No I'm not missing point the point. I know exactly whats happened this last 10 years but again, I have better things to do with my life than cry and complain like you clowns do day in and day out...hell, hour by hour for that matter. "Adults' don't constantly cry and complain every day. Children do, which is exactly how a number of you out here act each other and every day. Yeah, I'm going golfing. Hopefully Canada will still be standing when I'm done the round. Get a life...

He is, and like all good business people is soliciting advice from experts in their particular business fields. What BS can you come up with for his engaging high profile business leaders from the Canadian sectors that are/will be most affected by US trade demands, and why do you see this a problem?

Your point is highly inaccurate.... The "Break-Even" Point: Despite the higher initial footprint, EVs "pay back" this extra debt through lower operating emissions. This break-even point typically occurs within 1.4 to 1.9 years (approximately 15,000–25,000 miles) of driving under average U.S. conditions. -

What Kind of Country Is The US Becoming?
LinkSoul60 replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Whatever... you've become a morally broke nation, which is sad to see. Enjoy your Trump years and the mess he's created domestically and internationally. He has already set your country back decades in how the world will interact with the US going forward, and by the looks of it he's just warming up. Have fun. -
Listening yesterday to Dominic LeBlanc overview the status of trade talks with the US and seeing the headline this morning of 'Washington demanding 'entry fee' from Ottawa before trade talks' is making a lot more sense of why no 'deal' has been agreed to... The obvious reason a 'deal' hasn't been agreed to is that what has been on the table isn't in Canada's best interests. That's been obvious. I found it interesting though that he sounded positive with the discussions that are happening in the background, but also said they're not going to meet to simply listen to more concessions the US wants us to make while disregarding any concessions on their part. The news this morning of the US wanting an 'entry fee' for discussions to begin is a big non-starter... Trump's word isn't worth a nickel anyway and blackmailing a one-time strong ally into paying to negotiate should tell Canadian's everything they need to know of why no 'deal' has been made.

He's spot on, although I would have used more 'colourful' wording for a more accurate representation... Your little fantasy world of liberal bias doesn't allow you to read does it. The council is business leader centric with Lisa Raitt (CIBC Investments) and O'Toole (ADIT risk management) bringing that expertise from current positions, not their time in politics. Ignorance, dumbass, and clueless simp are spot on though, if you're sensitive to more colourful wording.

What Kind of Country Is The US Becoming?

What caught my attention this morning was a quick read on the update from the Louisiana mass shooting of 8 children and that it's just 'back page news'.... The important things to America now are TACO doing his thing, gerrymandering, Kash Patel's drinking binges, and the Epstein files being more front and center newsworthy items for a politically divided nation. WTF has happened to society when 8 children being shot are talked about for a day or two, then put on the back burner while political bullshït like the above becomes more important to people because of their fanatical right or left positions. It's not what the US is becoming, it's what it's become.... An ethically declining country that is morally decayed, with much of that at Trump's feet for the division he perpetuates on a daily basis. Mass shootings of children... whatever, we have more important things to worry about with gerrymandering and Kash Patel's favourite choice of morning scotch. Sad to see... -

Lol... I typed something out then figured, why... You're of a totally different mindset. I'm not going to convince you and you're not going to convince me. "We survive because of them"... lost your pride huh. I will throw this in though... the industry started to shift away from Canada in the 2000's with restructuring in 2008/09 that saw plant closures, and the manufacturing footprints going to the US or Mexico. That was your guy Harper, not the 2016 liberals who saw the lost investment and jobs during his term that's generally carried on since. Investments will go where it makes best sense for their business and for the most part and regardless of the PM, it hasn't been Canada. -
You truly are stunned.... What exactly is that supposed to mean? Canada's space agency and NASA have been close partner for over 50 years. Hitched ride... 😂 You still haven't answered the question I've asked you a number of times... What trade benefits has the US given our manufacturing sectors since last year, and why do you think auto, steel/aluminum and forestry sectors have been losing jobs? Any idea....? Carney is right... for decades we've been too reliant on the US as a supplier and customer. Tariffs threats and manufacturing shifts that have seen people losing jobs attest to that. Go fûck yourself clown

I'm guessing your approach to life is that the government should help pay your way... Lol... liberal boomers are different than conservative or NDP boomers right. I told you.... I understand the cost of living and can appreciate it's not easy, like it wasn't easy for us trying to raise a family. I have young 30's children who are raising families and paying the cost of living like everyone, yet don't bîtch even remotely close to what you do. They'd even tell you to STFU... 😂 And yes... if your job doesn't pay you enough to support your financial commitments, find a job that does, find another source of income, or reevaluate your financial commitments to see what you can do without. That's life....always has been and always will be.

I live in the same country and pay the same as you idi0ts do at the pump, grocery stores, and anywhere else. I know what the cost of living is but the difference is that I don't cry and complain about it every day like you do. It is what it is... Go talk to your employer about your lack of wage increases, or find another job if you can't make ends meet. Either that, or change your ends...

You prove with each post how inept and stunned you are... You simply ignore facts if they don't suit your narrative. In Canada, home and auto insurance are regulated primarily at the provincial and territorial level, not federally. Provincial regulation (the main authority) Each province has its own regulator that oversees: Licensing of insurers and brokers Consumer protection rules Approval of auto insurance rates (in many provinces) Policy standards and coverage requirements For example: In British Columbia: BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) regulates insurers, while basic auto insurance is provided by Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). In Ontario: Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) handles oversight. In Alberta: Alberta Superintendent of Insurance is responsible. Federal role (limited but important) The federal government regulates insurance companies from a financial stability perspective, not consumer-level policy rules. The key body is: Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) OSFI ensures insurers are: Financially sound Adequately capitalized Managed prudently Bottom line Home insurance: Fully provincial regulation Auto insurance: Provincial (with some provinces running public systems like BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) Federal government: Oversees insurer solvency, not day-to-day consumer rules I got $15 from simple math.... $188 / 12 = $15.67 so my bad on not rounding up. An extra $16 p/m... I can see why people may sell their homes with that kind of cost increase. Again not sure what your nonsensical comment of boomers has to do with this, but there is a complex mix of reasons of why North American women have been having less children the past 20 years. Economic pressures, cultural shifts, and personal choices are all part and parcel.
-
Your ignorance and bias is astounding... What does Carney, the Federal government or boomers have to do with your auto or home insurance that is regulated by the Alberta province government? And don't know the situation nor do I care, but if your friend can't afford the extra $15 a month for car insurance he shouldn't have been having babies... If he may have to sell his home over this $15 p/m, he's got more financial problems than just car insurance...

It might be damaged, but at least I have one... Clearly your simple mind works in ways that most logical people can't relate to. That's proven daily.... Sure, I was trembling as I typed it...

Yeah, I'm very scared of Poilievre but no, not upset, Why would I be....he's irrelevant. You got it... 3 more years of crying and complaining for you. It's all you got so you'll enjoy.
