  1. Are nutcases. Except that in many, many cases the "company values" are written by the executives. That is what makes them good executives. Financial management skills. Want empathy? See a counsellor (or your grandma). It is very accusatory and serves no purpose. Nothing should be run by psychopaths. Name one thing that should be. I wouldn't want a psycho delivering my mail, so I guess you think we should test them too?
  2. A handle on my values? Are you actually being serious? What did I say that brings my values into question? I also never said a word about bikinis, so if you're going to screw up another poster's comments do it well. Bikinis are absolutely appropriate for 3-4 year olds. So if kids go to mom-n-tots swim class, the evil bitch whores wearing the bikinis should be forbidden? Get your head out of your ass. Katy Perry is hot. She has a great "chest". I guess she could "bind" it down, but I don't think that would be right.... Why so bent out of shape because Katy's boobs show a little? THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH KIDS SEEING THE FEMALE FORM IN THE WAY KATY SHOWED IT. Is that clear enough for you?
  3. One other quick question: What would you do if a CEO showed to have very bad tendencies? What's the next step? Does the person get forcibly removed from his office? Is that person discriminated against because of a mental illness? Isn't that against all of your hug-everyone leftist doctrines? Okay. That was five questions.
  4. So, do you think the "testing" of private citizens is appropriate? I thought that you were against "jack boot" tactics. Guess you're no better than Mein Herr Harper, eh?
  5. Chocolate, Porsches, bikinis and big screen tvs aren't either. May not have been necessary, but DAMN it was nice. I for one really, really like her norms.I think norms on display like that should be the norm. and to think I'm the one people call right-wing socially conservative.
  6. Yes there are....here. There is not a thing that Canada can do to enforce it's laws in another soverign state. Mexico is an autonomous country, not a territory of Canada. Mexican law trumps Canadian law.
  7. You can "demand" anything you want. It's not going to happen. Anyone (male or female) that spouts off about how their ideas are the only "real" ones, and everyone else is misguided and needs to ne treated as a "criminal" is acting as though they are some kind of monarch - hence "Little Princess". If Jacee were a man, I would have called "him" a Little Prince or Mein Heir or whatever. Please feel free to report me and "demand" my immediate banning from this board. The politically correct element has become completely out of control over the last couple of years so, unfortunately, it will not be as big a loss to me as it once would have been. When these "activist idiots" get on their high horses and begin calling down all manner of people who do not bow to their eco-religion, people like them (and you) cry foul. I will say this then - grow up Cyber. If the eco-children can't stand up for themselves, then this board has become a daycare. (P.s. - I called her an "idiot" as you requested. Feel better?)
  8. This kind of technolgy would be amazing! Think...for those of us on the prairies to not only be able to power our homes, but to be able to find advancing submarine fleets would help greatly in our fight against...uhm...who are we fighting? And to be able to install a country-wide commercial flight trtacking network...awesome.
  9. No, I'm not against all regulations (it's a huge part of what I do). But you're forgetting that Little Princess is against anything resourse-related, even though she doesn't have clue what the hell she's talking about. Regulations should be realistic and doable or they're not worth the paper they're written on. We can have a discussion on that any time you wish. Jacee, however, makes "arguments" that equate to "man, we need to stop the man because he keeps men down, man, down.". The "movement" against resourse extraction and use sounds very child-like and is only missing the soundtrack of a bunch of two year olds stomping their feet.
  10. Why? Because he has an opinion that you disagree with? Topaz askeed for comments and he gave one. Since Mexico is not some middle eastern country in the middle of a war, I wouldn't say this girl should be abandoned due to her own stupidity. That being said, the Canadian government should limit it's involvement to ensuring she gets a fair trial by MEXICAN standards and in accordance with MEXICAN laws. She wasn't in Canada so Canadian laws don't apply. Don't like it? Don't leave Canada.
