  1. "Whatever source??" It's the 2026 budget of the DOJ, published by the US government. If I don't reply in the future, it's because your posts are too stupid to reply to.
  2. First - it's not about me. I don't think I have ever made it about me. (The Right, though, tends to do that a lot.) Do not make me responsible for all the crazies out there, but only hold me to my own words. Heck, for any lunatic leftist, I can give you the extremist words of two rightists. But I have concentrated on what leadership is doing. I've yet to get any valid rebuttal or counterpoints to all the things I have posted about Trump. If Trump has ever been called a "Nazi" it was in reaction to something "Nazi-like" that he said or did. The truth is that he has demonstrated a lot of fascist tendencies and behaviors, and he's been called out on that. Do not shoot the messenger, but heed the message. No Democrat in leadership comes even close to the things Trump has said or done.
  3. Clearly a veiled threat - some kind of blackmail - "Gut worker's protections, rights and wages, like Trump is doing in the US, or we go." It's noteworthy, though, that at the same time many American professionals indicate they are considering moving to Canada. One recent survey put the figure at 75% of American scientists considering moving here. Canada's federal budget ... pledged a targeted injection of up to $1.7 billion over the next 13 years for measures to recruit top international talent, including senior scientists and scholars to serve as research leads and funding for their labs and projects. There would also be money to lure doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and assistant professors to relocate to our universities. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/fedbudget-highered-talent-recruitment-9.6976821
  4. Okay, so just to clarify, y'all support cutting $1.4 billion from law enforcement?
  5. You really need to examine why you feel you must go to all lengths to protect Trump in all things, even to the point of dismissing reality.
  6. Yes, it is more common than we would like - government gets elected by democratic means, but once in power, the levers of government are bent away from the people to the ruler. In fact, the decline of democracy around the world currently is a real concern https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-world/2022/global-expansion-authoritarian-rule
  7. Look, the writing is on the wall, if you care to see it. First, cast political opposition as subhuman “radical lunatics” that do not deserve the right of law, captured nicely by a 30-second floor speech Representative Bob Onder (R-MO) that makes it clear the opposition must be eliminated: “If we didn't know it already, there is no longer any middle ground. Some of them American left are undoubtedly well-meaning people. But their ideology is pure evil. They hate the good, the truth, and the beautiful, and embrace the evil, the false, and the ugly.” Then prep the military brass about the expectations put on them - enforce Trump’s agenda or put their positions at risk: “We’re under invasion from within,” Trump said. “No different than a foreign enemy … I signed an order for a quick reaction force to help quell civil disturbances. That’s going to be a big thing for people in this room. It’s a war from within.” Have a look at the National Security Presidential Memorandum NSM-7 (September 25) – which takes a whole-government approach not to reacting to acts of terrorism – but plans to go after those that the Trump administration says could be sources of terrorism – i.e. anyone who opposes Trumps’ policies. How many times has Trump called Democrats terrorists? The memorandum says they will go after a wide range of people, including “anti-capitalists” and those with “hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality,” – and who will be decided by the Trump administration - all as they rapidly expand surveillance state against the administration’s critics.
  8. I dunno, Trump is the guy who asked his Joint Chiefs of Staff, in all serious, about protestors, "Can't you just shoot 'em? Just shoot 'em in the legs or something?"
  9. Do you think the "I was just following orders" is a valid defense against committing war crimes? No. Ask the Nazis at Nuremberg, where the International Military Tribunal established that a subordinate has a duty to disobey a clearly illegal order.
  10. Oversight is not treason, and opponents are not traitors. Trump’s goal is not debate, but to instill fear in any who might oppose him. He wants everyone to think, “Will I be next?” In a free society, you punish illegal orders, not those who warn against them. For all people in uniform: Your oath is to the Constitution, not an individual.
  11. I choose to read this as bait, because no sane person would suggest that people who advise to follow the law should be "roasted" - but, I dunno, maybe you are insane?
