  1. You tell me who has a higher income a push on a rig or a hippy with a sociology degree. If University degrees are the holy grail of intelligence and social standing, shouldn't all University degrees net jobs with a 6 figure income? Given that physicians have 1-2 degrees and a phd, they seem to spend a lot of time there. However, that doesn't make them smart. It means they read a lot of books. However we can tell by your posts that a University Degree didn't help with improving your mental capacity. No I don't, but I wouldn't say somebody shouldn't be in government because they believe in something. Stockwell Day for believing the Earth is 6000 years old is doing well in his cabinet post, the media seems to think that someone who thinks the Earth is 6000 years old is more than capable enough to run his particular cabinet post. But apparently bigots like you can't. Last I checked, stem cell research is still going on in Canada. For you to comment on christians for being ignorant is the definition of hypocrisy, but I'm not surprised, your a bigot after all. Considering that most profs are left leaning because they want other people to fund their research, I wouldn't be surprised that rubbed off on their students. That and a lot more young people have a university education than older people, and younger people tend to vote Liberal because they're naive to believe the racist, bigotted crap people like you spread about Christians. Call out the tinfoil hats, Harper hired somebody who knows how to write a speech! The sad thing is University is supposed to be a place of tolerance and understanding, yet you are the most bigotted and ignorant person on this board. For you to say Christians are incompetant, evil, and shouldn't be in government is as ignorant and as evil as how the people of Alabama viewed blacks in the 1950's. Stay classy San Diego!
  2. Do you see little green men dancing around?
  3. All I see is someone who needs to take some economics and commerce classes
  4. It's one thing to disagree with Harper's policies, that's fine; but to suggest Harper is some boogeyman out to impose some sort of religious doctrine in Canada that nobody wants, and face an election on that, is flat out ridiculous. It reeks of ignorance, stupidity, and a lack of mental capacity; university educated or not. I will give smallc this, he may not agree with Harper's tactics/policy, but even he realizes that simple logic says that Harper is not crazy enough to implement some sort of radical change to the country when he has the opportunity to be PM as long as the voters let him. Smallc is a prime example of how a university degree is not the be all and end all in determining intelligence (assuming what smallc said is true about bailing out of university to go to community college).
  5. If people are as upset as they are, Harper will pay for it at the polls, oh wait he already is. Looks like he won't be proroguing again. If you think having a majority is the keys to the candy store you are ignorant. At maximum he has five years, and then if a ludicrous policy is passed, its time for the door, the same door that the PC's were shown in 1993 when the GST was passed. Apparently you don't know how a constitution and a democracy work, which is not saying much for that university you went to. The fact that ignorant people like you have a University degree shows how worthless a university degree has become. Keep up with the bigotted tinfoil hat comments, they're priceless.
  6. What I hope happens out of all of this prorogue/coalition kerfuffle is that the next gov. general picked is actually qualified, and not some token figurehead. Do you think the GG had any idea of what was going on and her responsibilities when she was first picked?
  7. That is interesting, do you got a source for that, so I can read up on it?
  8. And that 300 million dollar election where voters pick MP's of the party they hope to form government is all a figment of my imagination.
  9. Here's a classic example of being a well learned person, but lacking in thinking skills. Under Harper the SSM debate was settled and is now over with. Where is the SSM debate now in the media? I don't hear it. I like how leftists say Harper is such a control freak, if he was as iron fisted as people say, he'd have to fire some of his Ontario MP's because they voted with the opposition. Could it be Harper would rather be PM than worry about what religious people think about homosexuals? Secondly we live in this thing called a democracy. If Harper does something stupid, come election time, he will get voted out of office, not only that there is a max of 5 yrs in between elections. It's a wonderful concept, you should study up on it. I am pretty sure that Harper won't be proroguing Parliament again due to the outrage from voters and potential voters, he got away with it the last time, but not this time. Dion ran on a platform of a carbon tax, look where that got him. To say Harper is going to open up these kind of debates that people don't want, when he is up for election on a regular basis is not only proposterous, it makes it look like you wasted 10's of thousands of dollars at University. The Liberals lost the last two elections trying to demonize Harper as some sort of boogeyman, Canadians aren't buying that, and to think that Canadians are stupid enough to buy that stupidity shows that the Liberals and their supporters are ivory tower elitists with the mental capacity of a 16 yr. old. People who go to church have as much right to run for office as the next guy. To say that people who go to church shouldn't be holding office shows the Canadian Left as a bunch of hypocrites - being tolerant only when its convenient. You sir are a hypocrite and need to get rid of that tinfoil hat.