  11. So let me get this straight...the kid has an opinion (usually wrong) and just because he hasn't been baptized in the bullshit-colored water of the Church of Suzuki, you guys turn and attack your own. Nice. Jacee IS against all the things that make our economy run - doesn't matter if her ideas make sense...His Holiness David has spoken and therefore she must follow without question. OLP made the right call on that one. If it comes out of the ground, it is evil. I used to think the most annoying part of this board was the pro-indian posters (like what's-his-dork now), Posit, the idiots that were all about "Mohawk warriors" in Caledonia, etc... That annoyance has been replaced for the most part by a bunch of self-proclaimed Protectors of the Earth (a division of the Church of Suzuki) - also known as the wacky, eco-freaky wing of the occupy meathead movement. They too shall pass. By the way Jacee, Yes, you will be ignored. We have always ignored you. We always WILL ignore you. You mean nothing to those of us in the real world (you know, with real money, bills, cars that WE own - not our parents, and JOBS). You and your little friends are nothing more than a passing oddity to most people.
  12. Natural Gas yesterday - $3.25 (three year low). Gas (fuel) 99.4 where I live. Wood - $7.95 for a small arm bundle. Suncor and the rest of the big boys (Shell is the most blatant) promote their "green energies" programs because it's mandated by CAPP. Gotta show the "caring" side of the O&G business if you want government approvals on new production leases. None of these companies make any "real" money on the alternative fuel markets - barely a drop in a very large bucket. But the better the program sounds, the more little hippies/BC/eastern bastards will fuel their Mazda 3's and Nissan Cube's at those stations. I love it when you see those mickey mouse "wind farms" in southern Alberta...people don't realize that those mark the land as "resources owned" property (and meanwhile we're drilling horizontally underneath with a big Precision Drilling or Nabors Drilling triple). Do you think they're drilling for wind? (p.s. - how do you think they generate the electricity to power the little kiosk power centers for those morons with electric cars? Hint: either coal or natural gas)
  13. I pay far more in taxes than you will ever earn. The rest of the people are not my responsibility. I may choose to donate heavily (which I do) but I will not be coerced into it. The level of taxation in this country is already "criminal". You don't have a job - that's correct. But as long as you have to buy duct tape to build your little protest sign, you're improving someone's financial situation. Go ahead and try. See where that gets you. Nowhere, I'll bet. Danger to the public? Really? Well then, please go ahead and try to deal with me directly little one. What are you going to do, sing protest songs in my ears REALLY loud until my eardrums rupture? Is that part of your grand plan? Again, come and take it. You want a revolution? Times up - start one. Only, remember, if you start a fight, be prepared to finish it. My "kind" will not lose...you will. So get to it; no sense dawdling. And the quotes above this show where the morons that start the violence will come from. Idiotic beliefs. Good thing they'll be too baked on weed to bother attacking.
  14. I never did get over MS screwing up the dashboard from the original. Just what I always wanted...a bobblehead character so I can look like I belong with the rest of the 8 year olds on WII. That, and it made my Arcade version useless (although the standard one still worked). Xbox never had browsing capabilities and still doesn't (Bing doesn't count because it's garbage). I don't know why I ever bought three of these freaking things (1 original, 2 360s). The PS3 seems better (only bought it to play Blu-ray) but it's just kept in the motorhome. I liked the way it streamed video from the computer, but typical Sony machine won't play half of them for some reason (DRM?) Our WII is only used by my daughter the odd time - so it sits. If there will be "free" movies on Live, you can bet your ass that there is an annoying catch. MS gives nothing away for free, or without bothering the hell out of you. Wouldn't surprise me to see them demand paid product placement in the games from their developers or something along those lines. XBOX could actually function as a "whole home" entertainment center, but first they would have to quiet it down from the 180dB or so it runs at...
  15. Alberta will continue to ramp up production out of Ft McMurray and ALBERTA will make more money. Don't worry, we'll still send the easterners their allowance so they can buy their mac & cheese. Oh, and nobody gives a damn if the basically-dead manufacturing sector is negatively impacted. Those out of work guys can come out here and we'll give 'em jobs as laborers. Pay starts around $22/hr.
  16. The Pope is a hypocritical bastard. As leader of the Roman Cannibals ("body of Christ....nom nom nom"), he claims to support peace, reconciliation, love and all that - and then protects (by decree) those that rape children. Real nice. There is a (unfortunately true) video on the interwebs. Look up "Priest Off" for a very sick laugh. By the numbers, far too many of these self-proclaimed "holy men" are child-raping fuckers and need a bad case of lead poisoning. The Pope, covering for them, is absolutely no better by any measure.
