It depends how you look at it, maybe he packed ship and set sail before he inccurred any more losses? Like someonw who sold nortel stocks before they hit 2 cents a share? Maybe he shouldn't have broken up with her in the first place, that is a good point, but should he go back to her, on that matter I am not convinced, mind you its been a while since I watched Dr.Phil. I think those in relationships are by far wiser if they don't hear all they want to hear. No one likes this good riddance scenario, its an emotionally wreck and women suffer more in these breakups, and take a longer period to recover, so explanations usually help with the sorry closure. I can't put a cost to broken relations or broken hearts. I certainly can't advise moderateamericain to recant his words, and guarantee that it will redeem him. He gets to decide all by himself.

You should not break-up with your girlfriend for trivial reasons if you didn't have a girlfriend for trivial reasons. What I didn't get is at the first call the lady said she was going to bed. Commonsense says to me that at 10:30 pm on a Monday night, a hard working lady who is done with college days needs rest to face the next business day. But, you determinedly called back after she went to bed and was supposedly asleep to see what exactly? -that she was actually asleep in a wink -or because of your general suspicions, and that you might have forfeit some trust in yet another female. Perhaps as you think about it more, you begin to lose respect, create possibilities fueled by other old issues and so you made a third call "look I've had it" Don't let folks like myself excite you with their opinions. But, you just don't invest "time" of one year and "money" and "effort" into romancing someone just to throw it away in an instant. Least you can you is to figure yourself out and give the lady her deserved explanation. .

Why not? Divorce is the topic of discussion and affects people well being or not There are lots of educated folks here, and perhaps those who are experienced and who can shed some light on divorces. I mean we are looking bleakly at Canada's divorce rate at around 40% and more if you'd like to count those who claim they are separated. It is part of the decay of society.
-
An uncontested divorce is probably the cheapest way out, only $447 court cost - this is much more that that marriage cost I say. But, the uncontested divorce can work out nicely without the lawyers if there are mutual agreements between the parties, plus, if you have a working separation agreement, makes it easier to agree. There is not much paper work to fill, Statement of Claim, Petition, Affidavit, Financial Waiver, Motion Record, Notice of Motion, Divorce Judgment etc. your thoughts

That's what the lawyer for the class action lawsuit was saying. That people ought to stand up against companies like Bell, and do it en masse to be heard. Remember when the media used to do an expose' or investigative reporting? How come no one is tackling this? Can someone file criminal charges on Bell, since they're really behaving in a suspicious manner with their handling of this scam? They usually settle quickly to keep you quiet I find - thats what they did to my bills Try cable instead of dial up internet service - save yourself these headaches.
-
I hope I am able to see a bit of the game before I retire the night
-
About 2 years ago I had a bill from Bell with the Sao Tome billing - it was about $35 bucks but they took it off - I don't recall what I said to them but I wrote to them and sent a copy to Ministry of Consumer affairs to look after it. I didn't speak with the customer service folks after I realise they do not have the authority to reverse the charges. I had a similar situation where I bought a Bell Mobility phone, and they added on Internet services without my knowledge on my kid's cell, the charge of that phone went up to $4,000 in month one and $3,000 by mid month two. I got these bill in the mail. Bell is too big to take care of their customers.

I don't care about gender, its not sexist. I only watch the best players, why waste time watching an inferior product. Just happens to be men in every sport. I don't believe that women in sports are top priority. Look, at the men lock out in hockey - women were still playing hockey but they never got coverage in the media. Men and sports and intertwined. Look, we continue to broadcast them so, bring in celebrities, give the athletes advertising contracts, showcase them in interviews, let them write a book and etc. Men promote Men. The sports that do receive some coverage in relation to women are those where the women are scantily clad and showing off their bodies. Figure skating and skimpy outfits go together, volleyball with bikini played at night - maybe this teases the otherwise horny males and retire them for the night with hallucinative images, the tennis. Women can succeed when they wear sexy appropriate outfits, showing their bodies. Women entering into hockey are mostly threatening to men because women want to challenge what it means to be stronger, explosive and faster. Men cannot handled women who can are seen as fitter, superior, and physically adept That is why we don't see much coverage and audience.

