Moses help with the development of rights. But I believe there is a pecking order of who delivers and enforce rights.

I like the collapse/or directory posting system as it resembles the windows file system. It is rather easy to filter post and posters so you are able to discriminate in posting and reading The only problem I have is that I am rather too busy to go clicking around at every poster name to read the entirety of a topic - I preferred the page system using the scroll bars where I can read a page of a number of post all at once but I would like the directory system as an enhancement Oh! I now noticed that I can actually see a page of 10 postings if I was replying - that's what I meant

OK firstly I wish to respect the believes of everyone, and acknowledge the sensitivity of the issue at hand, and my condolences are extended to Digby Now, I wish to say I have my own impressions about this death. I mean why can't we also believe people just die out - that’s all. I don’t know why we have to buy into some believe that people are rewarded after death and that something wonderful will be done for them if they exhibit for good behaviour while they were alive. Or they will be punished for being bad. I mean if life is much more beautiful after death, we should all be striving to die a good death in a hurry. Like why wait, trying to prolong living – some of us really go though major hurdles and we are always looking for better life. I would like to share my one experience with someone dear to me who died. My dad was young and he died suddenly. I am proud to say that I saw the post-mortem of my dad and I was only an impressionable young girl. My neighbour who supervised that operation let me into the room to watch the entirety of the procedure of autopsy. She said it was my dad afterall, and plus I probably was not ever going to have an experience and witness anything like this again. For once I was in the right place, and I am grateful of course. I still carry around vividly those memories of the autopsy. Needless to say the only time I was upset about this whole death, is when the folks proceed to return the body parts haphazardly, just throwing carelessly and proceeded to stitched it up. I had somehow hope my dad was going to be fixed. But my hopes had indeed faltered when I realise that the organs were not put into their right places, I mean there was no way body part are attracted to their correct position, and start working by themselves plus with the stitch job, it was hopeless, stapling. The last I saw of my dad was at the funeral home and went up to hold his hand, just to make sure, but it was rather cold, only then I realise he was never really going to return. I have never thought about what happened to him thereafter, all I knew that he was going to decay. Plus, my sisters gave us young ones the breakdown of timeline of the decomposition of the dead body and we were satisfied with their explanation. We currently have a headstand on a grave to honor my dad like everyone else – for me it symbolises my dad who once was and the fond memories I still carry. I mean there is nothing about heaven in this account, and it’s my dad. Hope I believe for happiness after death is really far fetched. But thats what I think.

I would like to add my bit on this conversation. The experience of oppession of women leads women to prioritize being a female as a point of self-definition and social position. Here is what I mean that women on the whole join in the equality struggle for change forgetting that men are the oppressors. Women continue to look for equality while men continue with their individual rights. I question how can one disappear men from work on gender equality? They run the show Women, I feel are still recasting their social and private lives. They are still in this relationship mode, the struggles with economics, health and child care, education are paramount along with their identity. Why is it that women are now taking up a "third shift" with their struggles? Let me remind you of what the first shift is - working in some low paid job, second shift is coming home to take care of house duties and kids, and the third shifts is outreaching to organizations late in the night for support. Politics is still a "guy" conversation. I mean look around this Mapleleafweb forum - can you count on one hand the number of women contributing to the discussions - now don't try to insult me by squaring a blame on marketing strategies If women show lack of enthusiasm well there is no short-term advances in politics for them with their short-term life in politics I do still believe women voters will continue to vote liberals even with their lies or turn to NDP The conservatives seem to ignore issues that a central to women lives i.e. their self-definition/identity Here is what I mean based on glass ceiling numbers 20% of women can sit in political seats - then look at how long there are usually there 2 years, 3 years and the impact of their influence - how do one say NIL You understand that if a woman did try to make herself competitive they are somehow chosen for "public appearance" to assist with revival of parties. Is that the politics of Belinda. In the end the women are soon overpower by men who were a lifetime in politics well greater than those 3 years and in the old boy's club Women hoping for party leadership is rather bleak - the exceptional women is passed over also Hence women are unable to influence changes or make a difference. The sphere of political institution for exclusion of women is age-old and the systems were initially designed to the exclusion of women. We have change the laws to include women and legally removed barriers but somehow politics is still there, we all know the meaning of these terms: "a man's game" "men's club" "men turf" you get the picture. I have a feeling that even if women enter into politics by the numbers maybe change to address women’s issues will be slow for the mere fact of what is wrong with parties’ discipline, solidarity with males in the cabinet and the entire structure of government – well there are much challenges for women. Now I don’t have the numbers of how women vote. But, also I wondered about their political activities even as an activist, voting, interest groups on politics, their impact on legislatures, and as suffragettes and leaders. Did I mention women’s progress in politics has been stagnated – I mean check the stats of the progress made in perhaps last 20 years to present. A few additions to here and there, which also sums up the gender gap..we are here and they are over there

