  1. Wow, three "special kind of stupid" (the kind that Trump likes) posts in a row When dissent becomes "domestic terrorism" you are no longer living in a free society
  2. Yes, but Trump also set conditions – he would only pledge the support of the US to “like minded ‘patriotic parties’ [on] the continent”
  3. Here’s where extreme religion leads – in a sermon entitled “Pray the Gay Away” – a pastor of a Baptist Church calls for the execution of members of the LGBTQ+ community. When asked for a statement to explain his sermon, the response was this: “… only calling for the death penalty and suicide for the actual sodomites (homosexuals). The Bible teaches that those people are worthy of death. They are supposed to be executed by the government.”
  4. The title of article is misleading. It's the Bloc that are introducing the amendment, not the Liberals. Besides, why should religious texts be allowed to peddle hate?
  5. The Trump Administration is following the authoritarian model of Russia. They want to kill the First Amendment. I doubt the timing is coincidental: In November, the anti-corruption organization founded by Aleksei Navalny had its designation ratcheted up from an “extremist” group to a “terrorist” group by the Russian Supreme Court. (It was for the crime of “extremism” that Navalny was imprisoned and lost his life.) Mr. Navalny’s organization, the Anti-Corruption Fund, had already been labeled “extremist” by another Russian court in 2021, a decision that liquidated the group in Russia and sent most of its members into exile to avoid long prison sentences. Under the new terrorism designation, anyone who cooperates with the organization could be imprisoned for life. Now, just a couple of days ago, Pam Bondi has ordered American law enforcement groups to investigate “extremists.” She’s asked the FBI to compile a list of entities possibly engaged in domestic terrorism. Notice how broad and ill-defined are the criteria that might land you under federal investigation. Pam Bondi wrote in the memo: "These domestic terrorists use violence or the threat of violence to advance political and social agendas, including opposition to law and immigration enforcement; extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, or anti-Christianity.” It’s chilling, and certainly gives the government a lot of wiggle room. The signing of Presidential Memorandum NSPM-7, in September, set the stage. Under the auspices of that, you might be investigated for a donation to the ACLU. According to the ACLU: Like the president’s investigation into the Open Society Foundations and his order purporting to designate “Antifa” as a “domestic terrorist organization,” which is not a thing!), NSPM-7 is a deliberate attempt to sow fear and intimidate and silence opposition to the president’s abuses.
  6. I did have a chance to read the US National Security Strategy paper referenced in the video, and the video does a good job of summarizing why it is so alarming. Thanks for sharing. In another thread, I referred to the Strategy paper as a "break-up letter with Europe and Canada, and a love letter to Russia."
  7. Do your own homework. Read the report. It’s believed the KGB had a file on Trump as early as 1977 - the year he married Ivana Zelnickova, a citizen of a communist country, and therefore of interest both to the Czech intelligence service, the StB, and to the FBI and CIA. By the mid-1980s, a KGB memo expressed disappointment in their lack of success in recruiting American citizens. Enter Donald Trump. The KGB paid for his trip to Moscow in 1987, where they stayed in Lenin’s suite at the National Hotel. He was groomed as a “confidential contact.” They charmed him, and used flattery on him, and “worked on him [Trump] like honey to a bee,” for he is easily manipulated. GRU operative Suvorov was personally involved in recruitment … Soviet spy agencies were always interested in cultivating “young ambitious people” … a “guy with a future” … Once in Moscow, the Trumps received lavish hospitality. “Everything is free. There are good parties with nice girls. It could be a sauna and girls and who knows what else.” The hotel rooms or villa were under “24-hour control” with “security cameras and so on,” Suvorov said. “The interest is only one. To collect information and keep that information about him for the future.” When Trump got home, he took out full page ads in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe criticizing US foreign policy. The Hidden History of Trump's First Trip to Moscow
  8. I know it’s difficult for MAGA to understand that when others criticize Trump, and explain the very many reasons he is not fit to be president of the USA, that this does not involve hate, but concern over troubling trends. I think it is projection, projection of the hate they feel for anyone who dares express a word against their dear leader, since they have fused their identities with him, as well as their shared hate for certain groups, like immigrants and Democrats.
