  1. That might be the biggest motivation for Trump to really set his sights on taking Canada. Imagine having a Socialist regime right on his doorstep! 🀣
  2. Don' t forget - Trudeau and the LIBERAL Party has been known to be tone-deaf. Out of touch with reality. I suppose we see that attitude reflected on the liberals/progressives who vote for them, no matter what.
  3. As far as I know - that's the prediction.
  4. Many folks are forced to sell houses that they can't afford anymore! people are losing jobs! Why on earth do we have tent cities, the likes we've never seen before in Canada? But - there aren't many homes for-sale signs. All you have to do is walk in your neighborhood. Those who aren't forced to sell, are staying put! There's nowhere else to go.
  5. The Liberals had campaigned on that - touting Carney to be the best to tackle Trump. Obviously - many Canadians bought it. Poilievre ran on change - and he managed to get the blue workers (who normally vote NDP) and young generation to go Conservatives. It was a very tight race too - also gained 16 seats from the election - so although there are those who reject Polievre due to what they see as his similarities with Trump - it wasn't what had defeated him. His support didn't bleed out. His defeat came from NDP and BLOC supporters who'd panicked and jumped ship, and voted for Carney. Why do you think the NDP had lost its party status? And the Bloc has lost quite a few seats? Had it been an ordinary election (without the spectre of Trump) - Polievre would've won and had a majority.
  6. Kindly read the link before you respond. Should we? China says it wants to partner with Canada to push back against American ’bullying’ https://financialpost.com/news/china-wants-to-partner-with-canada I'm wondering how Carney will respond to this. Your thoughts?
  7. What do you understand by healing and uniting? Whether I like it or not, Carney is my Prime Minister now. Am I happy about this? NO. Because I know Poilievre would've done a better job at being Prime Minister. The pro-Carney, don't agree with my view. That's life. What good will it do to keep whining about Carney winning? Life in Canada is hard already as it is.....thanks to Trudeau. I prefer to give it the benefit of a doubt and see what Carney do about our situation. Hey, if a situation you can't control hands you a lemon - try to make a lemonade. If it's still yuck - you'll get a chance to throw it! That's where I'm coming from. There's another time. Another chance. My religious belief, also makes it easy for me to accept it. Just as God has allowed for Trump to win - so did He allow Carney.
  8. What a short sighted analysis of the housing crisis. Lol - would people sell their houses if buying or renting one would be too expensive? You think people who cant a afford a house have been going to vacations overseas? or to the USA? It's easy to say make-do with the car you have now......you think all people who want a car, buy it just because they want a new one? 🀣 You think everyone buy brand new cars? Just like with appliances - how can you make do with a car that is broken? And more expensive to fix? Can you still buy second hand fridges? Chances are - if a fridge is working, people are hanging on to it!
  9. WE can make deals with other nations. Sure. Deal trades won't do much good......if we tie the hands of our businesses and make it hard for them to compete.
  10. There is the other side of the coin too. If the economy in the US starts booming, and Trump dramatically reduce or even abolish the income tax for all Americans (which he had recently announced).....he may not be president in 4 years.....but, wouldn't his successor continue what he started? It could be VANCE, who'll succeed him. Although he's the gentle version - the "good cop" to Trump's "bad cop." Same mold. Same mind-set. Same vision. Given the Liberal's track record on how they treat businesses and entrepreneurs in this country, strangling them with bureaucracy - and reluctance to go forward with our energy plans - not to mention the senseless spendings - I have the feeling we'll all be weeping around 2027. If Trump doesn't relent, it's possible that by then, we'll be debating about a REFERENDUM on becoming the 51st state.
  11. I'm still wondering why Ford and his campaign manager Cory Tenycyke had openly criticised Poilievre during the height of the campaign. It seemed orchestrated. I mean, even if you don't agree on how the campaign is being run.....should you go talking to the press about it? Sabotage, comes to mind. ....and I'm thinking if it's true that Ford has plans to run for leader of the Federal Conservatives. What better way than to get Poilievre out of the way? But, I could be wrong.