This political correctness is ludicrous. It goes overboard to eliminate and assault the fear of offending others and hence gains momentum to the point of the endangerment of intellectual paralysis. Here is what I mean. The other day I was waiting in a line and observed a young “black” female to whom folks kept apologizing to, and sometimes for no reason at all. To me it was like the mere fact that she was physically there; people are mobilized into some apologizing mode. So, I was curious as to why she felt they were apologizing. Apparently, people are afraid to offend her. She felt that she represented the entire black race at that moment of time. In fact, she feels as if she represents the entire black race every time, like there is no hiding from some decency nowadays. She felt as if the folks were taking a major burden to apologize to an entire black race for wrongs done in the past and to redress those injustices caused by prejudice. So now society wants to show its adaptation and the results of some social change. Well it’s unbelievable; I saw this change actually happening, like apologizing in abundance right in front of my innocent eyes. Anyways, so she goes on to confess this is the sort of apologetic thing happens a lot, and wondered why people have to apologize all the time. Of course she didn’t feel as if she is deserving of all these apologies. So I thought to myself, how ungrateful it seems, that maybe, she perhaps think that it is some kind of deceit, but then that would be regarded as political incorrectness. So, perhaps she meant people just don’t get it, the ironies I meant, or those double meanings, or the extremities of what is cascaded upon her shoulders. Well how smart does one have to be to offend people all around left and right? But, as if there isn’t more of wanting to resolve this redress on how to “get with the program”, or rather more like you are subdued into “culturally awareness” and on how to be “cultural sensitive”. So, you have to be plugged into political lingo and make sure to apologize in abundance and do the morally right thing, to accommodate sensitivity bile.

August1991 Posted on Apr 10 2005, 10:46 PM Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) requires federally regulated employers to comply as of January 1, 2001 PIPEDA as of January 1, 2004 applies to personal info collected, used, disclosed, in provincially regulated organizations in commercial activity includes selling, bartering, leasing donor, membership or fundraising list except if provinces have a similar legislation PIPEDA - the ACT I don't think privacy act is about finding the right person, or monitoring but more about offering a guide and forming a basis of ethical personal information practices It follows that rules and monitoring are applied consistently to all employees in a fair manner. No one person should be targeted but some fair system being implemented Employees need to know how their information is protected Ok the computer usage - it is company property etc. If companies are using monitoring activities it should be communicated via policies the employer uses e.g. employers could state that e-mail is for business purposes only There is a case of a long time employee who has used a personal laptop to store company information for years. All of a sudden the employer wanted to change system but when the employee suggested that the system is say incompatible, the employer seize the laptop and began immediate transferal of company's information. The question of trust, and dedicated service now out of the door. But question is where are the rights of employees in this instance who was loyal? I mean the information was kept safe and he was respected for years non?

theloniusfleabag Posted on Apr 10 2005, 09:42 PM The right to privacy has never been recognise as a separate right. I mean that before information technology the right of people were protected on the basis of the practical difficulties of locating firstly then compiling records. With information age flow of data is instantaneous to concerns about privacy is paramount. Monitoring reduces morale and compromises trust in the workplace. An employer might want to use the monitoring of browsing and keyboard strokes, with video taping to reenforce misconduct especially when the employee is unaware of this happening Employees need to give consent and be aware of the information collected and its usage, they need to be aware that they are monitored etc. Employers have to be accountable and give an explanation as to why there are collecting information and only collect information that is necessary I mean if employers want to video tape employees there must be a direct relation as it relates to work and performace and to attached to perhaps constructive dismissal You can't want to put a video camera to monitor employees on their smoke break and use it against them. There is a that case showed how the employer taped an employee washing his car in his driveway, watering his plants. The employee stated he was allergic to water. I mean it is evidence but the surveillance is not ethical or NEAR cause of what is reasonable regardless of relevance.
-
Currently PIPEDA applies to federally regulated organizations. If you live in Quebec, BC or Alberta then you do have privacy laws as it relates to employment Most employers are reporting that it takes a long time to examine their practices and polices for implementation - but thats the only noted negative I mean where are the fundamental rights of workers to protect their privacy. Employers have to be accountable for the information they collect and how the information is manipulated, or its usage and its disclosure or retention I mean look at the video surveillance cameras. There is no restriction in Ontario. An employee wanting to question the appropriateness of surveillance currently have to recourse. I mean there is no recourse under either statute or common law. Neither can an employee sue an employer for breach of privacy. There is a case Centre for Addiction and Mental Health v. Ontario Public Service Employees Union where the employer lacks reasonable basis for intrusion Same with e-main monitoring and the Internet. When you computer announces "You've got mail" The boss knows. Here is a survey from Hoffman 2003: 92% of companies monitor email 26% monitor all the time 38% monitor randomly 34% monitor in response to good reason 50% of companies have no guidelines or written policies More importantly, 2/3 of companies does not require the department or person monitoring to sign a confidentiality agreement. Sorry if I err in spelling or otherwise I don't have time to re-check what I wrote