  12. Hey, MAGA! You think Trump is deploying the military to cities to “reduce crime” – don’t you? That’s what he told you. Then why is he shifting funds away from violence prevention and local law enforcement and toward troops who stand in low-crime areas and don’t make arrests? Based on the known spending so far, the deployments cost Americans roughly two-thirds of a billion dollars, and this is expected to increase to into the billions. You need to learn that nothing Trump says should be taken at face value. Here’s the scoop. I’ve had a look at the U.S. Department of Justice Fiscal Year 2026 Budget and Performance Summary (June 13, 2025) – and these cuts are happening: $354 million cut from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (page 157) whose mission is this: The ATF protects communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, illegal use and trafficking of firearms, illegal use and storage of explosives, acts of arson and bombings, and acts of terrorism. The ATF partners with communities, industries, law enforcement, and public safety agencies to safeguard the public through information sharing, training, research, and the application of technology. $207.5 million cut from the Office on Violence Against Women (page 169) – whose mission is this: The mission of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is to provide Federal leadership to reduce violence against women, and to support the administration of justice for and strengthen services to all victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. $72.8 million cut from Community Oriented Policing Service (COPS) (page 177) – whose mission is this: The mission of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is to reduce crime and advance public safety through common sense, community policing. By proactively addressing the root causes of criminal and disorderly behavior, rather than simply responding to crimes once they have been committed, common sense efforts concentrate on preventing both crime and the atmosphere of fear it creates. Altogether, law enforcement components have been reduced by $1.4 billion (page 16) from 2025 to 2026. Instead of diverting funds to deploy military to cities, which is really only being done for show, that money would be better spent on solving America’s under-policing problem. Consider Washington, D.C., which has a police-officer shortage of about 800 cops. Filling every one of those positions would cost significantly less than the $200 million spent for the deployment to that city. And as all this happens, the Trump administration is cutting budgets to initiatives that reduce crime: In April, the DOJ’s Office of Justice Programs terminated 373 grants affecting 221 organizations for a total of $819.7 million that: … provided federal support for violence reduction, policing and prosecution, victims’ services, juvenile justice and child protection, substance use and mental health treatment, corrections and reentry, justice system enhancements, research and evaluation, and other state- and local-level public safety functions.
  13. You're not debating in good faith
  14. I know both myself, and Trump, better than you, and I am right and you are wrong.
  15. Everything I presented to you is a fact. For you to reply, "forget the facts, there is something wrong with you" indicates a real break from reality, on your part.
  16. Tell me if you think what Trump has recently posted is fascist, and if not, what political ideology does it fit. Democrat veterans in Congress reminded members of the military not to follow illegal orders. Trump has called for the death of these members. Here’s what he has posted: "It's called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to Our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand - We won't have a Country anymore!!! An example must be set. President DJT" "This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT" "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!" https://www.instagram.com/p/DRSHeuUDxZm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== https://www.instagram.com/p/DRSc95fE76U/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  17. Oh, piddle, paddle, fiddle, faddle. Suddenly you guys are sticklers?? The thing is, once a person is recognized as a liar, once he is shown to lie so casually and easily, how can you believe anything he says? Lying is a matter of course for Trump. Here’s a few of the lies he recently threw out. In his recent 60 Minutes interview, this is what Trump said: Do you know how many presidents have used the Insurrection Act? … Almost 50% of 'em. Do you know that some of the presidents, recent ones, have used it 28 times? Twenty-eight times. The Insurrection Act has been used routinely by presidents. I haven't chosen to use it, but if I-- because I've done well without it. But if I needed it, I could do it. And if I needed it, that would mean I could bring in the Army, the Marines, I could bring in whoever I want. But I haven't chosen to use it. I hope you give me credit for that. No. According to the Brennan Centre, not 50% of presidents have invoked the Resurrection Act, and no president has invoked it 28 times. In fact, it has only been invoked a total of 30 times since 1794. The president who invoked it the most times, and it wasn’t a recent one, was Ulysses Grant in the years following the Civil War. He invoked it six times, mostly to contain violence from white supremacist groups, including following the Vicksburg massacre of freed Blacks in Mississippi. But it seems this time Trump threatens to invoke the Insurrection Act on the side of the white supremacist groups. Another lie - in a recent post, he said that the shutdown cost America $1.5 trillion. More of his pulling imaginary numbers out of thin air. (It was in the same post that he said, “Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.” – of the Epstein “hoax” – what blatant manipulation! - I think the only one setting the trap is him.) https://www.instagram.com/p/DQ-Gjw6DpCH/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== The shutdown will cost the economy billions (estimates range between 7-11 billion dollars for each week of the shut down) but that is no-where near $1.5 trillion. And here’s a whopper – his tariffs “saved the entire world from depression” - according to him. How can you in any way shape or from take this person seriously?
