Democrats Seriously Court Evangelicals
Drea replied to maldon_road's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Death cult? here is a good example of the "death cult" here in the west. Rapture Ready If not for non believers and Jews,( thank God for the Jewish religion, which is not "fundamental" nor a "death cult") "our" fundies be just as bad as "their" fundies... they WOULD kill in the name of their god if the rest of our society allowed them religious freedom to the extent that Islam is "religiously free". By religious freedom I mean the freedom of one particular religion to run roughshod over the populace. Jews and atheists. The only sane people on earth. ...been readin' about the original judaism... makes more sense than all the others. -
I think you have me confused with someone else. I did not drink whilst pregnant. I do smoke marijuana though. I am angry because I get treated like a criminal for doing something much much less harmful (to me or those around me) than injesting alcohol. I have no use for drinkers, they are a volatile dangerous lot.
-
every single person that has ever enjoyed a drink is a goddamn disgusting alcoholic pig and should be taken out and shot. (and pee'd on too) That's the way I see it. I wish people would get a clue and wake up to the fact that it's not marijuana that is the dangerous drug, its alcohol.

all women should get implants. Free. and it should be done by the time they are 16 so they don't miss out or anything. And all men should have 2" added to their girth. IMO There. Happy now. Women disfiguring themselves to please men and men disfiguring themselves to please women. Oh yah... we should put all the people who are happy with themselves on some island somewhere. They are way too happy. LOL

It has been established (has it not?) that this is not a "health" care issue. Wanting to look different than one currently does is not related to health. One will not die or live a lousy life because one's breasts/nose/biceps/thighs etc. are not such and such size. This is a cosmetic issue, not a heath one. Usually a cosmetic surgeon will consult with the patient to make sure they don't think it will "change their life entirely". Why? Because it is unrealistic to believe that bigger boobs or smaller thighs will make one's life perfect. If one has low self esteem one will still have low self esteem no matter what cosmetic surgery is done to them. There, of course, are special circumstances. The 16 yo girl with a nose as big as Everest... or the young man with ears like Prince Charles... Sure I got teased in school (white doors is still in that mindset ) for being a ibtc member, but it made me develop my brain. Never did I have to rely on my body to get what I wanted. Had our 25 year reunion just last year.... ha ha I look better'n all of 'em. Make more money too. Payback's a bitch. LOL
-
You have been reported. Really your level of mysogyny is so high as to be uncomparable. Women are not toys for your consumption. Women's breasts are not there for your eye candy pleasure. Women are people too regardless of whether their size or shape are pleasing to your misogynic eye.
-
the thread (indeed the article) is about women who think they need bigger breasts in order to feel better about themselves. It is not about whether or not women need breast reconstruction surgery. Hey, if I get breast cancer and need to have one (or both) of them removed I would certainly go for a bigger size... Nonetheless, taxpayers should not have to pay for someone's self esteem. These are not "special" circumstances. These women do not NEED bigger breasts in order to do a better job... unless of course they pose as prostitues in order to root out the Taliban/Al-Q, OBL, turrists or whoever. LOL
-
Ack! These women are whiners. I've gone through life as a member of the itty bitty titty club and have never had a problem with self esteem. Never lacked the attention of men either. Nor was I ever (that I know of) "passed over" for a promotion at work because of this. Breast augmentation is certainly not a necessary medical procedure and having the gov't pay for it is utterly pathetic. Wouldn't having small breasts be a benefit in the military as one would not have to worry about huge melons getting in the way?

September 11, 2001 – Thoughts on an Anniversary
Drea replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
... because NO ONE ON EARTH has ever suffered like New Yorkers on that fateful day. NO ONE EVER! /sarcasm While I empathize with those who lived through the demolition, and those who had family/friends die... it in no way is the worst disaster to ever occur. The worst part is that it was the catalyst that changed the internal attitude of the USA and it changed how the world views the USA. It has been used over and over and over and over again to instill fear into the populace - sadly, it worked. IF (giant if) OBL was responsible... he won, and sadly the result is that USians are no longer "free". -
Do you support public funding for faith-based schools?

Who cares? Those with money are the only ones who deserve an education! /sarcasm Welcome to MLW equality! -

So when we made accommodations for people in wheelchairs, we we accommodating a special interest. Used to be we said "You wanna vote?WALK to the voting station!" But that wasn't fair so we installed wheelchair ramps. The muslim woman is completely within her rights to request a female registrar if she is required to show her face/hair. If there is no female registrar she should have the option to wait until there is one so she can cast her vote. How is this impeding on anyone? Leafless if you suspect a woman is shoplifting under her garments (a hijab, a big winter coat, or a long skirt can hide stolen items) do the male police search her or do they bring in a female officer? They bring in a female officer. We already accommodate for the female thief, why not accommodate for the female muslim? By bringing in a female officer to search the female thief, are we destroying our culture? LOL Geez people, talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill -

