Man points gun at Bulgaria politician’s head during a speech
Signals.Cpl replied to Sleipnir's topic in The Rest of the World
How accepting of you, if they don't feel the same way as you they are a loser country... you must be very openminded... There would be more outrage if they had not subdued the idiot and someone innocent had died, it is easy to judge with 20/20 vision from the safety of your home but at the time they had just witnessed him trying to assassinate a political leader and they acted to disarm him and neutralize the threat and you may say whatever you want but if your behind was in the fray you would be kicking and punching as well in order to avoid any more weapons he may or may not have on his person. -

And is that a bad thing? Is it better that they sit on welfare instead of pulling their weight? -

What about beating unarmed protestors in the streets during the G20? Loser country right? If this exact situation were to happen in an NDP or Liberal meeting the end result would be exactly the same and only an idiot would judge over 7,000,000 people because he disagrees with the actions of a few who were defending themselves from an unknown assailant who could have had any number of weapons on him. If it were the Conservative with the PM present I would think that it would be shoot first and ask questions later type of scenario. -

Hudak calls for Welfare reform
Signals.Cpl replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
How is this an attack on the poor? What about the poor who go out and work 40, 50 or 60h weeks to make ends meet what about them? If there is no work where you live go and find work somewhere else, how is it fair that someone will sit at home and get welfare without them bothering to go where the jobs are while at the same time having people work their asses off with little assistance from the government. Welfare should ideally be short term only it should hold you over until you find a job or when used in conjunction with other benefits to retrain in to a new career. If jobs are available but welfare recipients refuse them or do not even attempt to apply for them then those people should not be on welfare as they are unemployed by choose rather than by circumstance. -

Well if they are not going to look for the jobs, and the jobs don't come looking for them what else are they to do? Did you miss the part about slashing benefits for long term users? And when do we determine that the help should stop? Do we wait a year or 5 years or more before we tell people to start looking for jobs somewhere else? How can we realistically complain and count people who are not actively looking for work if at the same time there are jobs that go unfilled? Should we keep small towns on welfare while jobs in some regions have to be filled by temporary workers from outside Canada? -
Can a Jewish State be Democratic?
Signals.Cpl replied to TheNewTeddy's topic in The Rest of the World
Yes they can but it cannot be viewed as only an internal decision, its not like Israel could and will be a democracy no matter what. Why not? They don't need to be mutually exclusive. Why at odds? Democracy is majority rule and in this case if the majority wanted one thing or another they could get their wish. Do they burn down churches or mosques? The same could be applied to many other countries around the world which favour a particular religion or outright have one as a state religion and this does not and has not made them any more or less democratic. Again this is not unique to Israel and only Israel it applies to many nations including our own as you pointed out, this does not mean we are undemocratic. -

If there are no jobs then it is easy... people go where there are jobs, sitting on welfare for 20 years just so you can stay in a particular place seems ridiculous, complaining about lack of jobs when Canada has to recruit workers from other countries is worse. You mat want the government to subsidize certain communities because they have no way to survive without government subsidies in the form of welfare but there is no reason for it otherwise we will always have high unemployment while at the same time having lack of workers. -

Signals.Cpl replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
And if a particular area has high unemployment most people should seek employment elsewhere rather than seating on their behinds and complaining about the economy and the jobs or lack thereof. It is one thing if Canada as a nation is suffering with few to no jobs available and many unemployed but it is a whole different thing when there are jobs available but people choose to sit and live off of welfare rather than following the jobs. This is nothing new, plenty of people from all over the world come to Canada as immigrants every year for better opportunity and more jobs, if they can pick up and move to a whole other country why can't someone pick up and move to another town or city to seek employment? -

