  1. I am not saying that they should avoid the hard questions, I am saying that for media sources to go out of their way to fabricate controversy without providing context means that the government has no obligation to them and if the media as a whole would want more access to the PM then they should be more fair to the PM. The Conservatives and the PM have enough controversies and problems so investigating those is one thing, but we are talking about creating problems or spreading misinformation in order to further their agenda. We need to restructuring the CBC so that its a reliable unbiased source of information and it as an organization should be held at a much higher standard as it receives tax payer dollars.
  2. Ok, but tell me this, do you think that the media as a whole has been fair to Mr. Harper? And I am asking to look at it is without considering wether you like or dislike him. Ask yourself if you were the leader of a party and PM of Canada would you make yourself available to any news media that is essentially out to get you or would you hang back ignore all those that are out to get you and allow the results to speak for themselves.
  3. Why are you so interested in PM Harper making himself available to the media? He will never get a fair chance from them. If the media wants to get more access to the PM then they need to make an effort to be more balanced and fair in the way they portray him. What if President Obama decided that he will ignore Fox News for his second term? Would you say its fair seeing that no matter what he does fox and co. twist his words and actions to fit their agenda.
  4. Police had to protect the meeting, provide escort for all dignitaries who are coming in, secure the roads and highways etc. Police officers had to have a presence everywhere rather than just in one place. Also you would have to specify wether they accounted only those officers directly seconded to the G8/G20 meeting or did they counter TPS, York Region, Peel Region police as well as any RCMP and OPP officers that were in the Area but not tasked to the meeting itself. Also do we account police officers only in Toronto or are we counting the officers in Huntsville as well? The numbers are not as clearcut as you may want them to be and the bias of the paper will skew the numbers by adding police officers that had nothing to do with the meeting itself. And if we look at the events of the G20, I would argue that there were not enough officers since the animals rained free for some time before the police were able to rein them in. But back on topic, this covers the closing of the operation, removing supplies and equipment back to bases in Canada, we have been in Afghanistan for roughly a decade with rotations of as much as 2,800 servicemen in theatre and as a result a lot of equipment and supplies have been moved to the bases in the region most of which was needed up until the last combat patrol.
  5. Care to back up the 3 times as many riot police as protestors comment with a proper source?
  6. One Billion is to close down operations...NOT THE COST OF THE WAR!!!
  7. If only a few Canadians were financially irresponsible then it won't be a problem, let them drawn in debt but unfortunately if it afflicts a large segment of our population then it affects everyone else. People laden with debt will be a liability to the entire country in a financial crisis and most defiantly will be a liability when they cannot work wether through old age or disability therefore we should make sure to limit the hole they can dig themselves in so that we don't end up suffering for their problems.
  8. I don't know, to me it does not seem to be such a big deal as there are plenty of other things I would see as deal breakers. Who is to say that the father and his genes are not the ugly link? I don't know, maybe its just me that thinks this way but to me marriage should be about love, if it was about looks as it seems here than he was getting ready to leave the relationship as soon as her looks gave way. So you mean every fat guy and girl who work their asses off to get fit should disclose their history in the off chance that their partner would not want to take the chance of having a baby with fat genes? And what about him? He probably pretended to love her and he did not disclose that he loved her looks rather than loving her.
  9. What he ended up with was a pretty wife, who cares how she got her looks? No matter if she is the most beautiful women in the world, or the ugliest women in the world, there is no guarantee that the baby will be as attractive or not attractive as the mother. He married for looks and he ended up with what he wanted seems to me he is a pretty awful human being if he is going after his wife because she gave birth to an "ugly" baby.
  10. This has got to be a joke... He is complaining that his wife did not tell him she had surgery? It is his own damn fault for marrying for looks. When someone gets married they take their partner for who they are or should anyway rather than how they look. Should a person who used to be morbidly obese inform everyone of their history on the off chance that it is genetic in some way?
  11. How many roads would you add in order to prevent a repeat of this situation? And how would adding more roads in the same general area prevent all of them from failing at the same time?