on CTV newsnet right now they are discussing this... turn on your TV! LOL Actually it will be on a 5pm my time. You might want to watch it... Cheers! Edited to add: I have a g/friend who refuses to go to a male doctor. Because of the history of OUR culture where only men WERE doctors, is she forcing her way of life on others by only seeing a female doctor? Or is she completely within her rights to refuse the male doctor? -
I loved that song as a kid... I'd sing it while walking to my best friend's house (5km walk!). This land is your land, This land is my land, From Bonavista To Vancouver Island, From the Arctic Circle, To the Great Lake waters, This land was made for you and me. roamed and I rambled And I followed my footsteps To the fir-clad forests Of our mighty mountains And all around me A voice was calling, This land was made for you and me. I followed your low hills And I followed your cliff rims, Your marble canyons And sunny bright waters. As the fog was lifting, A voice was saying This land was made for you and me. When the sun comes shining And I am strolling, And the wheat fields waving And dust clouds rolling, As the fog was lifting A voice was calling, This land was made for you and me. In Canada, the song is sung with the first verse altered to make Canadian geographical references. This version was written and popularized by Canadian folk music group The Travellers in 1955

How is this imposing their way of life? Muslims are not forcing any christian, buddist, atheist, or anyone Canadian (or American) to wear the hajib. Last summer an Indian family was swimming at the lake. All of them fully clothed in the water. Should the men be forced to wear speedo's and the women string bikini's? They looked really weird swimming in all those clothes, maybe we should force them to take them off? Whaddya think jbg? Good idea? -

Most voting stations (usually elementary school gyms) I have been to have women volunteers working there... why not just have the muslim woman show her face to the woman volunteer? This way, her identity is verified without a man having to see her face. Simple solution really. No need to get everyone's knickers knotted. -
Marketing the attack on Iran through the media
Drea replied to kuzadd's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not at all son, because this is the conversation in it's context... you being a soldier makes no difference. Unless you believe being a soldier is an excuse for inhumanity. (It isn't) Buffycat said: then you said: You believe its a-ok for the USA to attack a country for no reason... yet you are utterly dismayed when the taking out the US's nuclear sites is mentioned. Even though the USA is the world's biggest threat and it has nukes. Good god, think about it -- GW has control of nukes.. jeeeesssuz -

Why are you not in the Middle East then? Why are you still on this safe continent? You (tough as you are) could be over there taking out Iran all by yourself! You go son! -

Native chiefs, perhaps...but equating Afghani war lords with unionists...? That is like equating Bush with Ghandi. They are opposites. I highly doubt if an Afghani war lord has the same "agenda" as the unionist. You obviously don't know what a union is and what they do, nor do you know what a dictatorship under a warlord is. They are not the same. Like Bush and Ghandi, they are opposites. You see, the union works for the rights of individual human beings. Does the Taliban do this? LOL You people are soo funny. *wonky funny, not ha ha funny*. Afghan warlords = human rights? So many of you believe that it would be better to put a lid on free speech than allow protests.... un-be-liev-a-ble.

not funny at all. -
I signed the petition. Everyone who believes the native people's of this country deserve the freedom that others have, please sign it. The Indian Act is bad for Indians and bad for the RoC.

I was not talking about the government... Sorry American Woman. You seem like a levelheaded individual without the level of arrogance of some Americans. Those arrogant ones need to be taken down a peg or two as they are the people that the rest of the world imagines ALL Americans are like. He (and people like him) are part of the reason America is so disliked across the world. I go to the democratic underground and read what those people have to say. They are nothing, I repeat NOTHING like B-C 2004 here. They know that their country has some serious issues regarding human rights, education, healthcare, warmongering, etc. I know not all of you are like B-C 2004 but his "type" has the loudest voice and therefore gets noticed more often. My apologies to you and all those like you.
-
You are lacking in reading skills so I will repeat it for you --> America is old, tired, miserable and facing it's mortality; China is the new, the fresh face. Eager to take on the world (not militarily, economically). Have you ever seen the difference between a Chinese teenager and a American teenager? The Chinese teenager gets A's in calculus and is proud of it. The American teenager can't even pull his pants all the way up doesn't even know what calculus is. I'd be willing to bet that a Chinese elementary school student is more learned than a highschool graduate in today's America. Whether or not Japan has sensei joes makes no difference to the debate. You go on ahead and keep bringing it up if it makes you feel better about yourself Whether of not I misspelled sensei makes no difference to the debate. You go on ahead and keep bringing it up if it makes you feel better about yourself (you need all the self esteem you can get!) And because you have trouble with these things... how 'bout this? "A student always overtakes his teacher". Get it? Actually I was thinking of Sensei Lee, a woman I know at a martial arts school. She is now better than her teacher. But I know that went sailing waaaaaay over your head. It's ok you're excused. With that American grade school education it must be difficult for you to understand many things.
-
Ah you mention that I got sensai wrong - but you certainly cannot refute the rest of my post can you?
-
Grasshopper always becomes "better" than his sensai. The new always beat out the old and America's gotten old. China is brand new, fresh and eager. The US is old, tired and mean spirited.