I don't think this is targeting people with disabilities of any kind, this seems to target long term recipients who don't seem capable of finding and/or keeping a job. -
NRA goes after Obama's children
Signals.Cpl replied to Sleipnir's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So is the point here to arm everyone so that people feel safe? Are we to have armed guards in movies theatres and grocery stores? Why not fix the underlying issues rather than support stupid solution that will solve nothing? End of the day we can have majority of people happy on both sides or we can have no one happy... -
Judge laments refusal of police to enforce the law
Signals.Cpl replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You don't think its possible for a provincial government to avoid action even through daily "protests" that block major highways and the rail transportation routes, I wouldn't put it past them to hold off for long enough to do some real damage to the provincial economy. Something has to be done but few want to be the first to suggest an action because they are afraid of the consequences should it turn violent. Unless there is an emergency within multiple provinces if I am not mistaking then the government has to consult with the lieutenant governor of the province(s) concerned but as far as I understand it it is a decision by the federal government. The government cannot act on its own to get the emergencies act if the affected area is only within one province and the province has not requested federal government assistance. -
US dead last in health care
Signals.Cpl replied to Canuckistani's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
One only needs to look at the potential price of visiting the emergency room and they may decide to stick it out. And I am not saying that they are being denied healthcare all I am saying is that healthcare is so expensive that many people who can't afford insurance might want to avoid getting in to tents if not hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt. Yes, I doubt that those that qualify are getting the top notch healthcare reserved for the rich. And yes our healthcare is superior to the healthcare that nearly 30% of the American population gets Yep they get care the first time around, what happens when they need care again and they still have about 20 years till they payoff the first time around? You are right its not like the US has 49million people who are uninsured and just the thought of the money it would cost to go to the hospital brings on a heart attack all on its own. If it is cheaper to send the individual cases why not use it? They are not mutually exclusive. Great but it still does not make it any more affordable or enticing to go to the doctor when sick since you know at the end of the day you are ruined. I am sure at least 49million Americans do not share your desire to wait. Probably the same thing that happens to Americans who cannot afford to go to the doctor. At least I know that my family is going to get healthcare when needed, unfortunately I have had to have some first hand experience with the healthcare in Canada and I can safely say that it is not great and without its problems but it is good for everyone rather than great for some and not so great for the rest. No, some Americans are in poor health while others are in great health simply because of the accessibility to healthcare. You keep bringing this up but paying it off in instalments does not make healthcare accessible and it still scares many people away in many cases I would assume until too late. It is one thing for me to go to the doctor and get healthcare that is covered by a government plan and a whole other thing to go to the doctor for the exact same problem sit in a hospital for a week and come out owing a ton of money, one unlucky year and it buries you financialy decades. Doesn't seem to be the same opinion of Elizabeth Warren... in her books she seems to put blame on medical bills for many bankruptcies. Kinda misleading don't you think? Bankruptcy due to medical problem means you lost your job due to illness and can't pay your bills, not declared bankruptcy because you child was sick and you had to take him to the doctor and the bills overwhelmed you... And that is understandable but going in to bankruptcy because you took your child to the doctor seems a little ridiculous especially for a nation like the US. And I am not saying its a piece of crap, I am saying that it is great for those who have the money or are insured, for those who cannot afford the insurance or are on the government programs the healthcare they receive is ever so slightly different and in at least 15% non existent. And it is interesting how you keep bringing up that people are not being denied healthcare yet it is so prohibitively expensive in many cases that people choose not to go to the doctor rather than putting their family out on the street. -

Signals.Cpl replied to Canuckistani's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I don't think the problem is inferior healthcare, the problem is inaccessible healthcare for a large segment of Americans. If 15% of Americans do not have access to healthcare and another 15% getting mediocre care means that your system doesn't work too well. In Canada I know that I will get medical treatment no matter what which is more then can be said about millions of Americans, to me personally I believe that it is better to have good healthcare for all rather than the best healthcare for some and no healthcare for others. And what happens to the people who cannot afford it and try to get through it without going to the doctor or go to the hospital too late because they couldn't afford it? People who cannot afford insurance are unlikely to be able to pay down tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills. -
Where did all the money go to Attawapiskat?
Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, if violence happens we blame the perpetrators of the violence but at the same time if anyone in a leadership position decides to support violence they will be excluded from further discussion until such a time as they decide to swear off violence. The point is to bring the people who want to talk to the table while presenting a united front with them against those who wish to bring violence. -

