad for the economy, pray do tell... How is business's making and spending money bad for the economy, please explain...
-
What are you on, now that the Norweigan oilfields are almost out, they're spending that 350 billion on oil over here plus their ridiculous social programs. Canada has a much better management of the oilfields, Alberta especially, the average Albertan lives much better than the average Norweigan. If norway is so good, why don't you emigrate there...
-
This time around, people aren't leaving SK. What does the alberta gov't spend their money on, boosting their economy? Cutting taxes? Is not having a PST overspending? That and NAFTA helps things out along as well. Trudeau found that out with NEP, his deficit got bigger. Mulroney was busy trying to pay that massive debt from trudeau. It was a massive debt that needed to be paid for. The Alberta gov't spent money on developing the oil sector, look where AB is and where MB is, hmm.
-
So that money doesn't get spent at all, it just sits in a bank account. Last time I checked the reason people want to make money is so they can spend it.
-
Mission accomplished, a far better strategy than gouging business and driving out all of the young people of that province to other parts of the country. The sask party isn't spending much of anything right now. I think they're paying off the debt. Just like the Trudeau gov't needed Mulroney's policies to bail Canada out when Trudeau's spending party was over.
