  1. My point exactly. The division would likely end up somewhere in the middle. You whore. (ya, ya...I'm just waiting for it to get deleted). Whore.
  2. And how many "regular Canadians" can even interpret the tax codes by themselves, and how many just go to H&R Block? People like simple math....like "we won't raise your taxes".
  3. Perhaps, but there was no liberal option in Alberta. Not a real one anyway. Federally there is.
  4. The Alberta election was about kicking the PCs out, not about the province "changing focus" to a more socialist mindset.
  5. Exactly. I don't know a conservative person who would back that in any form.
  6. I think a blue liberal would move to the CPC over money issues, and an NDP voter may move to the Liberals to block the CPC. Clearer?
  7. That's statistically incorrect. There is always the perceived division of "left", "right" and "middle" so once the "left" joined you would see likely a 50/50 split or so. edit -> mostly because those on the "left" see the Liberals as the "right"
  8. Agree 100% They're voting for whatever is in their best interest. Exactly the same way I am. And Kwebek voters are a fickle bunch. Agreed except I think the CPC base is much higher. We don't have any other place to go. The NDP and Liberal voters can change sides without REALLY changing sides on a whim.
  9. I doubt that any "true" conservatives were buying into the NDP balanced budget bs. The money has to come from somewhere and that can only mean higher taxes. Did Tom promise not to raise those? Now a blue liberal might take a look at Justin's deficit promise and think "no damn way" and move to the CPC. I think we're talking about shifts by one degree here. NDP -> Liberal -> CPC, not NDP -> CPC.
  10. For some reason, I doubt it. Although it's just a numbers gain, I find it hard to believe that an NDP supporter moved over to the Conservatives. Possibly an NDP went to the Liberals and a Liberal moved to the Conservatives at the same time. That's my theory anyway.
  11. Yup. I have one headed to UofA to start the path to med school and another looking at a BBA. Anyone who says elections aren't about what's in your (and your family's) best interest is full of it.
  12. The NDP is toast this election. If they gain any support, it will be at the expense of the Liberals. Go Tom!!
  13. And for the record, I don't really vote for what is in MY best interest. I'm fine regardless of how things end up. I base my decision on how it will affect my kids. So, ya. Selfish.
  14. Why would I not? If 70% of what these politicians promised was real...hell, 50%...then maybe I would vote based on them. But they lie. Each and every one of them. They always seem to find "a reason" why they are forced to recant. So why would I vote for someone who promises me the sky and delivers the ground I'm standing on? I don't believe in Tinkerbell anymore either. I could care less what someone thinks of me when I vote based on my own well being. I'm pretty sure that in the end, most people do. There's absolutely no chance I'll ever be moved to feel bad about my decision.
  15. I think there's far more than just wealthy conservatives that would. Over the years I've given up believing in any of the "greater good" promises that get made on the campaign trail because most just get kicked to the curb after election day. The one thing they tend not to backtrack on (but not always) is taxation/financial ones. Which is why I sincerely hope the NDP don't win. Their policies would hurt me financially. The Liberals not so much, but there is no way in hell I would ever vote for a Trudeau. Ever. Even if I were to be the receipient of mega bucks because of it. When the dust settles on all this election hype, I doubt the government will change much. Maybe the party in power will, but not the "government". And so...I vote to protect the one thing that matters - money. My money.
  16. Yup. The same way I was the first time I heard that Harper had a "hidden agenda" and was going to put "soldiers in the streets". If it works, go for it. Do I like it? Not particularly but my ONLY concern is for my financial well being in this country because that translates into financial well being for my kids. Full stop. Some people are scared of toy clowns too. If it works....use it. You utilize what you have to when you're running a political campaign. edit->sp
  17. Sounds like a rather well placed bullet then.
  18. Nobody cares about your <Screen shots> or your threats. There are posters of all political leanings on this site, and the moderation of threads works to a pretty even standard. The one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that your spamming will likely end on or about the 20th of this month.
  19. No one is saying that certain citizens "don't count" - just that using them in poll calculations doesn't make sense. How do you know which party they didn't want to vote for? Why not calculate the percentage of voters for a particular party against the entire population of Canada then? That number would be just as meaningless.
  20. Really?? You keep saying this but I'm not seeing it. Aren't you one of those members that gets all bent out of shape at "gross generalizations" ala pot smoking threads, etc - and here you are doing it. I'd love to see where you're getting this.
  21. I'm not sure Argus' idea is so bad. No one is saying that new members couldn't post - just that they couldn't start threads for a specified time (not that I'm sure what length of time would be appropriate). It would likely get in the way of most spammers since it would require a little effort before bombarding the board with garbage. Even a day or two would curb some of it I would think.
  22. Actually, no we don't. If you want to take this up as your "cause de jour" be my guest. The rest of us will just sit here. On our butts. Not caring. Maybe I should write a post in a blog or another forum about some outlandish shit and then come here, link to it, and state that "IT'S A FACT!"
  23. FULL DISCLOSURE...ever since I started monitoring this forum 3556 days ago, I have been taking screenshots of what every one of you says (especially admin, moderators, facillitators and Kimmy) to make record of my assumption - that none of you like Dairy Queen. FULL DISCLOSURE...I plan on becoming a freelance writer and will be attempting to flog said writing about the excessive amount of anti-Dairy Queen bias that is being shown on both Canadian and US discussion forums (the fact that I wor...

The micro aggressions are not going unnoticed. They will certainly show up prominently in my article on the 15th of the month.

Not sure which month, but it will be on the 15th.

I'm pretty sure they call their LGBTQIA+ outlets the same thing, "Dairy Queen" with more emphasis on queen.

  24. Nice try, but you and I both know that what I said is true. The amount of money that is sent OUT of Alberta (taxes) versus the amount of money that is transferred back IN is quite different. I don't much care how you want to calculate it, but the "out" is far greater than the "in", hence my point about. And you can believe that I understand quite well how equalization works.
  25. So, just to be clear, you're NOT voting for them?