  17. Maybe doesn't hinge, but it's definitely true.
  18. I believe strongly that there should be alignment of age restrictions. If it's 18 to vote, then it should be 18 for the right to die for your country (military service), 18 to drink (tell me you should be able to die for your country but not have a beer), and 18 as the age of consent. If the consensus is 16 across the board, then so be it. The problem with fighting the young age is that people like me want the "young, murderous, terrorist bastard" Omar to swing from a rope (preferably the way Saddam did), but don't want the same little bastards voting. Can't have it both ways. I'd rather the little bastard swing. So let them vote.
  19. Unfortunately for them, the Korean's and the Japanese and the Americans and the...well...everyone else builds them better and cheaper. So they can't build 'em cheap because a guy that puts a screw in a seat makes $100 grand a year, and they can't make 'em good because they're built in Canada. Maybe they could build 'em and ship 'em to, I don't know, Kewbek? Or Russia? What about taking all those laid-off auto workers and having them man the customer service phone centers for some big Pakistani or Indian corporations?
  20. "Most Agreeable Post" maybe, but not "Suckiest". I haven't looked, but I'm sure one of the "Jack is dead" posts would snow this under easily. Besides, even without the tongue-in-cheek, the post is exactly bang on. I would love nothing better than for the ROC to quit "sending money" to Alberta - in exchange, of course, for us not "sending money" outside the province. The oilsands belong to Alberta, not Canada, and all the money changing hands should be left to those of us that reside in the province.
  21. Yes, I did survive and no one (read: society) had to bail my ass out. This would be what you refer to as a "mistake" - when someone doesn't need a welfare-style handout to survive. People like me call it a success. Survival of the fittest.
  22. I never asked you to care. It's not really your business to. My standard of living is just fine thank you. The "Ted and Nancy story" is demonstrative/symptomatic of the why society has gone off the rails. Call it what you will. I know quite well that these things exist. So do mountains and people with six fingers on each hand. Interesting, but still not my problem. By your definition of "properly" not mine. My responsibility begins and ends with my family, not yours. So there's more than one stupid person in the world. What a newsflash. There's also how many millions of smokers out there that will die knowing full well that cigarettes are causing it (at least in part). Not my problem. Not yours either. The information is out there, and by out there I mean directly in their faces. If they choose to ignore it, that's their problem. Again, the HDTV scenario is a symptom. There is no one magic bullet for current economic problems so quit acting like this plays no part in it. If they quit making tv's, these people would spend money they don't have on something else. Maybe beer and popcorn? Modern welfare state. There you go; there's your problem. Maybe there IS a magic bullet. As for my kids, they are true-blue Albertans who, at the ages of 13 and 14, already know "the system" doesn't owe them any favors. They'll be fine.
  23. People here need to care a little less about the "board rules" when it comes to minor things like this. That type of comment used to be commonplace on here years ago and it was better when it was. No harm no foul.
  24. By the way - what you call a "chronic societal problem" used to be known as a "fact". There have always been dumb people. The biggest mistake society ever made was trying to fight against Darwinian theory.
  25. Why would I give a damn about someone else's credit mistakes or lack of knowledge? You and I will never see eye to eye on this, because we have differing views on one very important point: I believe in personal responsibility and you don't. Whether it's overusing credit, or alcohol, or drugs, or committing murder, or internet porn, or not paying a mortgage - it's that individual's responsibility. Not mine. Not yours. You, on the other hand, seem to believe that no one is responsible for anything. Everything negative that happens is for society to fix. And feel guilty about. Alcoholic? Must be because society put liquor laws and stores in place. Shoot some heroin in your arm? Society's fault. Commit murder? Must have had an abusive childhood - let the guy walk. Credit problems? That's because those evil credit card companies/banks dared to give a low life the opportunity to borrow money - it's not that guy's fault if he buys three HDTVs but doesn't pay his power bill. Society has a responsibility to look after certain things: roads, homeland security, garbage collection, availability of basic necessesities. Not the actions of stupid people. There is an explanation for this behaviour and Ron White said it best:
