  1. There is a unanimous consensus in the scientific community about GW, the only naysayers are the paid so-called experts who challenge their positions. People are made to believe that there is an actual debate out there between the scientific community when there isn't. The only debate is between lobbyists who work for the oil companies and the scientific community. Not ONE peer-reviewed scientific journal has contradicted the findings of GW. And who are these so-called peers who did this review on the findings about this so-called global warming?
  2. How do you know?
  3. What about the red eye. Anybody got that?
  4. and who's holding you back? I think you're doing a fine job of squeeking something similar. Someone with political authority should have the balls to speak out publicly! Either we go the way of England or go the way of Australia! And I like the way Australia is headed! Bravo about the bold criticism on this cursed multiculturalism! I came in this country of my own accord because I want the western values, I want the western way of life....so I'm not just going to silently accept what these radicals want to do!
  5. Judge orders Paris Hilton back to jail Updated Fri. Jun. 8 2007 6:13 PM ET CTV.ca News Staff A judge ordered a screaming Paris Hilton back to jail on Friday, overturning a decision to have her serve the remainder of her sentence under house arrest. A distraught Hilton, 26, was taken from court sobbing hysterically after being told she will have to serve the remainder of her 45-day-sentence behind bars. "It's not right!" Hilton shouted in tears. "Mom!" she screamed to her mother who was watching in the audience. A teary-eyed Hilton, handcuffed in the back of a police vehicle, was taken by Los Angeles Sheriff's Department to court earlier in the day. Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was irritated by developments in the case. The judge said he left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing. When he entered his vehicle on Friday morning, he said, he heard a radio report that she would not appear and that he had approved a telephonic hearing. He said no such thing had been approved by him. "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions,'' he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road,'' he said. Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo spearheaded the charge to get Hilton back in jail and deemed justice was served on Friday. "This decision sends the message that no individual -- no matter how wealthy or powerful -- is above the law. Today, justice was served,'' Delgadillo said in a statement. On Thursday, Hilton was transferred from jail to house arrest because of an undisclosed medical condition after serving only three-full days of her sentence. During the hearing, the judge said that he had not seen any documentation to support claims that Hilton was suffering from a medical condition. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories From what I gather, the sheriff acted on his own in releasing Paris Hilton from jail to serve the remainder of her sentence under house arrest.
  6. Ha-ha, me too. Thanks to- what's her name again? - oh heck, you know, the Dominionist girl. At least she got me curious what this word means that I looked it up in Wikipedia. Welcome to the forum.
  7. Yes. And apparently he can be held in Guantanamo for life.
  8. It's just a matter of time Iran's true colors, what a lot of us had believed all along, will be exposed to the world. I guess that time is starting to roll out now.
  9. They got this poll "will you vote for the Liberal" in a call-in talk show (where in you give your vote just by calling a certain number). Approx 1,500 callers voted NO, compared to only approx 500 callers saying YES. All those who phoned in to chat with the host were all upset about the pay-increase and the extra 3 weeks off. The guy representing the Confederation of Tax Payers was a guest and he was upset! Talking bout McGuinty's litany of broken promises, he says the grandfather of all his boo-boos was the tax increase.
  10. But I'm not ranting about corporations. I'm ranting about the descrimination against women in the FN reserves. I'm pointing out the absurdity in the FN activists' penchant for loosely throwing the accusation of descrimination - like this petty little thing like the stupid sign for example- when in reality, the FN laws are neck-deep in descriminating against and mistreating their own women! And calling for a boycott? Over this silly little sign? Give me a break! I mean, this goes way beyond being hypocritical! This is twilight-zone stuff! Lol!
  11. Nope. I didn't miss the implication of FNAndProud's statement.....though I tend to believe he said it without really thinking, in his bid to deflect. Go back and read that portion again, how chidlren were brought up in this discussion. You and Guyser missed that point. As for statistics...of course we'll tend to have more abusers in our society than theirs! What's their population compared to ours! Can you provide anything to support that claim?
  12. I've read that MLF is doing some sort of a study....like an experimentation? I'm just curious.
  13. Whites are bad, I showed you why. There is one case, so they all must be bad. Should I look for one of Asian mom and dads abusing kids? Cuz, ya know, if I do find one, then they are all tarnished . So you showed. Dig up any other parental abuses....be my guest. THis is a free country. And what would that prove? That parental neglect and child abuses happen everywhere. But why are you arguing about this with me? What's to argue? Btw, are saying that child abuses perpetrated by natives should not be considered equally as bad as abuses done by any other non-natives (regardless of race or gender)? That if you see a white man and a native simultaneously kicking the daylights out of their respective children, you'd be outraged over the white man's violence towards his white child....but ignore the native dad's violence towards his native child? Are you trying to suggest that the natives be given a special status when it comes to violations of their children? That natives should be free to abuse their children without any interference from any non-native? Are you saying native children should not receive the same protection and rights enjoyed by other Canadian children? As for tarnishing everyone.......one stupid employee got the entire staff "tarnished". Tarred and feathered. Over a stupid sign. Tarnishing everyone with the word descrimination and mistreatment had been a regular behaviour by the radical FN activists and their lemmings non-native followers - who shout the same blanket accusations to non-natives for just about anything. THAT, is why I'm bringing up descrimination and mistreatment. Who's really guilty of descrimination....and who's really being victimized! I guess I'm expecting our feminists activists here - like the original poster of this topic - to be calling out to everyone and do their picketing and protests infront of the Band Councils, instead of calling out to boycott Tim Horton's (unless she's calling out to all fatties to lose weight)! You should go back and re-read the flow of this discussion.
