  1. This is the biggest tinfoil hat and toaster thread yet.
  2. The tories can call in the top regal, hell we're in unprecedented political times, why not go for broke?
  3. Strategy. He won't go until he drops the throne speech-budget. By waiting and see what the Americans are doing, that's one more feather in his cap. Plus he'll have time for speeches and those effective attack ads. Hell for all I know the Queen might get involved.
  4. We're in tough economic times, why should our tax dollars go to funding parties when they can be spent on something else? Parties know how to raise money, let them do it themselves.
  5. I'm not as mad as some posters not on here. I'm calling it like I see it. I'd rather the tories not hold the bag for what happens to the economy during a recession. THis also makes the next election campaign a lot easier. I would be really po'd if the tories made a coalition gov't with the BQ, the last time something like that happened the reform party got created.
  6. You guys are planning on dropping an extra 30 billion dollars more than the tories were spending. What's 300 million. If Canadians support this coalition, let the population decide. If not, I look forward to watching Tory brass smile as the looney left spend us into deficit and make this recession worse.
  7. He's made the opposition look like power hungry sellouts. He's made the opposition look like they only care about power. The Candian voters are seething at this coalition. Harper is most likely going to hold a press conference and release a barrage of attack ads. If this was poker and the opposition has went all in with a full house. One would wonder if Harper has the four of a kind.
  8. Lets put this coalition to the test then. Go to an election. Take this theory to the electorate. With 63% then they should have a commanding majority in the house of commons.
  9. It might shock you but I'm not hyperpartisan. Trudeau poisoned the Liberals as far as westerners are concerned. Harper already has a solid reputation, but don't let that get in the way of your little dream world fantasy.
  10. The idea is that it isn't supposed to pass, they will include all the details of the budget, but the gov't will be defeated on the throne speech. It will be like the SSM bill. Why would they be hard pressed? An election they have a chance at returning to government, without one they are done for sure. There are a lot of pissed off people and the tories will use that to their advantage. The tories have nothing to lose by wanting to go to the polls.
  11. On CTV, he won't officially roll it out. He'll probably make it an incredibly long and boring throne speech with lots of dollars being allocated to various places. For all intents and purposes it will be a budget.
  12. Here's an idea, you go to the same board of psychiatrists and have your pathalogical hatred of Conservatives examined, come away with a cleam bill of health, and you will be taken seriously. What a stupid comment.
  13. He'll roll out the budget in the throne speech. He'll keep away from the house until the 26th of January. If he can get an election out of this, he's in good shape.
  14. Ha! Spoken like a true slicker. Hell Laurier and Pearson were better.
  15. Screw the West We'll take the rest. Nice party you support!!!
  16. How does it look bad, the opposition has hijacked parliament. Proroguing parliament would be an easy sell. Cripes they did it just before PMPM took power.
  17. The option is there though, all he has to do is go to the GG. They were flirting with this on MDL. No throne speech at all, they can go straight to the GG according to them.
  18. Do you know what the "feint" is? The tories have enough dirt to launch a smear campaign of epic proportions. From what I see, Canadians are right pissed off at the looney left, and the centre right posters here are more than content to watch this car wreck of a government coming up. Let's see there is the banana republic attack, large deficits attack, the coward attack, the uncooperative attack, just to name a few. The tories will run for a bit, possibly prorogue government. Then when the time is right they will strike back with overwhelming force. Even now they are getting funding to fire up the war room.
  19. Calling rural people rubes, classy. And urban people wonder why rural Canada is pissed off at them all the time. PET's social engineering is alive and well.
  20. PET fired the first shot
  21. Tory brass has suggested that they will use all the tools in the box in order to try and prevent this from happening. That means prorogue is on the table. A good idea would be to prorogue, if Harper is to be defeated it will be on the budget. This will give the time for the tories to yell coward, release attack ads, and speeches. Letting the Canadian public hear the budget would be extremely beneficial for them. It's going to be a long drawn out war of attrition.
  22. How, he gave an option as far as im concerned the opposition aren't being concillatory.
  23. nice double standard, its alright for liberals to act like donkey's but heaven forbid harper acts like the pm
  24. harper could have said exactly what you wanted and would still be ill considered
  25. Tory brass say that they will use any and all means to prevent the loss of gov't, get ready for parliament shutdown, attack ads, and speeches!!!
