  1. As demonstrated by current events, by us on this board and most especially by you, , irrelevancy is simply not on the table, Kuzadd. The USA is a major player! You may call the USA of anything....EXCEPT being irrelevant.
  2. That's a good one! I could only assume that either Kuzadd feels threatened by the USA, or so intrigued by the USA, or so angry with the USA... one thing definite though judging by her numerous posts.... Kuzadd is consumed by the USA. And add the numerous other posts about the USA...whether good or bad....practically any topic that touched on war or economy or politics or foreign aids etc.. almost, always, involved the mention of the US of A! I wouldn't call that as the result of being irrelevant. Au contraire....
  3. They're all pandering to minorities, Mike. But I think McGuinty's type of pandering is a real eye-opener. He is the only one I know of who actually contemplated legalizing Sharia Law. Do you realize the gravity of that kind of mentality by a political leader? Not only would it have been okay to tolerate and accept an oppressive religion - that means also condoning it, AND MAKING IT LEGAL! And now Dion is practically giving us an insight with his most recent speech - that tolerance is no longer enough! I wouldn't be surprised at all if McGuinty wins, and publicly fund all religious schools anyway. Actually I would be surprised if he doesn't do just that!
  4. Well it's about an issue that effects all of us and our culture. A good conversation piece. Then you should know what Dion - the leader of McGuinty's Party - had stated at an interview at the opening gala of the Hindu temple. "Tolerance is not enough." What could that mean? Condoning cultural and religious acts that are considered unlawful in our own culture? Anyway, isn't McGuinty the one who actually contemplated legalizing Sharia Law? For him to even consider such a move is beyond stupid, really. He will do anything for votes! How do you feel about that?
  5. I understand your concern about Tory's platform. And you like what McGuinty is spouting off. Well, McGuinty is known for breaking promises - like that tax promise. And I don't think I like the way Caledonia was handled. Law and order was cast aside because McGuinty had frozen up like a deer caught in the headlights. That's no way to lead.
  6. All the party leaders were there. Dion went so far to say: "tolerance is not enough. we should accept." Worrisome, isn't it?
  7. You're forgetting that it wasn't supposed to be like it is today... awolBush and his handler Cheney figured it would be a cake walk ( remember the famous theatrical " mission accompished" ) In all honesty did you ever in you wildest dreams think that the mighty US military could be fought to a seven year war by a rag tag band of Iraquis? If the US could have won the war in 6 month the oil would have been very cost effective but as foolish wars tend to make a mockery of the best laid plans it turned out very different as we now know. Well they've made a mistake in underestimating it as a cake walk. BlowjobClinton made a mistake in the oval office and compounded that mistake by another mistake (since the reason behind it is to distract from the mistake done under the desk). He bombed Iraq. My point is who can really give any guarantee? You know the saying about the best-laid plans can still go awry.
  8. Climate change deniers also invariably ignore the point of such an event as Live Earth--that is, to promote awareness and encourage people to start making steps to change. Instead, they find the most vulnerable candidate for swiftboating they can find--in this case Madonna--because character assassination works best when the facts aren't in your favour. It's a pathetic mode of attack that is sadly killing the conservative movement in the U.S. I hope to see a new, more positive conservativism rise out of Cheney and Rove's dead corpses in 2008. Speaking of Live Earth.... PETA lambasted Gore as a hypocrite!
  9. Just like all the rest of of anti-war supporters are upselling. Tell me, who isn't selling? At least there's more substance in what we "sell". Honestly I don't see any reason why the USA and allies need to take into consideration the so-called concerns of some alleged bleeding hearts and radicals. At least be thankful they (The USA, Australia and other allies) have not been as blackhearted as the terrorists-backing despot leaders...and had not resorted to just pounding the daylights out of these problem countries with total disregard for humanity! The USA has the power over life and death for any of these backwood countries that proved no more than malignant cancers in this world. You may not like it, but that's just what it is. If it were the other way around, let's say Iran has that power....do you think it will hesitate to storm any countries, and do so with any form of restraint? When one has the power, he has the power! It's is indeed fortunate for the rest of the world that the USA is the one who wields that kind of power.
  10. AM, please don't feel that you have to apologize for what your government does or does not do. It is simply out of your hands. And when you read the hate speech that some shrill posters love to spew, remember that there have always been haters of the U.S., and when you are number one in the world some will hate for that reason alone. Yes. The USA will always be blamed and dumped on by such haters, no matter what. No amount of apology will make any difference. As an excellent example is how the haters easily twist to justify terrorists actions and deftly shifts the blame on Bush and the USA. You have to question the real mitigating factor for their hatred. It could easily be that they share the same ideology as the terrorists...and they truly see the west as the enemy.
  11. I was adding to the discussion. Replying to American Woman, asking her to ask for credible back up to that particular statement you made. That statement you made was really funny! Really. I even wondered if you typed that with a straight face. My comment was not an attack, however. I was just stating a fact. And I must say that was a valuable suggestion I've made to the ongoing argument between her and you.
