A trudeau/Harper debate would be one of the nastiest spectacles on TV. It would be like micing up Sean Avery and Chris Neil at a Hockey Game. Harper can piss people off just like Trudeau, if not more so. Harper has to keep his vile mouth shut because his handlers want him to appear nice.

Dion to step down, reports say
blueblood replied to Pat Coghlan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If Harper got away with calling the last one, he'll get away with this one. They didn't spend all that money on those attack ads for nothing. harper has his big issue, and has people on side. All he has to do is keep spinning the anti coalition rhetoric. he'll het his election. It helps when Rae, Dion, and Duceppe are voting down the budget no matter what. -
Canada's Government goes on vacation during crises
blueblood replied to ironstone's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It'll pick up to record levels when the market corrects itself. Expansion was done prior to this mess. Still better than it was 3 yrs. ago though. Should be done by 2010. -
Canada's Government goes on vacation during crises

Inputs have crashed though. I'm looking long term. I'd say Jim Rogers is a more than reliable source to go on. As for the end of October when that was posted, for all intents and purposes it was in the same gong show as it is now. We're in a much better position than manufacturing, bar none. -

Dion to step down, reports say
blueblood replied to Pat Coghlan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Have you not read a poll? Had there not been such a stink, parliament might not have got prorogued. -
Call of Duty 5 (too many damn good kids on there, I walk for 2 seconds and am swiss cheese, I'm lucky to get 5 kills in a round) Can't find a shooter as fun to play multiplayer as 007 Goldeneye for N64. NHL 09, hockey is the best multiplayer videogame ever. Medieval 2 for PC, finally a game I can light people up on, beware of my byzantine horse archers...

Another intelligent and coherent post... {sarcasm meter explodes} Why do pirates like hot dogs, and I thought they were all about rum?

Dion to step down, reports say
blueblood replied to Pat Coghlan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If you thought phase 1 was bad, wait till phase 2 kicks in!!! The freight train has left the station and doesn't make any unscheduled stops!! Attack ads for everybody!!! The Liberals should just fold up their tent and go home. An election would be a disaster for the left wing in Canada, the silent majority dragon has been awakened!!! -
Calvert is gone, what more do you want. however, Saskatchewan is enjoying growth and prosperity and good government under Brad Wall and the Saskatchewan party. Highways - getting fixed Environment - non issue and gets in the way of province making money Labor shortage - Wall went to Ontario and pitched SK, can't do anymore than that help the farmer - done, farmers are doing better with Wall and his policies than under calvert Tax the upper class - hell no, you wouldn't be helping farmers and would chase business and jobs away. Not tax middle and lower classes - done, more money in the pocket is better for anyone NDP will win eventually, providing Brad Wall goofs. People are sick of NDP rule for close to twenty years.

Now is the time to call an Election!
blueblood replied to rparrish's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'd say he's waiting to release his budget parameters and hit them with a one-two punch. -
Proroguing parliament is quite common. It was prorogued when Chretien transfered power to Paul Martin. Had it only been the NDP and Liberals with a budget a half a year away, the GG would have told Harper to go fly a kite. The seperatist element threw a wrench in the whole system.

Support for Tories up amid House crisis,
blueblood replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's right, I done knowed it the whole time!!! The Liberals should blow the whole thing up and go for it again in five years when harper is unelectable. -

Could this all be part of Harper's plan?
blueblood replied to ThatGuy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I seen the shot, there were 3 Canadian flags intertwined with the provincial flags and there was a mural of the fathers of confederation. The problem arises with the one shot of the 3 of them signing a document when there were "conveniently" no flags in the shot. In all fairness, they did zoon out and the flags were off to the side. Technically your both right. Dion had 1 or two flags in his taping, but the tape was so bad you could hardly make out Dion himself, but strangely could make out Hot Air. -
25$ oil and the effect on Tar Sands development
blueblood replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Politicians don't change the country, the people and the times do. Trudeau happened to become PM during a time of radical change on the North American country. I didn't like Trudeau's gov't policies. The landscape won't be too much different. I don't think a politician can have that much sway over a population to influence culture (IMO Quebec's problem) A tory majority would either be one or two terms. People are fickle and will in time grant the Liberals a majority again. People are also smarter than given credit for, a politician doesn't have much influence how they live their lives. -

Which is why I think 2-3 years into the alledged next tory majority, Harper will be ousted by party brass. Harper would be unelectable as an incumbant majority Prime Minister with a potentially overhauled Liberal party due to form government. -

As for Harper pushing, no argument there. he smells blood and is going for broke. Attack ads and brinkmanship will be the order of dress. It's safe to say there most likely will be an election. It's probably going to take a few years for the Liberals to get their operation back in order, overhaul the party and become a force again. They'd be better off letting the tories get the majority and then completely overhauling themselves. If that happens even I would look at what they're selling. Right now they just stink too much of PET for my liking. -

The coalition not backing down was their biggest mistake. They got their funding back. They got greedy and paid the price. -

Immigrants have no capital and no desire to start up. Who's buying up farmland? Other farmers? I don't want fire hose spending on useless programs. However I am a tax payer that pays large taxes, I want my tax dollars working for me. Farmers are also some of the biggest contributors to the economy and 1 in 3 jobs is related to the ag industry. If you don't like farmers, you are more then welcome to not go to the grocery store and can grow/shoot your own food. If you want to pay through the nose for imported food then have at it. We have immigrants who can do oil field work for way less cheap, shall we open the door wide open? We also spend all of the money we get which helps out everybody. -

Like I say I am opinionated, but am no seperatist. Harper's next majority must address this issue (yes it will be a majority, the electorate is sick of elections and the gong show) Harper is playing dirty pool playing with national unity however, that is a fact. -

I believe it's the ass you kick might be the ass you kiss. Ontario is learning this lesson the hard way. You are more than entitled to laugh your butt off, I laughed at Ontario when shit hit the fan.