I have to admit I don't have much practice on these video games - I mean this "E" symbol for everyone, would that indicate that perhaps there is less violence, just how to capture more bling bling The Japanese have really captured the market of the teens

Points to Ponder, if the earth was shrink to 100 people there will be: 57 Asians 21 Europeans 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south 8 Africans 52 would be female 48 would be male 70 would be non-white 30 would be white 70 would be non-Christian 30 would be Christian 89 would be heterosexual 11 would be homosexual 6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States. 80 would live in substandard housing 70 would be unable to read 50 would suffer from malnutrition 1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth 1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education 1 would own a computer

There is no law regulating the treatment of an employee oppose to patient, customer etc information in Ontario in private and provincially regulated companies. What are your views on extending PIPEDA application to all companies?
-
Could it be called "Women Progressive Party", women are fair, transparent, and accountable for all their decisions. We could allow 20% of males for equity purposes.

welcome to capitalism - you are allowed to pursue riches I mean big executives of big businesses or those who are charged with important jobs also take the burden of majority of risk so why can't they negotiate pay-off. Usually the employment contract contains besides scope of duties, confidentiality and 9 other clauses, detailed writing of compensation, termination, and modification. A good contract should anyway. Look executives and companies know what they are getting into and getting out of Also employers have obligations and employees have rights. I can suggest that if a person was lured from his place of employment and it does not work out that the law protect employees there is a case called cognos v. queen. Just a synopsis the company was required to pay a terminated employee for the years of service he accumulated at another company besides other payoffs. It is always better to settle these huge pay-off and be contented only one person got rich in the process otherwise you facilitate lawyers also getting rich. I mean how much jealousy can one people handle.

Women seem to make a conscious effort to suppress and destroy their own sexuality. This teen wants to capitalise on sexual liberation and make a public spectacle of a "problem" women know only too well. It is called suppressed sexuality, sensuality, whatever. Look at the teen sexual liberation this way. The teen wants to take to nudity and reshape her sexuality, to make it more manageable using pictures instead of unleashing the real power of sex in herself. I mean women are technically insatiable. I mean they can have multiple orgasm, continual orgasm, clitoral orgasms, orgasms on demand and so on. Women's capacity of orgasms is theoretically inexhaustible. Would you rather release these insatiable cunts instead of pictures?. I read somewhere that a perfect picture of women's superiority is one that showed the perfected woman naked, her back arch, her eyes shut, she lies prone pressing down on her pelvis, her mouth open and her nipples erected. Its just a picture.

Argus This is a short-sighted statement. It's like government not properly repairing our roads because "we don't have the money....." I am thinking more of a market place for added benefits. Are you saying that if you lock up offenders, you can deter them from committing more crimes if you increase the sentencing from 3 years to 5 years? But where are the added benefits if they would have already been "reformed" by year 3. Ok I wanted to agree with you and also note that there are disparities in sentencing - do you think that offenders distinguish from sentence time and jail time?. well I think that doing a minimum sentences bears no impact on the serverity of the sentence to the offenders. I mean you do have to take into consideration the nature of these crimes, the age of the person, and the certainty of the offense. Youths commit crimes because they have NO clear roles and direction defined for them and they are breaking away from parental control. The more serious crimes are committed by older people. Putting low-rated offenders such as youths into jails for long period would not work - and my speaker is suggesting restorative justice might be an alternative - he was a youth @ age 17 with a first crime. Also I recognized that offenders with serious history are the best predictor of recidivism. Argus did I gleam that you are suggesting a removal of discretion of one level of the justice system and shift decisions to some other level. Here is a flow chart for decision making Adult process flow chart I mean these lawyers are always trying to circumvent charges e.g. move to dismiss charges and poor juries who initially want to convict with excessive punishment is now swayed. Would persecutors take a burden for justice?
-
Ok I understand that currently for deviant behaviours we have laws that punish offenders by fines, incarceration etc. They pay the price for the crime. Lock 'em up in cages and throw away the keys has little chance of success. Plus as decent working people we have to contribute towards housing and feeding them - which is more outrage. I mean each person convicted for life cost us 1.5 million to keep them there for the rest of their lives. I wanted to see what you think about restorative justice. For justice we keep relying on formal justice system to work and deal with crime. If someone commits a crime usually the police come to get them and if convicted, they are remove from society. This is not necessarily, me, siding with the criminals. But, I wanted to see how we could address the criminal needs. I mean most criminals are far removed from themselves or they are rarely reminded of the crimes they committed. I mean they are dealt with impersonally in which they feel more alienated hence they continue to re-offend. Most of the time the victims remain just that victims and the community never get involve in participation of their own protection. What do you think of a victim-offender reconciliation program? In New Zealand there is circle sentencing - victims and community outline their expectations and offenders and families respond. It is an alternative Also since majority of the crimes are commited between the ages of 14-21 before these young ones become potential problems how can we manage delinquency