  14. You're not the only native who think that way. I've read an interview somewhere of a native who said something along the same lines. If you'd rather see children such as Phoenix Sinclair be given back to their abusive parents rather than be raised by non-natives....then it only shows the kind of concern the FN has for their own children. It makes me wonder why the whole hoopla about the residential schools - those who didn't go to residential schools still whining and crying over the past - shedding what now look so much like crocodile tears! So maybe the "RIGHTS OF A CHILD" should take priority over all issues, alongside "WOMEN'S RIGHTS!" Since these descriminations are not only practiced by certain individuals, but encouraged and protected by the FN laws.........do I hear anyone calling for a BOYCOTT??? How do we "boycott" the FN? We know how to make Tim Horton comply pronto - hurt that bling-bling! Let's show our grievance to FN by witholding on all settlements.....until these blatant descriminations and mistreatments are setlled? Money talks. What do you say, Catchme?
  15. Deleted. Didn't realize you're talking about "Bountiful". I don't know anything about that.
  16. Yes. No one is forcing people to enter these museums...as far as I know! I don't know why everyone's pissin on their pants over this.
  17. And? What's your point? Am I missing something here? I hope your point is not to say, "See? It's happening to white folks too"....because that's moot! I never said this things don't happen everywhere. But FNANDPROUD did imply that this things do not happen in Reserves!
  18. Phoenix Sinclair found dead on Manitoba reserve Last Updated: Saturday, April 22, 2006 | 9:57 PM ET CBC News RCMP say they believe they have found the remains of Phoenix Sinclair, a five-year-old girl who went missing in Fisher River, Man., about 10 months ago. Police said Saturday they had found human remains in a wooded area on the Fisher River First Nation reserve, about 150 kilometres north of Winnipeg. They believe the remains are of the young girl, but they are waiting for the results of a forensic test before they make a positive identification. Phoenix Sinclair had been a foster child most of her life. (CBC) Samantha Dawn Kematch, 24, and Karl Wesley McKay, 43, have been charged with first-degree murder in the case. A foster child most of her life, Phoenix had been returned to the custody of her birth mother, Kematch. Police say Phoenix was missing for nine months before anyone reported her absence. Manitoba launched two reviews into the province's child-welfare system last month after police laid the murder charges. The case has raised serious concerns about the child-welfare system. Three children have died while in the care of Child and Family Services agencies in the past year. Another six children who died last year had received assistance from Child and Family Services in the past. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/04/22/...tml#skip300x250 ********************** You know who raised the alarm that this child is missing, and did not let up until they investigated? Her WHITE Foster mother! You know why this child had been given back to her birth mother? Because the elders insist that this child should be raised by a Native...not a white person! Phoenix's own birth father said that he was surprised to learn that his daughter was given back to her birth mother! The Band is putting their politicking ahead of childrens' best interest!
  19. Parental neglect and child abuse? Society is plagued with single mothers either on welfare or working at Mcjobs trying to keep up. Where two parent families earn modest incomes they are so often working and enjoying their wealthy toys there is very little left for their latch-key kids. In comparison most First Nations (as in many small towns) there is still a semblance of a community and kids are often protected and nurtured by friends and family. In comparison native kids are raised with more nurturing than non-native kids. Unfortunately since native kids are often raised differently, our book-educated social workers (with very little social skills) are quick to pull them out and ship them off. They are still perpetuating genocide much like the thinking behind residential schools. In reality nearly 90% of our society suffers from some sort of mania, phobia, OCD or substance abuse (John Bradshaw PhD). Amidst all that "ism" some of us can raise our children to be respectful and decent human beings. Part of removing the "ism" from First Nations is allowing children to be raised in a more traditional setting, promoting traditional values and eating traditional foods towards better health. Yet it is our colonial influences - the alcohol, residential schools, sexual deviancy etc. that hold the legacy over First Nations. Prior to contact none of these things existed in native society. Our colonial forefathers came here seeking refuge from oppression and abuse and in turn imposed the same sickness upon First Nations that they fled from. I would suggest that YOU should be concerned about the welfare or YOUR children, since from where I sit it is likely that one of them (or someone in your family) will end up murdering someone, another will abuse sexually a child and another is likely to end up in a life of crime. Statistically, First Nation people have a greater chance of "success" within the definition of their culture than anyone in mainstream society. Did I say those atrocities don't happen everywhere? I am responding to FNandProud's statement! Like as if parental neglect and child abuse doesn't happen in the Reserves! You should look into what happened to Phoenix Sinclair to give you a sample on what's going on!