  18. Your frame of reference is so narrow it is astounding. Do you support any of the following??? · Concocting a false elector scheme in order to attempt to steal a free and fair election that he lost. · Pardoning criminals who beat and threatened the lives of police officers. · Giving a loyalty test to candidates considered for positions in the intelligence community – asking them to give “yes” or “no” responses to the questions: Was Jan. 6 “an inside job?” And was the 2020 presidential election “stolen?” - before employment is considered? · Making “extremism” a crime, as it is in Russia (that’s what they got Navalny for). The Presidential Memorandum MSPM-7 identifies a new category – “pre-terrorist” – and they can get you using tax law and banking. So, for example a donation to the ACLU may put you under suspicion. “Squeeze, arrest and detain first, justify later.” · Telling universities what they are allowed to teach, with a view that all taught must align with the Trump ideology? · Decimating the science community · Purging military command of people of colour and women, like by firing the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., who is Black; the first woman to command the Navy, Adm. Lisa Franchetti; and the U.S. military’s representative to the NATO military committee, Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield. ? · Manufacturing a “war at home” narrative – including casting judges, governors, and the political opposition as obstacles to “order” and as “terrorists” – propagating chaos and crises - describing relatively peaceful cities as “war zones” – manufacturing the “enemy within” – (so he can invoke the Insurrection Act and cancel future elections). · Dehumanizing his political opponents – calling Democrats “evil” and “dangerous” and “THE PARTY OF HATE, EVIL AND SATAN” · Dehumanizing immigrants – calling them “vermin” – saying “they’re poisoning the blood of our country” and this famous quote - “The Democrats say, ‘Please don’t call them animals. They’re humans.’ I said, ‘No, they’re not humans, they’re not humans. They’re animals.’” · Telling the top military brass they had better prepare to go after American citizens …. Trump said, “We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.” … “We’re under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy—but harder because they don’t wear uniforms.” … “I signed an order for a quick reaction force to help quell civil disturbances. That’s going to be a big thing for people in this room. It’s a war from within.” … Trump told them their duty is to protect America from threats “foreign and domestic” with the emphasis on “domestic” – and then came the threat: If they “didn’t like it,” they could leave the room—but “there goes your rank, there goes your future.” · Gutting accountability institutions and regulations, tightening presidential control over independent agencies and the executive bureaucracy, decreasing the political independence of the civil service, and purging perceived opponents from the branch. · Making the Administration dominant over Congress, the judiciary and the states, causing grave harm to the system of checks and balances, defying court orders, criticizing judicial rulings, and constraining individual judges, circumventing congressional policies and undermining their powers, and attacking and constraining state governments that do not align with administration policies. · Weakening societal constraints on executive power, attacking independent media, punishing lawyers perceived to be oppositional, constraining civic and educational institutions, weakening voting rights and the independence of election administration, and pursuing widespread retribution against perceived opponents and critics. · Pardoning criminals as long as they support Trump. Re - Rep George Santos, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for financial fraud. He pled guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He acknowledged lying to Congress, stealing money from campaign donors and fraudulently collecting unemployment benefits. Trump’s response? “He lied like hell … but he was 100 percent for Trump.” … and “At least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!” · Kicking, dragging and detaining American citizens without arrest warrants or any due process · Replacing the photo of Biden in the Presidential Walk with a picture of an autopen · Using food as a bargaining chip: “We will starve the people if you don’t let us take their health care.” · Pointing his finger in the face of a female reporter and saying, “Quiet, piggy.” · Posting an AI video of him as a fighter pilot bombing American citizens with literal shit · Going to great lengths to cover up for sexual predators and pedophiles · Conducting foreign affairs with one view in mind: “How can I and my family profit from this?” · Suing the US for $230 million to compensate for past investigations against him · Posting an image of Biden hogtied in the back of a pick-up truck · Having a dictator rule the USA? Minister of Propaganda Stephen Miller has said the quiet part out loud – what they seek is plenary authority for Trump – and that is by definition authoritarianism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-csuAMzhpk&t=2s Trump offers MAGA nothing but show, spectacle, chaos and hate. That’s how he gets their adulation. Trump has no vision, no ideas, no solutions. He’s only concerned with how to best to sell his brand, and to consolidate his own power and wealth. You support that?
  19. I wonder if the founding fathers were accused of having King George derangement syndrome.
  20. That is not a defense of illegal immigration. It's recognizing that the way Trump has characterized illegal immigrants is not a reflection of reality, and he has done so to keep you occupied with hate while he loots the country. A person may have no support for crime while at the same time recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of every human being. These two things can happen at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.
  21. "If it doesn't affect me personally it is not happening."
  22. Are you living in an alternate reality? Trump is decimating all services to American citizens. He’s eroding worker’s protections, cutting wages and making working conditions worse, hurting Americans with his trade wars, and causing prices to go up, causing Americans to lose their health care, or see their premiums rise, eroding financial protection ... etc etc ... he has nothing for the average American
  23. Well, the US was doing a pretty good job of helping out before Trump. Why stop now?
  24. This is just false. Consider the First Nations Haida, in BC, given title to the lands on Haida Gwaii, marking a significant milestone in the journey to not only self-sufficiency, but reconciliation. They are a dynamic, robust community, and isn't that what we want for all First Nations? Defensive and unsubstantiated I know it's difficult to understand where the First Nations are coming from, but it helps if you don't make it about yourself, and read up on the history.
