building Chinese cars here in Canada....
LinkSoul60 replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not yet, but I watched 'Game Changers' a number of years ago that touched on it. You don't honestly believe that fossil fuels are the future do you... and I mean even the short term future. -
What Kind of Country Is The US Becoming?
LinkSoul60 replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Elections have consequences, and electing a morally broke self-serving narcissistic that is void of ethics only add's to the decline. Talk to your fellow citizens about it, not me.... One thing that many Americans can agree on, even in an era of deep political polarization, is that our country is in a moral free fall. In survey after survey, US adults of all ages, education levels, political affiliations, and religious backgrounds say that people are less kind, honest, generous, and respectful than they used to be. Americans Think The U.S. Is Losing Its Moral Authority, New Poll Shows ByMary Whitfill Roeloffs, Forbes Staff. Jan 09, 2026 at 02:21pm EST TOPLINE The number of Americans who believe the United States is the moral leader of the world has plummeted over the last decade, a new Ipsos poll shows, with Democrats and independents the most skeptical of the country’s position. KEY FACTS In a survey conducted in early December and released Friday, only 39% of respondents said they believe America is the world's moral leader, a 21-percentage-point drop from the 60% who believed it to be true in 2017. The perception is sharply divided among party lines, with 64% of Republicans still believing the U.S. is the moral leader compared to 24% of Democrats and 35% of Independents. -
You're telling me that someone who posts 3 pages of the same repetitive comment isn't a psycho? Every tax payer can and should hold the government accountable if they choose to, but you and your band of complainers obviously still enjoy crying about Trudeau despite him being gone for a year. Bîtch away.... depending on the mood I'll either continue laughing at you, or continue to shake my head.

Try losing the liberal stuff... Carney clearly isn't Trudeau regardless of how you want to spin it. Hindsight is great... if we all had that luxury we'd be as informed and wealthy beyond our wildest dreams. The fact is that investment in our auto industry took a beating during Harper's term and has continued to trend downwards. That's fact. Other than caving to Trump's demand to bend over and saying everything is the liberals fault, I'm not sure what your strategy is. Anyone without a backbone can cry uncle and give away the farm, but that's not why we elected this government. -

What the hell is that supposed to mean? The cite was straightforward... Clean and renewable energy investment and adoption is growing globally, which includes the US. Your demented fossil fuel champion is only a small blip in the grand scheme of things, so enjoy inhaling the exhaust fumes while you can. -

Read what I said.... not what you want to believe I said. Tell me where I'm wrong in that opinion... Yep, I don't like Trump at all and find him to be a narcissistic self-serving individual that is void of morals and decency. Same as above... tell me where I'm wrong in that opinion. -
No I'm not missing point the point. I know exactly whats happened this last 10 years but again, I have better things to do with my life than cry and complain like you clowns do day in and day out...hell, hour by hour for that matter. "Adults' don't constantly cry and complain every day. Children do, which is exactly how a number of you out here act each other and every day. Yeah, I'm going golfing. Hopefully Canada will still be standing when I'm done the round. Get a life...

He is, and like all good business people is soliciting advice from experts in their particular business fields. What BS can you come up with for his engaging high profile business leaders from the Canadian sectors that are/will be most affected by US trade demands, and why do you see this a problem?

Your point is highly inaccurate.... The "Break-Even" Point: Despite the higher initial footprint, EVs "pay back" this extra debt through lower operating emissions. This break-even point typically occurs within 1.4 to 1.9 years (approximately 15,000–25,000 miles) of driving under average U.S. conditions. -

Whatever... you've become a morally broke nation, which is sad to see. Enjoy your Trump years and the mess he's created domestically and internationally. He has already set your country back decades in how the world will interact with the US going forward, and by the looks of it he's just warming up. Have fun. -
Listening yesterday to Dominic LeBlanc overview the status of trade talks with the US and seeing the headline this morning of 'Washington demanding 'entry fee' from Ottawa before trade talks' is making a lot more sense of why no 'deal' has been agreed to... The obvious reason a 'deal' hasn't been agreed to is that what has been on the table isn't in Canada's best interests. That's been obvious. I found it interesting though that he sounded positive with the discussions that are happening in the background, but also said they're not going to meet to simply listen to more concessions the US wants us to make while disregarding any concessions on their part. The news this morning of the US wanting an 'entry fee' for discussions to begin is a big non-starter... Trump's word isn't worth a nickel anyway and blackmailing a one-time strong ally into paying to negotiate should tell Canadian's everything they need to know of why no 'deal' has been made.

He's spot on, although I would have used more 'colourful' wording for a more accurate representation... Your little fantasy world of liberal bias doesn't allow you to read does it. The council is business leader centric with Lisa Raitt (CIBC Investments) and O'Toole (ADIT risk management) bringing that expertise from current positions, not their time in politics. Ignorance, dumbass, and clueless simp are spot on though, if you're sensitive to more colourful wording.

What caught my attention this morning was a quick read on the update from the Louisiana mass shooting of 8 children and that it's just 'back page news'.... The important things to America now are TACO doing his thing, gerrymandering, Kash Patel's drinking binges, and the Epstein files being more front and center newsworthy items for a politically divided nation. WTF has happened to society when 8 children being shot are talked about for a day or two, then put on the back burner while political bullshït like the above becomes more important to people because of their fanatical right or left positions. It's not what the US is becoming, it's what it's become.... An ethically declining country that is morally decayed, with much of that at Trump's feet for the division he perpetuates on a daily basis. Mass shootings of children... whatever, we have more important things to worry about with gerrymandering and Kash Patel's favourite choice of morning scotch. Sad to see...