PocketRocket I don't think I am the one dismayed. I enjoy posting here but can only respond based on my own constrains, I am "on the go" most of the time. I would be majorly optimistic if I think I could make men worse off than they already are yes, sir

Tawasakm Posted on Mar 26 2005, 02:42 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, Tawasakm - without being specific, in order to engage that piece of writing on the forum for discussion, an alternative is French - and it is only tiny bits.

Sorry, if you read this posting previously, it is now translated to French with parts in English - This is a Canadian political forum so I thought it would be alright. De là, quelques points je voudrais mentionner: Anyway some of the points I wanted to take up: - prison is where poor people live - middle class white people are not in the prison - many people who are serving federal time should not be in the prison system like a petty theft or minor offense. - Men are mostly found in prison - People tend to get worst with the prison system - He sees the problem of crimes as society’s breakdown - Society do not know about crimes and hate those who commit it - Governments respond to public crys to punish and revenge criminals - Then a good business man says why pay so much money to keep criminals in prison. He says punishment and retribution dehumanised people who have been already dehumanised. Ce qu’il suggère est un program de reconnaître la potential et valeur d’un person qui aide a restorer quelquechose perdu comme la humanité. What he is suggesting is a program to recognise potential and worth of a person to help restore something lost like humanity. En quoi tu penses? What do you think?

Hello folks Are you guys analysing what I post while I am still here. I can read you know. (noticed, I didn’t say my ideology) ......added after thought, about the "swallowed whole and thoroughly internalized" - I can confirm I didn't do any of the sort. No lies now, I mean I understand political parties usually die swallowing their own lies. I can only sympathise. So if I went into too much detail, please consider it pre-digested material. I can only reiterate that no one should swallow more than they can digest. Why don't I clear up the smart comment here Which she contradicts about two paragraphs later by saying....QUOTE Maybe the men are smarter in their buying habits Well, it is exasperating to say the least that the men who utter nothingness to us also want to try and talk smart to us. For example if we make a statement to say, “twice two makes four”. Here is the demand: 1) what do you mean by twice 2) what you by two 3) what by makes 4) what four I mean some of you are really detailing the demand. So just for asking those questions it makes you respected, and smart. And then you also turn around to verbally remind us that you are the smart one, such self-conceit. So now, you've got brownie points, I actually credit you as smart, but you want to dispute it. But I don’t mind repeating what others think, most men are accredited as foolish shortly after they leave the womb and this is reinforce when in a hurry they marry a woman who seem to be less prudence than they are – so that they can always say “I am smart”. That is my explanation of smart. To The Terrible Sweal: The graph is correct. If you meant the line Po is to rise to A, I agree - it is difficult to draw a graph using only text.

It is ironic to call the Bush administration criminals. We have been colonizing people to their death over history to serve and secure our self-interest, well how do you think the western world developed. Bush is no different, with reasons of wanting to make sure the American people and the North American borders are safe, to make sure we are not the ones who would need to be free, or have some programs, like exchange oil for food. I mean lack of oil can collapsed an entire economy. Lack of food means people are simply poor, and we always wonder how in the world did they get to be this poor. In all the countries that have been colonized except for the few China, Germany etc people had to be freed, they were enemies, and needed to adopt to the Western way of thinking. The media has made us fearful of certain kinds and groups of people making us believe they are threats to our lives - immigrants are the most fearful ones, they are still not ... well...Freed. I think we don't know that folks are criminals unless there is some system for determining they are. And even then we never create a perfect system, much later we are always sorryful and have to pay some retribution.

