  1. My nephew Jerome, age 8, came running home from school, panting, panting, shaking, closed the door in a hurry, about to collapse, and scared out of his wits Yes, some ghost has been following him for a week now, after school, seems to be waiting for him. It looked like the woman in the photo, dress from head to toe in black floating clothing. I could say Jerome get use to seeing all these different kinds of dresses..yes He ended up in therapy
  2. I am not particularly impressed with the findings. Minority women having those paid jobs would also have to be twice as highly educated. The trouble overall that I have is that jobs at the C-level role (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs etc) for women don't come by often enough for minority or other (whites) way often enough. In the government women only represent about 9% of top jobs and about 11% in the corporate section - maybe less. I can understand that there is not much turn over for the CEO jobs, is limited, and that we probably have to wait an entire generation (65 years) for those CEO's to retire or pass on, and then for many sons and one woman to be considered. On the other hand I might even decide to favor the report about because it gives an opportunity to make a good business case scenario for women (hey, women are making more dough) and to present the information to top companies and to the gullible public.
  3. Mr Layton Windsor, Ontario has an unemployment rate of about 10% and unofficially it is much higher. Please let us know what is your party involvement to help the people of Windsor, and also does your government have contingencies in place to resolve such big issues as to when sectors of companies are going out of business should not have such adverse effect on an entire city.
  4. Both are awful not to experience but is a reality. I would say this, that perhaps a man might feel "less of a man" because of castration, a pressure mostly from the way society view the male etc. Men are hesitant to visit a doctor because the doctors tell them "things" that seem to decimate the macho image (I have worked with enough men to make this claim). Though women feel their pain and loss and am not sure that majority of women feel less of a women. I could be wrong. Women are verbal about their loss, and has the support of men and women. I mean some women have not much of a breast, walk around with a minus -A size cup. Yes! But I believe that being able to catch a breast cancer in time is viewed as such an overwhelming relief, that mastectomy is seen not as a frustration but cure.
  5. Thanks #2 worked much more easy to read

  7. Guyser so sorry for your lost, my condolences to you - Sept 11 is a really sad day in history
  8. It was horrible, a horrid tragic event London bombing. Some of my work mates and I were celebrating London's successful Olympic bid for the 2012 games - and so we were having much fun in the wee hours of the morning at Piccadilly SQ until we got kicked out around 2:30 am, we moved to King's Cross the bunch of us, decided it was boring and headed about 4 hours North from London. So you can imagine how shell shock the bombing was for me it was the horror all over again. I felt spaced out, and was glued to the TV for some news, mostly good news that people were not hurt. But, as we know the acts were deliberate, intentional and malicious to hurt as many people as possible and destroy in its path as much as possible. I mean we left London a safe place, the initial feeling, what happened? The British folks are truly sensitive; the TV carried the story as it unfolded without the gruesome pictures. Strangely, you'd think at that time, "I'd better get going home", but is really doesn't seem safe anywhere. I've known my friends for ages but now we are so much closer In a bigger picture I think that these horrible and tragic events do bring people together in solidarity and united we do have the strength to protect the freedoms we enjoy in our space.
  9. I don't think words can express the sadness and horror of these attacks on the western world. My daughter and I had visited the very buildings only days before the attack, at that time the pictures we took were fun and of pleasant memories. Now its sadness and distress even after all these years and we didn't know the folks that hurt nor are we related to anyone that suffered. I don't have answers, but we have returned to the area twice since, it is closer than London, we had left King's Cross at 3AM that morning before the London bombing. I think mostly we returned for the some private solace and closure. A memorial has all kinds of symbolism and meanings for different people. The tribute on TV is kind but you are flooded with these images again, so so distressing I really don't know how the families cope with such senselessness, such deep loss, and such insane tragedy. God bless the American people, Canadians, the British and all those love ones that died Sept. 11.
  10. oh heck, i hope 25k is not the the salary for a newbie lawyer today.
