We may not be a Bush-friendly nation, but we must remember that a lot of Americans are between a rock and a hardplate too. They don't like him, but they don't like other countries criticizing the American people because of him. Ottawa should be cautious, but not condescending when dealing with the U.S. The Liberal government has been most condescending and rather vile. The Liberal negativity is costing the formerly "Natural Governing Party" this election. Everything is going wrong and everyone is jumping off the Liberal bandwagon. Martin is a better man than history will remember him as. He is probably a good man deep down inside. However as PM he has tossed away all his values, all that he strove for, all that was important to him, and tossed it out so he could cling to power. Screw the Americans, screw the West, screw the leftist NDP, screw the right-leaning CPC, screw integrity. The old saying "I like him, but I don't respect him" is a good way for me to describe how I feel about Martin. As for Harper, I don't agree with a lot of his right-leaning policies. But compared with Martin, he is a man of integrity. No one, right or left, can say Harper is not sincere and will not hold steadfast to the policies he put together and ran on in this campaign.

I can't wait to ring in the new government at the big Conservative party here in Calgary. Watch for me on TV! I'm the one so drunk from both booze and joy that I can't even walk. I just came back from the liquor store... I don't drink much, especially on Mondays, but if the CPC wins I'll gladly show up to work hungover Tuesday...

Good call. The Supreme Court is already full, to the best of my knowledge, and at the end of the day thats the only one that matters. I think there is a vacancy now actually, which is good. Who knows, maybe Harper will appoint someone qualified.

What could Harper posibly do to resolve this without giving in on issues like missle defence, gay marriage, war on drugs or invading countries on false pretense for oil? Sure we can solve cattle and softwood, we just have to give up on having or own national identiy. So when this comes to pass and Im over "liberating" Iran or North Korea, I wont be hear to tell all you Harper supporters 'I told ya so', so... I told ya so. What planet are you living on? It has to do with diplomacy or simply manners. Harper won't bash the US in public to win some emotional points with insecure Candians. Conservative MP's won't fire off anti-Bush venom. Harper won't pull out of a deal with out first notifying the people he made the deal with. Harper won't use cheap-shot anti-American campaign ads to to maintain power. It's called statemanship, you libs ought to look into that and re-examine your definition of tolerance. A study of the Reagan presidency will tell you about statesmenship... I am not huge fans of Reagan and Mulrooney but you know what? They were diplomatic and treated our countries very well. I miss that relationship...I miss the "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" days. I live in Montreal in a Liberal stronghold...outside the island its Bloc vs. Conservative but here its still Bloc vs. Liberal. I am REALLY annoyed the Conservatives can't make gains here.

Political correctness has long been getting out of hand. I don't find it offensive when people of other religions invoke their religion like such. I thought we all had that right in Canada.