I mean when you show up at the grocery stores which gender is mostly there. Who you think regulates milk, sugar, flour, eggs, grain I have experience with the agriculture sector. It is the worst sector for gender discrimination in the workplace to start off and they sell mostly to the females audience, the folks can go ahead and bake, and cook in the kitchen. You know molasses is also regulated worldwide using the USDA pricelist release every Monday morning - but I was indeed surprise when Stelco and Defasco bought into to using molasses for briquetting on the steel rods. You know the price for molasses when down - I noted this because there was a noted trend trading with molasess where the demand for yeast rised, which meant more demand for molasses - but it had no outcome on the price

PocketRocket Women head up only about 11% of businesses in North America. I of course cannot point to a figure of how many folks think that men are subtly conspiring against women. But I am glad that it is one of the issues of discussion on the boards however disappointing. I can understand some of the sensitivity and distress that men feel and experience when women are confrontational and making some seemingly justified statements. But, also I have to question how do we expand ideas if were to hasten and dismiss anything unknown into extinction. Look, taking some strong or mere perspective from a different viewpoint to explain and encourage some discussion while promoting some thoughts on issues, realities and images with regards to the gender is not foolish but necessary. For example, if I don't let you know what women are thinking, you'd still be guessing as usual, or indifferent and making assumptions. Engaging humour or theories, or serious or empirical discussion blends and brings a diverse voice to a common theme and a movement in some direction. You mean I can still afford to have voice a freedom of believes. oops, the constitution is not limitless you know, so were you intent on relaying this information, the males are the law makers I know this, I mean women are terribly underrepresented.

Ok for utility we will say it is the satisfaction the buyer gets from purchasing goods. The key point I wanted to make with utility is that it will generate declines as the buyer consume more. Hence the price that a person would be willing to pay also declines. So if there was a shirt purchased for 10$, and then another shirt purchased for 80$ then more shirts purchased for 5$. The satisfaction derived as in utility is in turn lesser for the 5$ shirt, similarly the 80$ shirt has even less satisfaction than the initial 10$ purchase. At a marginal diminish point there is no satisfaction in buying more shirts. So what I am saying is that for each shirt the person buys the less satisfied they will be hence they will be willing to pay less for their purchase. Consider this also money has a declining value. If you only had 100$ and you were going to buy 100 items @ 1$. Imagine you arrange how you value the items. Obviously, further down the list you go the less valuable the items are. Here is the kicker, additional monies therefore is worth less to you the more money you have. This sort of information explains why the more quantity you buy the less you pay. The Utility analysis is useful to determine consumer behavior and understanding of market demands. Because if the purchase of the next shirt is less satisfying, then a buyer is willing to pay less. As such, the demand price declines. Utility hardly sets the price. So according to me this is not true, there is usually less satisfaction buying more shirts when we speak of the utility analysis. But also I cannot plot the utility analysis unless I have a demand curve which shows price and quantity like in the graph I drew above. Now for the explanation of your prices. For the genders the prices are discriminatory. They exist in 2 separate markets with something unique, hence are less price sensitive. A company can charge a higher price P1 and selling a level of output Q1 in the first market and a lower price P2 selling a level of output 'Q2 in the second market; profits are greater than in that firm charged a single price P* (P2 < P* < P1 ) for all units sold. Companies usually make the attempt of price discrimination if the total costs are the same in either case. In order for these sort of prices to be varied companies have to prevent engagement in arbitrage like (buying in the second market at a price slightly above P2 and selling in the first market at a price slightly below P1 forcing both prices towards P*) and profiting from the price differences. The markets of the genders are kept separate hence the price differences. The red parts in the graph are profits, the blue are consumer surplus Ok lets talk about that 80$ shirt Its about pricing the shirts around how much is available. The higher the price the less is sold. In this case the blue parts of the diagram is important. The company will extract a surplus value (blue parts) as profits from the person buying where the person pays over and above the actual price. In my graph, there are three different prices for the same shirt. The price P0 is charged if the buyer chooses to buy Q0 quantity of the good. A lower price P1 is charged for a greater quantity Q1 and the price P2 is charged for the quantity Q2 I still blame the males for these price discrepancies – they are owners of the business. Oh, I forgot to say they if indeed we can reconcile the 2 markets the haircut of males rises to meet the females, the give up the number of times they can cut their hair. So it really does not make sense to change things for the males.
