  1. You mentioned 2 LAWS. AI Laws are broad, legally binding rules enacted by legislative bodies (parliament/congress) to establish rights and obligations. Regulations are detailed, technical rules created by executive agencies or departments under authority given by a law to implement, enforce, or explain that law in detail. So what regulations would you do away with? - Construction and fire codes? -Setbacks from waterways for industries? -Safety regulations that save worker's lives? -Runoff and tailing ponds regulations that protect irrigation and drinking water? -Food ingredients? -You want to bring back flammable baby clothes? -Transportation regulations? Road, rail, and aviation? -Top countries for high, effective regulatory enforcement include Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany. And yet they're among the most efficient and happiest nations. Singapore! When you start looking at regulations you find they are there for good reasons,: safety and improvement.
  2. I'm not telling anyone how they should act or think. I just asked a question which no one, including you, has even tried to answer. Is Christianity without empathy possible?
  3. A civil servant is someone who cuts red tape - lengthwise!
  4. Please! Can someone tell me how anyone with a brain could reach that conclusion?
  5. That's a very relative assessment. Rich is a comparative word. I have a roof over my head and enough to eat. Does that make me rich?
  6. This is where you have imprecatory psalms. This is where you pray strongly,” he said. “The psalmist is not shy. God, destroy them. Make them as dung on the ground. Haymes repeated that he wants “death and new life” for Talarico. “And if it would not be within God’s will to do so, stop him by any means necessary,” he said. At one point, the podcast host said Talarico “is the kind of guy you pray imprecatory psalms against. And I mean that actually.” An imprecatory psalm is a biblical song or prayer that invokes God’s judgment, curses or destruction upon enemies. But yeah, I guess they only had his best interest at heart.
  7. Yeah, men who transition to female should not be allowed to compete aginst women. They carry muscle over through the transition. Unfair advantage.
  8. Not my buddy. (I caught him cheating at chess a few too many times.) WTF is a tankerman? And again, which regulations do you want to get rid of. "Too many regulations!" is just a right wing slogan.
  9. Not teaching. (How the phuck did you come to that conclusion?) Just asking. Try reading the OP a little slower next time, maybe you'll get it.
  10. Hey! Rip Van Winkle! Catch up on the news you missed while you were in that coma!
  11. Christianity without empathy? Is that even possible? https://www.huffpost.com/entry/pete-hegseth-pastor-james-talarico-death_n_69c18fe3e4b0964b57003b56?origin=home-latest-news-unit "The pastor from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s home church in Tennessee said last week on a podcast that he wants James Talarico to die. “I pray that God kills him,” Haymes said." https://www.huffpost.com/entry/maga-christians-empathy_l_69826fc3e4b0f9ced96f23e5 "The rise of Christian nationalism has seen empathy demonized as “sinful,” “dangerous,” “weak,” and even a tool of liberal manipulation. Calls for compassion toward marginalized groups are increasingly met with defensiveness or hostility." “I can't stand empathy. I think empathy is a made-up, New Age term that — it does a lot of damage, but it is very effective when it comes to politics.” – Charlie Kirk Joe Rigney (author of The Sin of Empathy) "...(Women's) “God-given” impulse to “move toward the hurting with comfort and welcome becomes a major liability when it comes to guarding the doctrine and worship of the church.” Jesus: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Matthew 22:39, KJV).
  12. Companies will be interested when pipelines are a profitable investment. Oil is temporarily high but will drop back down in a few months. If a company comes forward that law will quickly be amended or dropped.
  13. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your POV) Avi Lewis will take the NDP too far to the left. Gone are the Heydays of Broadbent, Layton, and Mulcair.
  14. So what are all these regulations the Cons would do away with then? Sounds like you want them all to stay in place. I guess you haven't been to any cities to experience smog. And yes, many first nations want economic projects, through negotiations, not government steam-rolling. You sure about that? https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/principles-principes.html#:~:text=The Supreme Court of Canada, the land and its resources. The Supreme Court of Canada has confirmed that Aboriginal title gives the holder the right to use, control, and manage the land and the right to the economic benefits of the land and its resources. The Indigenous nation, as proper title holder, decides how to use and manage its lands for both traditional activities and modern purposes,
  15. So you want: Sewage and toxic waste in the lake your kids swim in? No safety rules so more construction workers are dying from 'accidents'? Lovely blue smoggy air in all our cities? More E Coli in your meat? Or do you prefer Salmonella? No building codes? A little fire never hurt anyone, right? Armed battles between Police and First Nations? All you want is more of their land- what's their problem? Companies shouldn't have to pay taxes on their profits, right? Wages? Minimum Shminimum! Etc... Yeah we need more economic activity. We just don't have to trash ourselves to do it.
  16. People have been predicting the 'Life of Leisure' for decades at least. Brought about by automation mostly. But their predictions were (are) always off the mark. The rich have leisure as they always have. Many of the working class have lots of free time too. But it's called unemployment - they don't have the money for "Leisure". All they have is TV and Internet (a lot of which is destructive as we're seeing now). Fortunately we have some social programs to mitigate. But what will happen as AI and Robotics eliminate many more jobs, specially when governments won't adequately tax the new channels of profit making? Oddly enough, Richard Nixon advocated for a 'Guaranteed Income'. Maybe that's what it will come to. But as all those other predictions show, it's a Mug's Game.
  17. Confirned by Homan this morning. “I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE Agents to the Airports where they will do Security like no one has ever seen before,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. How long before people start booing ICE and some trigger-happy recruit over-reacts? Will they still be masked? Fortunately airports have de-icing equipment.
  18. J.D. Vance, J Edgar Hoover, 50s Icon Bob Hope. Right wing Drama Queens.
  19. Are you INSANE or really that phuckin' STOOPID? Well, which is it?
  20. Are you INSANE or really that phuckin' STOOPID? Well, which is it?
  21. Yeah, Yeah. Law of the jungle. Survival of the fittest. Same old crap. So you and your l'il boy PeePee would abolish all taxes and programs? Sounds more like Anarchy than governance.