  12. Apparently - there are two or three ridings that are too close that they'll automatically get a recount.
  13. Yes. If it's not going against the rules of the party, why not? Given the circumstances we've seen in this election - which everyone agree is dominated by fear of TRUMP - his loss can't be blamed on him. ESPECIALLY SO, if we acknowledge the improvement he's brought to the party. If I'm not mistaken, the Conservatives has earned an extra 16 seats. AND - he's brought in the union (which normalyy vote NDP) and younger generation into the fold! The election we've had wasn't about the traditional partisanship - Conservatives vs Liberals. It's about who Canada thinks is best to tackle Trump! Poilievre must be given another chance!
  14. I don't know what the rules are -but I still hope Poilievre stays on. I have a nasty feeling that we'll all be weeping in a couple of years. And we'll be debating about having a REFERENDUM.........on becoming the 51st state. C'est la vie.
  15. And....thanks to panicking NDP and Bloc supporters......who decided to prop the Liberals, again! 🀣 Let's face it - how long has it been now that the LIBERAL PARTY needs propping? That seems to become the trend! Maybe they ought to change the name of the party? 😁 If we could see the regrets lurking in Blanchett's mind.....when he didn't help Poilievre bring down the government. "IF ONLY............." The same with Singh. He would've been the OFFICIAL opposition to the government now......and, still get his pension! It's a gross miscalculations on both the NDP and Bloc, who never anticipated TRUMP ending up....................... propping CARNEY! 🀣
  16. @ExFlyer Should I have one? Kindly read my posts again and try to understand it. From what site did you copy your line from? If you're going to mine quotes from other sites - make sure they fit to what you're attempting to respond to. 🀣 I'm waiting for your explanation as to how it fits to what I've said.
  17. @ExFlyer Okay - I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that you really have something behind that line. What is exactly, "woulda, coulda, and shoulda"........ to what I've said? I don't read minds, so kindly expand. Since Exflyer had agreed with you - I suppose he understands what you're saying. So my question is to you both. help each other out. 😁 let's hear it.
  18. Nevertheless - obviously, what he said had brought some people into the Conservative Party (blue collars who usually go for the NDP) and younger folks who usually go Liberal. The Conservatives remained strong to the end. They didn't bleed out. It was TRUMP, that was the upset. Who would have thought Trump would be threatening our sovereignty? TRUMP was the ballot question.......and only a short time to get to know Carney. But Canadians were panicking! NDP and BLOC ended up helping the LIBERALS win.
  19. Sorry, I don't debate with knee-jerk responses, or senseless one-liners. Seems to me you're the one who hasn't got one. You can't even explain or expand on what you're saying. 😁 I suppose you're trying to be cute? Well - being cutesy doesn't say much. have a nice day.
  20. Actually, Poilievre is a progressive and isn't aligned with real Conservative values. He is a fiscal conservative. He ran a good campaign.....after all, he's brought working blue-collars (union) and younger folks to the Party. The Conservative support did not bleed out. The LIBERALS had won due to the NDP and BLOC supporters who'd jumped ship. The very tight race on so many ridings between Conservatives and Liberals even when Trump is the ballot question, just shows how Poilievre's message of change had resonated. Let's face it: The Liberals won primarily - and, solely - due to TRUMP! Sure, there are those who didn't like Poilievre - but as you can see, they held up their noses and had chosen him (as the 20 points lead indicate). Had this been just an ordinary election.........we'd be having a strong Conservative MAJORITY right now.
  21. It's a minority government. All parties saw what happened to the NDP for having propped up Trudeau. Other parties will hold a tight rein on Carney, should he try to go down that path again.
  22. There were some tensions within the party and between the Federal and Provincial Conservatives. There could be issues among them, that we don't know about. A pundit had suggested that Ford would want to become leader of the Federal Conservatives, and run for Prime Minister in the next election. Poilievre might have to step down as leader. I was thinking Lisa Raitt, might make a come-back and become leader. Your thoughts.
  23. And pray for our leaders, and the battle ahead. It was an exciting night, but couldn't keep awake waiting whether it's a majority or minority. Congratulations to Liberal-supporting members.
  24. Not a prediction but more of a wishful thinking. At the very least......a Conservative minority.