As in if you commit violent action(x) the consequence for you and the FN is (y). -

See I'm not a doctor can't deal with your inferiority complex...you might need to visit a professional. Gee you got me there again because that matter a lot...we are affected by decisions and events in the US and the US is just as affected by decisions and events in China or Saudi Arabia. No see, we find a problem and look for a solution rather than saying we are better than China and shut down the issue... -
Where did all the money go to Attawapiskat?
Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And the best way to deal with the current situation is to inform the FN that if you do x we will do y and make sure they know that it could have consequences for all FN instead of the individuals. The idea is to separate those who want to get their way through violence from those who want to accomplish something through peaceful means and get the FN to do that by themselves instead of waiting for violence to erupt and then trying to deal with it. -

I do ignore the majority of your posts, but curiosity got the best of me I wanted to find out why do you have such an inferiority complex. Said the guy whose country depends on China and Saudi Arabia... Small steps forward are better than giant steps backwards sweetie... -

Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You, your inferiority complex and the people like you are the cause for that, you jump in to a conversation that has little to do with the US and start comparing Canada to the US... I would say probably 99% of your posts are of that sort and the once that are intelligent are the once you stumbled on simply because of the sheer number of posts...something intelligent is bound to come out of you once in a while. -

Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Things could get much worse but we shouldn't wait for them to get there before we act. If there are threats made we should take them seriously instead of waiting for someone to carry out the threat. If there is any talk of violence by FN leaders the government should immediately step in and inform the nation and the FN as to the consequences of violent actions. If the FN know what is at stake there is more of a chance that they will police themselves in order to avoid the consequences and thus saving Canada a lot of trouble... -

Maybe once in a while, but that is the only thing you do on MLW...nothing else...you might stumble on something intelligent once in a while but for the most part you are here because of your ill disguised inferiority complex... Someone has to since you and people like you will take America in to the gutter someone has to root for the intelligent Americans... We are working on our problems maybe slowly but we are moving forward as opposed to the idiots who are destroying the US simply because it will bring them a couple of buck right now without a care about tomorrow or 20 years down the line... -
Where did all the money go to Attawapiskat?
Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Its no mystery at all, the US is just another country, its not the greatest country in the world nor is it the worst country in the world its better than some and worse than others...unfortunately people like you tend to compare yourself to others rather than fixing problems so when a problem is presented by someone it always comes down to we are better than them... and when that is no longer true you just find another them. -
Where did all the money go to Attawapiskat?
Signals.Cpl replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And in this case I am not talking about people like you instead my point is about the Americans who are so close-minded, the once who have no desire to solve problems and instead just compare the US to other countries... the Americans who would destroy the US with their stupidity and comparison because there are a lot of shitty countries in the world to compare to and this means it is a long way for the US to fall. There are Americans much like bush_cheney2004 who when presented with a problem tend to go for a d*ck measuring contest rather then dicuss the problem at hand... -

I would say as a % of the population... you really love adding very vague ARGGGG AMERICA GOOD ARGGG AMERICA GREAT ARGG... turns out you are not a troll you just have inferiority complex... Ever wonder WHY Canadians define themselves as not-American? If being American was sooooooo much better then being Canadian we would embrace being confused for Americans... right? Angry...nah I feel sorry for you and your inferiority complex so its not anger I feel towards you its pity. Seeing as we are smaller population wise we cannot accept as many people as the US but somehow I don't think you bother yourself with logic... Wow you got me there... That just proves that there is more demand for Canadian workers in the US than American workers in Canada... I wonder why...