  12. Uh...I don't know how your husband is connected with the topic, unless his "empire" is on its death throes being cowed by all this shining intelligence, not to mention getting butt-kicked and fearing for his balls. And what's with this about Scott being jealous of your husband? Am I missing something here? Aw c'mooooon! Ewwww, control yourself Kuzadd. You're a married woman!
  13. I know. Ask her to expand on that. Better yet, to give something credible to back it up. Just fyi, you are debating with someone who put up a good fight trying to convince the board that Osama Bin Laden was not a religious person. Wanting us to take her word for it. Oh, your funny betsy, you see, I know when and whom to waste my time with. I have expanded on many topics with you, but, you see, I don't get my information from the bible, or preached to me at church, I read and educate myself. While some choose otherwise. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
  14. I was just about to click on that link you gave, Drea...lulled by your skillful coaxing...like the devil's concubine beguiling....but then, I read this next line. That was a douse of cold water! Wait a minute, I thought. This feminist line rings a bell! Ah yes! Drea! The confused one! The great Amazon warrior fighting for women's equality, that she even claims to see terrorists as her moral equal. The super-heroine! Quick to the rescue! Dependable! This self-proclaimed protector of Islam and every Muslim men there is. This feminist has just most recently given a few words of wisdom. All ye listen well... Are we supposed to take Drea seriously? Geesh, sounds like there's a civil war going in her head. Half her brains fighting the other half! And both are losing!
  15. This very post gives evidence why America will be just fine. And will continue to be so. And from the description of this said Democratic Underground - what an appropriate name indeed! It looks like that's where it belongs. Under the ground.
  16. I know. Ask her to expand on that. Better yet, to give something credible to back it up. Just fyi, you are debating with someone who put up a good fight trying to convince the board that Osama Bin Laden was not a religious person. Wanting us to take her word for it.
  17. What is a wind up radio? Where can you get it?
  18. Nonsense....the USA was ranked #3 in the world as a tourist destination for 2004 (Canada wasn't even in the top 10), and that doesn't include the people crashing the border legally or illegally from Canada and Mexico for opportunity in "warmonger" America. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0198352.html Frankly speaking, I'd feel safest touring the USA than any other countries in the world!
  19. Underground? In war, that could mean a guerilla movement. During peacetime, it usually means "in-hiding." As in "going underground." Is that right? Democratic Underground. Is that the name of this movement? They must believe they're at war? Operating in the US? And who is their enemy? Fellow-Americans? Civilians? You know these people? Where they are?
  20. Why won't you ever visit the U.S.? Have you never been here? Yes, many times in the early 1990's. My boyfriend and I would go across all the time. No problemo -- but that was then...today, your country has changed so that people are no longer wanting "to take the chance on being detained". So I understand you stopped going across to the US because you don't want to take the chance of getting "detained?" You said "I will never, ever cross." Your reaction seems so extreme. Is there any reason why you think there could be a chance that you would be detained? Is your boyfriend a Muslim?
  21. I've no idea - clue me in. This forum seems to be fairly well balanced, it shifts now and then, but when you look at the whole including the numerous anti CPC threads, I'd say the majority are on the left wing side of the fence. What's a hard core right winger btw.... A small handfull hard-core left-wingers are quite abusive with their language and name-calling, not to mention getting caught in a bold-faced lie or attempt to twist facts that could've turned off otherwise left-leaning population from coming in to join! Perhaps the biggest deterrant sits from that corner? Some personalized attacks had come from a couple of hardcore left-wingers, and they're still around. They should know when to zip up and know they're lucky. Greg and Charles are doing a good job. It's not an easy job to moderate. We know when we crossed the lines....and try to get right back on the right track asap.
  22. Lets hope he takes this generalized name calling post seriously too - maybe it's this type of extremeist comment that creates a reaction. And let's hope that certain posters who have the gall to call others names have not been caught deliberately twisting facts and telling lies.
  23. I like your views too. We should form our own party together.
  24. We should have stricter screening process. A detailed information about our expectations must be provided to applicants, including that of adapting to our way of life. Education and/or skills are a must. Anyone with criminal convictions must be rejected. The numbers of years required to be eligible for citizenship should be increased. There should be a procedure for immigration employees to discourage any attempts at corruption. And the immigration officers should have a watchdog....just to make sure there are no corruptions going on.
  25. But realistically, immigration is also hurting us. Big time. How many immigrants end up going back to their country, enjoying our benefits and yet not spending their dollars here, and most probably not paying their taxes here either. An example was the huge numbers of people in Lebanon that we've had to rescue. That was an eye-opener. Judging by the reaction from a lot of Canadians (reactions that even the media did not hesitate to broadcast), that showed it came as a surprise. How many else from other countries? We want babies...well, they give us babies alright! How many of these babies are literally raised by our society? How many of these babies will become productive, and how many will end up being our additional burden? And all the Asian gangs, the Latino gangs, the drug peddlers and criminals....why do we have them here? How did they get in here? Why are we not being choosy about whom we should accept here?
