  1. Rona Ambrose or Lisa Raitt - either one would have my vote.
  2. I had my septic tank pumped out on Canada Day. Considering the sad state of our nation, getting rid of some shit seemed like a fitting thing to do. I'll celebrate the day again when this country gets back on track, boots the current government down the road and once again represents something to be proud of as right now it doesn't.
  3. So Canadians don't have the right to question or criticize a supposed human rights commission that is composed of some countries whose own human rights record is absolutely appalling. Give your head shake.
  4. These are some of the countries that currently occupy a seat on the UN Human Rights Commission China Nigeria Iraq Afghanistan Somalia Pakistan Democratic Republic of the Congo Every single one of them has the ignominious honor of winning a spot on the list of 10 ten countries with the WORST human rights records in the World. And, it is of long-standing. And we Canadians are supposed to take what this body says seriously?
  5. 'We don't want another 30 years of dictatorship': First Nation unites to oust 'lifetime' chief www.cbc.ca/news/indigenous/ojibway-nation-saugeen-leadership-1.5189317 www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/first-nations-suicide-rate-3-times-higher-than-for-non-indigenous-people-statscan/ar-AADEEAj?li=AAggXBV
  6. "We must, as a community of nations, ensure that global average temperature does not rise more than 1.5 degrees C over pre-Industrial Revolution levels." Laudable goal. It will be interesting to see how this will be achievable considering the utter lack of interest on the part of some of the world's biggest polluters - because without them onside nothing will be achieved. Canada can spend billions going to a green economy losings thousands and thousands of jobs in the process as we watch the temperatures continue to rise and deadly weather events become more frequent.
  7. All races have done terrible things over the millennia and to some extent a few still are but no, it is only the White person who deserves shaming and blaming. What a farcical idiotic illogical notion.
  8. What an ignorant and ill-informed comment. Best you do your research before you post such erroneous drivel.
  9. They can but as long as the activist types hold sway we can forget that they will ever even try.
  10. If nothing else this crap report has managed to wake many Canadians up to the idiocy of the native activists continuous demands and refusal to take responsibility for themselves.
  11. What a great victory for the Vice-Admiral! Best move he made was to hire Marie - if anyone could bring this case to an end it would be her. However, weenies that they are, the Crown did not 'drop' the charges today. They 'stayed' them which means they have an entire year in which to decide whether to exonerate Mark Norman completely or bring forth actual, factual evidence against him. After listening to a couple of lawyers comments on this today, there is zero chance that they will proceed with the case especially as they have dragged their feet on submitting the necessary documents Marie requested - over 6 months ago. Personally, I am really happy that the Vice-Admiral has been vindicated but the drawback is that Canadians may never know the truth behind the false allegations or just how much political interference there was in this case.
  12. Please provide a link to the story/article that this quote is taken from else you be proved nothing less than a liar unable to make sensible arguments on the topic instead making up your own false quotes.
  13. To be honest, Argus - the little potato doesn't have much of, if any, record worth mentioning unless it is one of failure, contempt for Canadians and a litany of lies. Thus he left to the age-old liberal tactics of attacking the opposition.
  14. Ah, Realitycheck - you really need to live up to your moniker.
  15. After decades of one party rule, Alberta finally broke the trend when Rachel's NDP government was elected. She had no easy job and I give her some credit for trying to stand up for the provinces interests. The die was cast against her for many reasons not the least of which was a back-lash against the anti-oil antics of the little potato's government. My friends in Alberta who voted UCP told me they did so more as rebuttal of the Feds then as a full-out support of the UCP.
  16. Congratulations to the people of Alberta who voted for Hope and chose the UCP by a large majority, I might add. Yet another great addition to the Blue Wave. Hope to see NB join the crew.
  17. I agree with all the points except for the 'well-intentioned' bit, Argus. Idiots aren't known to have many intentions - good or otherwise - being that they have a difficult time even trying to form a single coherent thought. After watching him perform for over 3 years now, I am of the opinion that he is shallow, narcissistic, given to huge flights of fancy and sorely lacking in leadership ability. His niche politics approach to governing and championing of social justice initiatives over and above the common good has been divisive and corrosive.
  18. Christie Blatchford: After the way Trudeau treated them, why do they even still want to be Liberals? " For God’s sakes, why are those other people — the muscled-out and muzzled Jody Wilson-Raybould, the booted and betrayed Jane Philpott, the deeply confused members of Philpott’s riding association in Markham-Stouffville, Ont., — all still proclaiming themselves to be proud Liberals? " https://nationalpost.com/opinion/christie-blatchford-after-the-way-trudeau-treated-them-why-do-they-even-still-want-to-be-liberals?video_autoplay=true
  19. "Wilson-Raybould warned about the potential knock-on effect in cases like Norman's, although she suggested the government's conduct in Norman's case has been above reproach. 'The cases are not dissimilar' "We can stand up in the House of Commons on [the case of Vice-Admiral Mark] Norman on — totally appropriately on Norman — on extradition, and we can talk about the rule of law," she said in the recorded conversation. "The cases are not dissimilar. The principle, or the integrity, of how we act and respond to the tools we have available and what we should and shouldn't do, again ... I just don't know." https://ca.news.yahoo.com/spectre-political-interference-linking-snc-080000953.html She was sitting AG and this file was on her desk. We'll see if her incautious remarks regarding the government's involvement in this affair were simply ill-thought or a symptom of her own presumptions.
  20. "In Canada, the day a newly elected MP/MLA shows up at the liegislature (not a spelling error) he is taken by the ear by the party whip, dragged down to the depths of the building into a dank, odious room kept especially for the purpose and shown "Where The Bear Shat In The Buckwheat". IOW, my party right or wrong. " I love the dank, odious room part, Reality. LOL You so so funny.
  21. Principled. We will see how that statement holds up once the Vice-Admiral Norman affair takes over the headlines, Betsy. The former AG was involved in that mess too.
  22. Well you got the first sentence right. The rest is of no interest to me being a Canadian.
  23. Ah Betsy, representing their constituents is one thing - being totally disloyal to the party they chose is another.
  24. Whether it comforts them or not matters not to me, Argus. This is plain old politics. You tow the party line and recognize that the PM is your de facto boss and thereby show your loyalty or you are out. There is not a single political party in Canada that does not recognize and nurture party loyalty.