  10. That's what I thought until I seen this movie. And you don't need a boring, snore fest to get in the critics good books. By artsy fartsy, I'm refering to the boring, cheesy way the film was presented to an audience of univerity film students and film critics. The Last Castle was a thoughtful movie, this is boring elitist crap. I understand that this film is boring, tries to be sophisticated, and wasted too much time on character development. It's a bloody book to put it short.
  11. That movie was more boring than church. I thought I was going to see a good western, all I got was an artsy fartsy borefest. We have narration and a camera shot of clouds, it's a movie meant to clean house for awards at film festivals.
  12. He's still not leading. Let him try and demand an election again. In case you haven't noticed polls get volatile when it comes to prorogue time. Hell the tories had close to 50% during Dion's little game. Nobody in their right mind is going to have that debate. Harper already knows how to put these ridiculous debates under the bus.
  13. Hell lets throw in sponsorship in there too, if Chretien and Martin got away with that, something must be wrong.
  14. Good thing they prorogued parliament which is also in the constitution. Dion played the constitution technicality game and lost. Ignatieff isn't faring much better.
  15. Hooray for Nicky's ignorance!!! Dion thought that too, and Harper fixed his little red wagon!
  16. Gotta love your ignorance, when the market is shaky everyone parks their funds with the greenback, why don't they park their funds with the euro?
  17. Any side has a point at this, left or right. Those experts can have that constitution memorized and the legal system memorized, but that doesn't mean a whit if they don't have the mental capacity to utilize the information that they have stored.
  18. So your implying that those without a university education are automatically stupid? There is a difference between intelligence and learning something.
  19. When the PM goes on national TV and says that the economy is in for a rough road ahead while the TSX is at record highs, that is a cue for me to have a firesale on my investments. What's going on is typical supply and demand, it's a two way street and some people don't like the flow of traffic; doesn't mean the system is "cocked up", just means the people "cocked up" themselves. Keep playing the blame game. The American economy was regulated to give mortgages to broke ass losers, how did that work out?
  20. Some people dig the gopher look though...
  21. Cocking things up according to who? you? Adam Smith's theory is a classic two way street. Just because you don't like the direction of traffic sometimes doesn't mean its "cocked up".
  22. you can always email the other CBC show starring Kevin O'Leary and Amanda Lang with reference to that and watch the fireworks display.
  23. The FCC is just like a regular bank. They used to be a "bank of last resort" until they needed an exorbinate one time cash injection to right the ship. Now they are just like any other bank. They have been given marching orders to maintain a profit or get "blown up". The FCC in Trudeau's era was just as bad if not worse for giving bad loans than banks today, what was worse was that it was a crown corporation running at a massive loss costing taxpayers a fortune. Now, their restrictions/loans are comparable with major banks and at times the major banks can offer more attractive loans.
  24. That's Clinton's baby as much as anyones. If the gov't hadn't of intervened, the banks would have told the poor people to f*** off like they do in Canada. In Canada banks are regulated to tell poor people to f*** off, in the states they were regulated to lend to them. Your right greed created this problem, the poor people were greedy and wanted things they couldn't afford, and the dems were greedy by wanting votes from those broke ass losers. The American gov't was heavily involved with the US banking system by forcing banks to loan with its "regulations" - a fat lot of good that did. Iceland was just a domino, banking regulations would have done nothing for that country.
  25. So Manning isn't allowed to make changes, Harper isn't allowed to make changes, but somehow Trudeau is? Just because you don't agree with some of the changes proposed doesn't mean they shouldn't have happened. Western Canadians and Capitalists took our bath when the "great" Trudeau came along and took Canada on a course of his choosing. Just because some of us don't buy into Trudeau's garbage doesn't make us any less Canadian than you.
