  1. I don't know why images don't work here anymore, but this is hilareous. Go have a look! http://xark.typepad.com/my_weblog/images/gay_marriage2.jpg
  2. Suspects. Criminals (when convicted). Terrorists (if convicted for the crime). Extrmists. Really, how interesting. Tell us more, you're SO wise!
  3. You hadn't heard of the ice cores? It was recent news. I prescribe a little less time on forums and more time keeping an eye on the real world for you. Here's a better site: http://www.chesapeakeclimate.org/news/news_detail.cfm?id=95 Have at 'er.
  4. What on the website is "crap eco-alarmism"? As for your claim that there's no consensus on the cause of global warming, here's more from that same "crap eco-alarmism" website: http://allpoliticsnow.com/content/view/15/1/ Are the claims made there also "crap eco-alarmism"?
  5. Indeed. He's all over this cause he knows fear = votes.
  6. You're an ass. I have never denied that global warming is happening in my conversations with you. I have denied the importance of the anthropogenic aspects of global warming. Big difference. So much for your grasp of reality, and your reading comprehension skills. No wonder you take crap eco-alarmism as gospel truth. On the one hand you deny any denial of global warming, and on the other you call it "crap eco-alarmism". Who's the "ass" again?
  7. The same kind of universe in which global warming isn't happening. The denial universe, full of simple-minded folk.
  8. What resources are being wasted because of naming it thus? Read the original post link. sheesh.
  9. Check out the "LIAR ALERT" on this site, they're calling out an organization advertising through google ads called "cooler heads coalition" which is a global warming denial group: global warming debate,, That is good!
  10. Indeed. Using the same tactics in controlling the masses should also be frowned upon. You have to be joking if you actually believe that this is somehow a plot between Harper and all other agencies involved. This has been going on for two years, it started with the liberals, so how on earth could Harper have engineered it all. Talk about tinfoil hat time. I have no idea what you're talking about. You've obviously misunderstood something completely. The tactics I'm talking about are wholly perpetrated by the Conservative party. No need for "other agencies". And it's something that's begun just since the election.
  11. Just like all the attacks on black churches in the South. Same deal, huh?
  12. Indeed. Using the same tactics in controlling the masses should also be frowned upon.
  13. Yes, Krusty understands the cops more than Augustus. I wouldn't agree that "Muslims were trying to conduct an act of terrorism" though, anymore than I would say my neighbours Catholic daughter got pregnant. He's a practicing Catholic, she's just the daughter of a Catholic.
  14. Meaning that the police don't jump to conclusions but you apparently do. I'm quite sure that the police (most of them for sure) hold the same opinion as I in the matter. Police aren't stupid, you know. Mayb you're confused over what the police can say publicaly and what they can think privately. That doesn't even make sense. It sounds like more cloaked bigotry, is that it?
  15. You go ahead and do that Certainly, it IS a new government. That is the truth. However, when I hear the PM repeating the phrase several times (er...at every opportunity) and see his government using it at every opportunity I have to call a spade a spade. In this case the spade is propaganda. To what purpose? Who knows. I guess we'll find out when the next election rolls around.
  16. Ah the tried and true rightwing outrage "THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING!!!" a.k.a. "I haven't heard Muslim leaders speak out/condemn". An oft-repeated attack on Muslims. Muslim leaders in Canada repeated a condemnation for terrorists. Guess you don't hear what you don't want to hear. In a month no doubt you'll be repeating the same lie about never hearing Muslims condemning terrorists.
  17. From the link: Maybe that's what's wrong with saying so. What's wrong with saying we're at war with Al-Q? Why is that somehow less for you? This idea that "we always have been" at war with terror is stupid. In the past nations have gone after specific enemies. The intelligence community has tracked enemies who may or may not use terrorism. It's not necessary to throw out an open invitation to people to use terrorism by constantly repeating a declaration of "war on terror". it's just plain dumb.
  18. Not at all. It supplies a quote from Hitler about propaganda through repetition. That's not associating Stephen Harper with Hitler, that's providing context for political propaganda the Conservatives are currently employing. "new government" = propaganda. Surely you don't disagree.
  19. Besides the fact that you were replying to Wilber, I don't see where/how I was implying anything that you claim I was. I presented a news item, told you what the cops said, and expressed my opinion that it's quite obviously related to the arrests of the alledged terrorists. How are you able to say I'm implying "'our' side is worse because 'we' smashed a couple windows..."? I said the attack was motivated by the weekends events. You rightwingers are always twisting what others say. It's an affliction.
  20. I don't see the article associating Harper with Hitler. That's ridiculous.
  21. Welcome to a Conservative government. They will fiddle while the city burns. Look at what's happening in the USA right now...an anouncement from Bush that he'll pursue a constitutional ammendment to protect the "traditional" definition of marriage. Good thing the adults are in charge!
  22. There's always a campaign "afoot". There isn't always a concious repetiation of a particular phrase happening, is there? As the article points out, he used the term "new government" twice in one day talking about terrorism. And if you go look at the canada.gc.ca site what do you see? "CANADA'S NEW GOVERNMENT" appears twice. Try googling it! I did. It's pretty odd, but not if you consider the basics of political propaganda as the article presents in the form of Hitlers words. I think Stephen needs to just be himself and stop listening to his paid hypnotists.
  23. You put the people who smashed the mosque windows on your side, and the mosque is on the side of terrorists? You want Muslims deported as well if I remember correctly. Very nice.
  24. I'm thankful you're not a cop, Gerry. Meaning what?
  25. What's wrong with the 'fight against terrorism'. Fight is descriptive and emotionally neutral. What's wrong with a "fight" or a "war" or a "global struggle" or whateva against a specific enemy? Because then it's not permanent and open-ended and politically useful.