Why would I go and pay to see Chris Evert play Martina Navratilova if, with minimal effort, I can always find a local junior or senior men's competition with much more talent ... and it's free. Very good point. The women's national team trains competitively against male midget hockey players (midget being the level, not the size of people...). IMO, there is a simple reason that womens sports overall are far less popular than mens. Sports are activities to determine who is bigger, faster, stronger... and women aren't any of those things overall. First I think it is higher, faster, stronger it has nothing to do with bigger - a Freudian slip I imagine, sizing everyone Women I believe still suffer from their Cinderella complex and men by far outperform the females. However, the women will continue in the direction of the spirit of sports and close the gap of being fast, but you have to admit that the women are no where near the economics equivalent of men maybe thats what is meant by bigger. I simply wish to cheer our women athletes on - way to go folks - even when you didn't make it to the top - be proud that you give it your best.

I'd like you to define the two. My dad used to "spank" me with a short piece of plastic pipe. Where does that fall, spanking or beating. This is a very slippery slope. A swat on the behind is one thing, but using objects to spank are akin to beating. They hang me with a bicycle tube for undesirable behavior - I saw that old old movie "two mules for sister sarah" - I survived obviously It is better to appeal to the child intelligence, and use psychology

Liberals quickly pay Dinwall $420,000.00 severance etc for a job
RB replied to fixer1's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If a choice is given to resign - resignation is not voluntary - its that simple. The test is: would a reasonable person believe that Dinwall would resign from a government post? A person can allege that they resigned from their job ... for a reason that some changes occur - thats a breech, in this case a person becomes entitled to damages for constructive dismissal. I don't think the government would have won. Huh??? A choice is given to resign - it is not voluntary - what does that mean??? If you're implying that Dingwall was given a choice to resign or be fired - he certainly had that choice, not an uncommon one on termination anywhere. He knew that if he was fired, he'd get compensation as per his contract. if he quit, he wouldn't. He would have to prove that he resigned under duress, something that has never been mentioned, but more importantly soemthing he knew would cost him a half milion bucks. All he had to do to get the money was allow himself to be fired. OK - generally if a person gives a resignation notice and it is accepted by an employer - then only outstanding wages and vacation pay is due. If an employer gives someone a "choice" - you either resign - or be fired The courts usually find that this resignation is not voluntary There is a constructive dismisal that occurs under common law - where there is a fundamental breech of contract by the employer that entitles the employee to resign in response and claim damages I brought up the reasonable person believe because - I don't believe that a person would resign from a job if he did not have another job to go to - plus the fellow worked at a top job - if someone is found to be dishonest in their jobs - the courts usually look at the person history, age, position, level of compensation, availability of a similar job, length of service and work record - and find that the person needs discipline instead of dismissal McKinleyv. BC Tel [2001] 2 SCR 161, Litster v. British Columbia Ferry Corporation, [2003] BCJ no. 817 (SC) In this case I think Dinwall might have been able to capitalise further and held his employer liable for further damages such as - aggravated damages - like mental stress - punitive damages - extended wallace-type notice What I mean is that a resignation must be unequivocal - nothing lingering, in order to be treated as a resignation -

Well, thats just excellent that people get motivated to try out for their personal best. My kid and I are hitting the slopes early AM all of a sudden, and we hadn't done much all season. We even tried messing about with "Imagine" already, all in the spirit of the games.
-
So I watched the opening ceremony tonight. The highlight for me was: - The Ferrari Experience - wow, one could have an orgasm doing that - Women carrying the Olympic flag - The dove formation - Peter Gabriel rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" - Opera star Luciano Pavarotti, man that fellow has got some voice But, I am a sports fanatic, so I am going to be very clued-in, patriotic and updated with my games.

Well, firstly, so that I don't forget my agenda, the "good" and "bad" are promoted based on the male power structure. From my view I don't see a lot of fair maidens promoted. Yes? We need men to fight war currently, this gene business can come in just handy. Next, the gene business is actually, well, BIG BUSINESS for BIG BUSINESS MEN who are very serious. Serious enough to patent "cut and splice". This means that life can become simply an invention. Consider, that we have mapped the entire DNA sequence, and now able to manipulate Exxon Valdez oil clean up.. affordable cost of course say $300,000, sort a have your new prize your way. Anyway, I am concerned over the direction cloning can take. We can have huge corporations just doing hi-tech racism, meeting the requirements and specifications of their wealth clients. In my opinion genetic engineering belongs and should be placed in the same category such as nuclear engineering, and other break through. It is too powerful, and can fall into the hands of big businesses, emotionalism, motivations or parents, misfits, et al. Nowadays when I travel, I do the check check. - at the airport - check - plane is there - check - passport in hand - check - plane has wheels - check - plane has a pilot - check - plane has wings - check - is it safe? - check - all things I can see - check, check So you want the new arrival the be free of genetic deformity - we have 10 different ways to make your baby - pick one way - check - face is there - check - tail - check - eyes - check - heart - wait a minute, we requested a heartless fellow Attention, Attention, this clone has failed this testing, check, and forfeits the right to live. I am not persuaded to agreed with promotion of making human clones. I mean who would answer to the poor unwanted third world countries as they try to plan for their 10th generation of the future? Can you answer that? Tell us about some methodology you are going to use to wipe out nations and bring in desirables? Almost 90% of investment on this cloning and gene business are human related and most it is in relation to women's issues, and as a woman I need lots of answers.