  12. Where is your concrete proof that the Libyan government was installed by NATO?
  13. I don't know if you are aware of this, but there were CF members supporting the police during the G20 and I am more than certain that there was a unit on 5min notice to move for the duration of the G8/G20. There are significant difference between Canada and many of the countries you seem to be comparing us to, for one police officers and members of the military are guided by a set of laws that prevent the abuses that happen in say Syria. There is a degree of separation between politics and the military which is intended to prevent dictators from taking root in Canada a degree of separation that did not exist in Libya and does not exist in Syria. People are free in Canada because there are laws that apply to all people in our country rather than having laws that protect one group more than the other. In Canada a group that has ethnic, linguistic or cultural differences is afforded the same protection as a basic human being as is given to the majority in the nation. Tell me a country in this world that is different for the better. Every place has its problems and in every nation the people who are wealthy enjoy a certain advantage when dealing with the law and everyday life but in most places in the world the situation for the less affluent is quite different. ? Really? So you are an expert on JTF2 now? I mean seeing as very few people outside of that unit have knowledge on the subject. Exactly, protect the people of Canada from those who wish us harm wether the enemy is external or internal. I don't see a point in having a military if you would prevent them from protecting the people that are sworn to protect. Immigrants can do whatever they want that is within the bounds of Canadian society. This has nothing to do with Canada and Canadians being nice but it has everything to do with Canada needing people to sustain our way of life and as such is more permissive of immigrant than other nations. As they should, if you don't like Mr Harper you can vote for the party of your choice, if you get enough people who disapprove of him than you can "overthrow" him and his party next election in favour of someone more to your liking. Many nations do not have that opportunity and as a result have to resort to violence in order to change the status quo.
  14. So should police officers,Firemen and members of the military be forced to work up till retirement at 67?
  15. During a political debate there should be fact checkers on hand and after every 2min exchange they should check the authenticity of the claims made.

  16. And what do you bring to the table? Increase in corporate taxes will make Canada a utopia... right? An outside third party reviewing the funding can find waste, obviously hiring someone who is unqualified for the job at hand is counter productive just like letting the department heads do the review. It will take as many people as necessary. And it will be funded by the government, this is a long term investment and the return on investment could potentially solve the financial problems of the province, start from the biggest department and go down the list. And it is possible, tell the departments that they are to open their books and that means all the relevant information and provide the auditors with any and all assistance they require in order to find the waste and cut it out. Increasing corporate taxes is not the answer to every financial problem and it seems to me that you would like to tax corporations as much as possible thinking that they need to be in Canada, they strive for profit and with that in mind increasing taxes while things are already stacked against us as it is might not be exactly the smartest move... but that does not concern you right? I mean the evil corporations have to work for free in order for Canada to be a utopia.
  17. I don't think we need to use the federal government as an example why it could not work, instead we should find a solution to make it work. End this practice, if someone is getting public fund then they will open their books. No, but why would I need to? I'm sure there are enough qualified people who can do so without needing my assistance. And as such is dependant on public funds, no open books = no extension of contracts and we will find other ways to do business. I don't agree with that view point, if someone wants government contracts then they need to be open and transparent to the people who provide the funds.
  18. I have no problem with the Unions fighting th government, I have a problem with them forcing me to support them in their fight wether I agree with them or no simply because they have my child hostage. At this point its not about right or wrong, its about forcing parents to support the union wether they are for or against them.
  19. NATO installed government? Rebels fought against the Libyan government with NATO support but that support does not equal to the government being installed by NATO.
  20. Yeah, because the government would be so kind to the rebels if they lose. You live in Canada, but not everyone enjoys such freedom and safety as we do in Canada. You seem to ignore what the Syrian government is doing to their OWN Frgging people and go ahead and accuse the west of causing deaths,
  21. You must be a big fan of the theory that if a women doesn't want to be raped, she shouldn't look so sexy.
  22. Oh gee the government screwed us...guess what no after school programs. Wait not enough pressure so now union is suggesting that report cards should be cut down in content. It seems to me that the union is going after the children in order to pressure the government and I wonder how much the government cares about those children and their report cards and after school activities. Also whats next? Are they going to eliminate everything that causes them to have to work outside of the school such as marking assignment/tests at home?
  23. In that case why don't we get rid of report cards in any case? If report cards have a stated purpose and the union is trying to remove that purpose then might as well remove the report cards altogether. And how long before parent teacher interviews are scrapped to put more pressure on the government?
  24. At this point their demands are irrelevant, if they end up holding children hostage in their dispute with the government nobody cares wether they have legitimate grievances or not.
  25. It should be considered murder If I invest years of my time stalking you , finding your new school and spreading the information there. The end result should be viewed to determine the crime committed, this guy if he is older as I read in some article knew very well what the end result would be when he went after her, most of the bullying by other kids could be attributed in one form or another to the stalker because he destroyed any possibility for her to have friends in school, made her a very easy target. All I can say is that if I get a 12 year old girl to show me her chest and then use that picture to in effect destroy her life and should she move to a different school stalk her and do it over and over again while simultaneously blackmailing her and terrorizing her in any number of ways I am responsible for the end result. I have been through hard times in my life and I assume many people on this forum have been through similar experiences, the main difference here is that most of us see the light at the end of the tunnel we know that there is an end to our suffering, she did not see that light mainly because someone made it their business in life to extinguish that light. She knew that wherever she went, whatever she did this bastard would follow her and she will have to start all over again and the abuse will continue, he in effect gave her only one way out in her mind and that was suicide. I know that this piece of garbage even if arrested will get a light sentence, my hope is that he will receive a just punishment from society and people will turn everything he did to this young girl against him.