  11. If life was fair, we'd all be good, rich, bald, fat and right. I mean were you thinking that if life is fair 'good things can happen upon good people', 'bad things.....' One poster above points out people may win because they have a drive and want to win, or they make right choices in life. Hard work is huge incentive payoff, seems fair to win if you struggle a bit. I can now add, society also help create the boundaries of fairness, we make laws in which a capitalistic mind can see the riches and go for it but puts a check in place to keep people streamlined and accountable. The unfairness notion of course becomes artificial at some point around where the boundaries of law extend and go no further. I meant the law only goes <----> this far and stops. So we do have to rely our moral conscience. Is it right, left or wrong - I think this is what is in question - yes. I refer to the documentaries of 9/11 that kept showing all weekend on TV. Very bad things happened to very good people that day, and as you listen to the stories of heroes, those who made it alive and those who stayed behind to help others and didn't make it, how unfair is that? Like right and wrong, fair and unfairness is not arbitrary. It is of course limited to the choices we make and kicks in at the point where the law fails us. It seems to me that people do create little system of justices all by themselves for themselves, and put forth reasoning for themselves why they did or didn't do it. Should I stop to help this lady on the stairs knowing in few minutes we can all die, dilemma. An accident occurs on the road my friend dies, and I am still here - how unfair is that? bad things are happening to good people - just how unfair is life
  12. I mean companies do not have all the aces, a reason why they keep searching. In '99 I didn't want to move to the US with my company so was looking around for a job, and met with the first HR person, after 5 minutes I told "her" (observation:HR is mostly run by females??) it was the end of the interview and if "she" had nothing much to add I was outta there, I left. The following week, I accepted a job with the government a consulting role, 1 interview, my most formal interview ever and I even stayed for 5 years. I think I was colonized not to leave soon, and I had jokingly promised not to take off. I have since wondered whether loyalty to an employer is a good thing, as I stay true to my word. My last job offer was in a parking lot after 10 minutes of talks and 20 minutes following coffee - the coolest interview Do you have any coolest unexpected experience with the job interviews to share?
  13. HR departments have always been a necessary expense in companies; HR are usually the first to go in times of hardship The trouble have always been that HR do not contribute to the bottom line I mean how can you do 3 interviews 45 minutes or more each time for a clerical job I should add that the recruiting companies intending on making money and supplying a clerical staff to company value their time, and would send a person to start a job asap and in a hurry
  14. well if the references are checked and she is going thereafter, i'd say likely an offer - but that's only speculation
  15. well, i would be a bit anxious if i am heading for #3 interview to confirm which job really - what a waste of time, first you didn't make an impression, second you didn't make an impression, sorry to say lass. someone is really not doing well, it must be those folks with the jobs. if it is a junior position it really should not take much effort to see a fit of skills, and especially if they are many opportunities usually the recruiters fit you into an appropriate job and interview for the position a bit more senior job - a first screening and then to the hiring department manager more senior jobs - usually is about 3 interviews and then guess what it is usually a competition between 2 likable fellows. then the names are drawn from a hat. if you are good, companies usually seek you out, informal interviews - one is enough Oh, well, I am rooting for your neighbor to work so that we are at full employment, production is at capacity, and we are all paying taxes.
  16. I would say that women are having more partners now than previously. Well, it seem to coincide with the delayed marriage, the dating scenarios with the many opportunities to try kissing as many frogs to get to finally get to a prince. I wouldn't be too shock to hear of a very low statistics in number of virgins heading down the aisle
  17. You folks are very quick to chatter, and call racism to anything disagreeing with your restricted perspective. I did post a topic a while back on “blondes” and was looking for a consistency on the maintenance of their success. Well, it is obvious they are, how to say the least, denied to be genius. I can proffer now that “Caucasian White” as other kinds of people is imperishable that there is a construct of culture and adaptation that is simply easily changed or destroyed. That is what happens as civilization poses itself as a re-agent and mixes everyone and everything. For ages whites have been aggressive, mixing, free forcible, propaganda spreading and assimilating others who mimic their styles. You flatter yourself with self-love and legend of pure white found in the fables. I mean there are so many shades that are imperceptibly pushed before the eyes; I am hesitant to say ask where the white begins and ends. What I can perceive is the vanity of men would like to think that their blood advantage was not of culture but praises more personal to him. Well, it is a personal thing to be a Caucasian I gather. To recap we want an ancestry that produces a symmetry that reaches as far as to the wit. Well, maybe begin the renown then. Perhaps you might want to examine how thoughts from Graham Bell, Margaret Atwood, Belinda Stronach, Pamela Anderson, Don Cherry, Mordecai Richler, William Ricker, Pierre Trudeau (name your Canadian) exists here in Canada. Is this by parentage or the nature of a re-agent?