  20. I thought you were talking about the Creation Museum in the USA, I think in Ohio(?). Anyway I'm not sure if I really support the one in Ohion based on an information they have which to me is questionable. I looked into their website...but didn't really get the chance to read that much. If this one in Alberta is an off-shoot of that...I'm not sure. I have to really look into what message they give.
  21. That was the mistake. The sign should've said "NO DRUNKEN SLOBS ALLOWED!" Would you like me to talk about parental neglect and child abuse happening in your Reserves? Would you like me to question your Special Status Child Care Policies? Would you like me to talk about Phoenix Sinclair? Would you like me to talk about the welfare of your children? Let me tell you the story that happened to someone really close to me. I happen to have a stepson married to a native. This woman is one of the success stories among your people. She went to University. This couple did not have a child of their own, being young that they were when they met in University and were not ready for the task. Unprepared and young to become parents, guess what? They ended up adopting her 4-year old sister because the poor girl was being neglected by their alcoholic mother. The abusive father, another native (different father from my daughter-in law) was long gone....took off! My daughter-in-law's father btw is white living overseas. There is still contact between daughter and father. They exchange visits. They maintained a good relationship throughout the years. Isn't it odd? I would bet that hadn't it been for this white father, I doubt if my daughter in law would've become what she is now....that she wouldn't have become like her mother. BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF THEIR STORY! After several years of having adopted her sister, they ended up having to adopt and save another native child....a boy this time....a cousin! My son is pure white, if you're wondering. And he really took on the task of being a father to these kids. The children are accepted as family by everyone! Well, you were the one who called my statements "BS!" Besides, naming your family as a "source of back-up"...can hardly be considered as really convincing and credible support to your statements. How do I know you're speaking the truth? Well, FN posters all come on this board and you all speak as ONE! Besides, you all speak the same language...use the same tone...and funny how this statement had come up from several native posters here telling us "you need to be educated about history, FN etc.., " You all display the same characteristics that I notice being displayed by some feminists here. You all seem to be reading from the same FN HOW-TO book! I notice that you're new...check out the other native issues on this forum and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, that's not all I'm saying. Read again. Btw, welcome to the forum.
  22. Would your answer be the same if the woman applied for employment at the bar and was discrimminated on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, or race? Yeah you're right. But I still think she should take her business elsewhere. Why would she want to be bothered going in there, unless just to make a point. On principle, she is right. She should make a fuss. If the stilleto was on the other foot, a gay would quickly sashay up to courthouse if he was refused admittance to a straight bar. The gay community is in a dreamworld where they think they should have complete control and make all the rules. BUt when they imagine that their rights being denied, they'd be running to the nearest human rights commissioner. Concerning employment, only the dumbest employer would not hire on the basis of whatever. They'd easily find another excuse not to hire her.
  23. You're missing the point. Your whole explanation doesn't make any difference...except that they are theories or speculations on your part....with you trying to get from Point A to Point B. There is a term for this in criminal investigations (I can't recall what it is)....but investigators need to pull back when they've realized they're trying to fit everything in a box just so to produce the results that they believe. The fact still remains that this is still an allegation. That Colvin had notified certain bureaus and personnel, and that his report got documented.... is just following normal procedures!
  24. Yes you are in a position of privilege. Being attached to colonial anglo-saxons as a Canadian citizen you have unfetter access to lands and resources to which our government has stolen, or willfully manipulated the dispossession from native peoples AND the government protects your interests in those lands and resources by continuing to ignore the treaties over many of them. Yes Drea, you are in a position of privilege because they like to imagine everything we enjoy is stolen....when in fact it's been earned! It's not inspite of anglo colonialism that we are in our enviable position....but it's thanks to it. Trust me, this is not in way of an apology. The British Empire made this country what it is today...and today it's open to everyone! Don't imagine being here first gives you any privilege. You have to earn it! If you think these were your lands, at the exclusion of everyone else...then take them back. You may not even need force. The loony liberals in this country seem only too willing to hand them over. Of course you have to be ready to look after them! Are you up for the task? I doubt it. Who will be paying your way then?
  25. Let me see if I'm getting this right... you're saying that the "descrimination" against native peoples is justified because (according to you) their government agencies and societal systems are worse than your own? I assume you know the parable about the splinter in the eye. Not only does Canadian society at large have a log in its own eye, Canadian society is at least partly responsible for the splinter in the eye of native peoples. To then turn and complain about their problems with a magnifying glass, while ignoring our own is wrong. The thing that you seem to be overlooking, is that the problems on the reserve are not simply a result of the doings of the people living there. The problems are a result of the system as a whole, as a result of the "Indian Act," as a result of the abuse of residential schools, as a result of generations of neglect. By ignoring the real source of the problems we will never correct them. To justify racist attitudes based on that ignorance is clearly wrong. I won't do that. I guess that makes me a bleeding heart. I prefer that to the alternative. You better read again! Everything that's been posted by me on this thread!