Congratulations Greg and FTA Lawyer Thank heavens some folks are having kids so that the rest of us can stay out of trouble

You seem to have an extremely bitter view of the world. How I make friends is by talking with them, often sharing common experiences, (such as work or hobbies) and often similar political viewpoints (but the last one isn't as important). Race or gender do not have a place on the 'fleabag's like-o-meter'. The human body is merely a vehicle, transportation for 'the soul'. I only make judgements of what is on the inside. Same for 'beauty'. I know a few people that are considered 'attractive', but are shallow and ugly inside. Their looks become way less endearing when you get to know them. I agree, but from the other side. An a**hole is an a**hole no matter what color his skin is. I don't see skin colors. That may be hard for some people to believe given some of my harsh postings, but I am not a racist in any sense. I believe a thread like this is racist and anytime a label is put on someone for whatever reason to do with skin color, the underlying theme is racism. There is NO underlying theme of racism here, that is not the intention. No, I don't. My interest is not in the objects per sa but I have a fascination of man and his working superorities. I think that the ability to influence is based on the knowledge we gathered, which in turn impacts our sensibilities. When this happens, we are always in fashion hence well duh, "we never go out of fashion". The accessory construct are issues which we cannot pull out of any books but yet we can appreciate that it is always so near. I am sorry, you folks seem disenchanted, but this forum is an avenue that allow us to broaden our views. Because so inverterate is our habit of criticism, this time I would like much of this thread direction to lie with deviant thinking. For example, I was scanning the TV for something to watch one night recently and the conservative party leader was speaking to the media. In a brief instance of flicking the channels, I did notice the postures and faces that would impact. Whether it was marketing or politically correct, who knows. I recognise an obscure fact and I decided to give it a name. Would it have been better if I said that all people are entitle to be valued by their important moments. How many black faces can have those moments?. I can see that I will fall into criticism also for saying that we also measure our friends by their best moments. I mean face it folks, we all have friends to varying degrees and for some we would like to promote them especially when we look into their eyes of saddest, we find ourselves burden with responsibility for moving them to gain freedom without much gain. I feel that the liberty and power is still untenable and so new strategies of how to release folks from their sadness have manifested in accessory. I feel that in talking about people as accessories personal stakes are of higher value. In layman terms, look as fast a we see a shinny bling bling, we set off to acquire it, our value changes to a different and higher level.

The Globe and mail right or left wing?
RB replied to compaq905's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So is this the meaning of "playing politics", that the conservatives and their surrogates will say anything to secure a win? -
Prior to the creation of the term "politically correct", what you call an "accessory" was referred to as a "token". Typically, a token Jew was admitted to an otherwise WASP club to show the club's liberal nature. The American writer Tom Wolfe also invented the term "radical chic" which described the popularity of otherwise extreme ideas - for example, T-shirts with a portrait of Che Guevara. Of course, people who hang out with people who happen to be black may just like each other's company. They may seem to like each other. Accessories are still defined as nonessential in my opinion and in the case of backs constructed this way but, this time they are quite desirable and hence the effect of liking each other
-
Perhaps you do feel this way, but I think that this is one of the kookiest things I have read here in a while. If you have wealth, even better, you can also accessorize with kids in your arms. The Hollywood folks are becoming notorious.

The Globe and mail right or left wing?
RB replied to compaq905's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What if I told you the right wing folks keep moving left and pushing the lefties further left. I mean the Conservatives picked up votes based on moving their social agendas closer left, you agree? -
ahem, I can't fire myself, and I am the only one who can fire me - I post when I have free time.
-
Thats the truth. I feel that if one black face appears in marketing materials or you hang out with your one black friend. You have accessorized your life, makes it all seem geniune

its a liberal day out there thats also the sign of ontario - my guess