  18. I mean why are we so worried about securing/protecting values and sentiments of Caucasians. All the whites ever did to other cultures was to convert, mate, destroy and wipe out the cultures....yes? Isn't it time for bye bye, good riddance to inevitable Strange how we are always wanting to free people, protect them .... by imposing our own democracies as in Iraq Least we sit around pondering about a hold that is simply slipping away, like: The less we see the less we are likely to have! I mean, look, the worry really comes to this - who is going to rule the world, who calls the shots, who has population numbers, who has the wealth, this is much more concern for whites...yes?
  19. maybe I misunderstood this thread, but isn't white culture widespread, what's the worry? White culture shows up in every part of this country, in belonging to a western nation (we also influence Europeans to be westerners), in the way of dress, the way we speak, the system of values we adopt, church, education, in other institution are all influenced by whites and plus whites still head majority of key institution to carry on with culture of values, norms, laws....yes? Now if you did say that technology is a major shift and is a cause to be worried for culture ... ok I don't buy that white culture is decaying, we are reminded in this culture in everything that we do, the way we greet folks, shake hands, smile, welcome others, gather around the kitchen to peel potatoes for dinner, dress for dinner, play piano after dinner yes? Perhaps the worry is mostly what usually happens after dinner at the white folks home. Maybe the white folks need open dialogue/disclosure on their sexual habits, so start your discussions, then start your campaign for white folks, discussions on survival of genes, instructions as to whom they should mate and how to mate - obviously a problem, special education to increase white population (I think the government buys into special ed) maybe then we can see some more visibility of white population, indeed as this seem to be the worry... its not about culture....unless the whites are promoting a sexless culture that has not caught on with other cultures
  20. Variety in the gene pool makes for a healthy population! Do I care? No. Not really. If they consider themselves Canadian, share our common mores and pass those same values onto their progeny, I could not care less what shade their skin may be. There was, probably still on-going study - Harvard - I had posted this link a few years ago They invited folks to look at pictures of faces of people and they record keyboard stokes of who is favored - I believe whites were favored over 80% of the time. I took the test and my score was higher than 80% despite my own inclination to be non-bias. It was much disapproving for my own sensibilities and when it's time for jury duties. Well in a North American context I do believe that many other races would like to mimic Caucasians, hence carry on some values - the only trouble is that it is simply fantasy to pretend, the others just don't do well economically, socially, politically or in justice.
  21. the way I am posting 5 years plus another 2 years makes me a full member, next 30 years I join the ranks of senior ... COOL
  22. I don't believe that you have as much as lost your culture that you need to protect it - whites have their ideology that they carry about and practice and it is protected. You have to admit that you are feeling this way because you are simply out numbered hence overwhelm
  23. I recall playing with toy guns, but they were very brightly color: red/yellow and you can distinguish a toy from a real gun. I mean you can never mistake what is toy. I look at the toys today and a five year old can easily take a real gun, aim and play - also never underestimate the senselessness of parents where they keep the real guns accessible to children. Unless toy guns are potential tools to be used to commit a crime, I think that toy guns should look like toys and ok to play with. I can easily understand a parent concern especially if there was no discussion with the child about guns and violence and about the differences between TV and video game violence, toy guns and real life violence and gun discussion in general.
  24. I was a rebellious kid and teen so I have a greater experience of hitting, smacking I never felt I deserved such punishments and voice my opinions and got smacked about for that too...also called being disrespectful No child should be allowed to suffer some end results from sheer frustrations, of abuse, of failed parenting, and bullying little ones As parents if you cannot control and manage your tempers, and as you "think about hitting kids", also recall as a child you did not take well to being smacked - I mean you all have stories The law is meant to protect that one child who will need it most, and all children when those in authority decide to think it is time for hitting and lashing out, and to go berserk
  25. About 2 years ago I was surprised and dismayed by some information I read and for the first time I actually looked out of my office window for what it seemed like an entire afternoon. Reminiscing now, the view was dismal. I never looked out of the window again.