  9. No, by people who can read the writing on the wall. The evidence is overwhelming that he is on Russia's side. In November, the Trump Administration released The National Security Strategy of the USA - and it is basically a break-up letter to Europe and Canada, and a love letter to Russia. I have no opinion about the hookers, and I think they are irrelevant to this discussion, but it's as plain as the nose on your face that Russia provided a lot of help to Trump, and still do. Don't get hung up on the word "collusion" - it's a red herring. Recently, X quietly rolled out a new feature: if you click on an account’s “Joined” date, it now shows the country or region the account is based in. And, lo and behold, all kinds of MAGA/US Patriot accounts based in Russia were revealed. Here’s one – MAGA Nation - (392,400 followers) Remember the news story from 2024 about the Russia-based bot farm impersonating Americans? US officials say they have taken action against an AI-powered information operation run from Russia, including nearly 1,000 accounts pretending to be Americans. The accounts on X were designed to spread pro-Russia stories but were automated “bots” - not real people. In court documents made public Tuesday the US justice department said the operation was devised by a deputy editor at Kremlin-owned RT, formerly Russia Today. He's been a Russian asset since the 1980s. First, you need to learn that the Trump administration is incompetent and lazy. If Russia does the homework for them, they would welcome that. Second, you need to know that the Kremlin says one thing and does another. It's in their strategy to sometimes play opposite to what their real intentions are. They are way more cagey than you or me. You must learn to never take at face value anything the Kremlin says. I have no personal feelings for Trump. Quit it with that condescending attitude.
  10. I pay my taxes, and my country Canada provides more in foreign aid per capita than does the US. For Canada, it's $229.33 per capita, for the US, it's $185.82
  11. I'm not sure of your meaning. You do recognize that anti-transgenderism is based on ideology, and supporting transgender persons is a matter of medical treatment?
  12. The cuts at USAID have killed hundreds of thousands. That is not lie. But do tell yourself any lie you need to, in order to live with yourself, and not face the chaos and destruction unleashed by the Trump administration. If hundreds of thousands do not affect you, maybe one will. At the link below is the story of Rovina and her daughter Jane "Rovina's Choice" Shows How The Shutdown of U.S.A.I.D. Has Already Killed Hundreds of Thousands
  13. Sourcing the Administration is the equivalent of saying "If you don't believe me, just ask me." Again, quoting a "senior administration official" is not evidence of anything. The PEPFAR budget for 2025 was $4.85 billion. For 2026, it is $2.9 billion (a decrease of $1.9 billion,) And of course, PEPFAR's implementation of programs has been severely disrupted by staff reductions at the CDC and USAID.
  14. There has been much speculation that it was indeed written in Russian and then later translated, as much of the language and demands shows. Poland’s prime minister, Donald Tusk, remarked: “It would be good to know for sure who is the author of the plan and where was it created.” Supposedly drawn up by Kirill Dmitriev, Vladimir Putin’s envoy, with Steve Witkoff, nevertheless a group of US senators said Rubio told them the text was not an American one. It was, they said, a Russian document deliberately leaked by Moscow which the US then passed on to Ukraine. I'm not sure why you think that the peace plan being drawn up by the Russians to be so far-fetched. Trump has been a Russian asset for years. No. Because it is Putin.
  15. This is unsound reasoning - a logical fallacy. For your identity to be rooted in one gender or another depends on how the brain developed. But, to think you are a particular individual rather than yourself is a delusion. The biological underpinnings of transgenderism have been studied, and they seem to point most likely to the hormone environment in utero. Also, twin studies point to the influence of genes. But it is my considered opinion that all the scientific evidence in the world would not change your prejudice.
  16. You saying it does not make it true. Provide sources. Numbers do not lie. Did you see my post based on the Impact Tracker? Besides, any changes made to PEPFAR were because of the intervention of Congress, not Trump According to Google AI: While core PEPFAR funding was preserved by Congress, the initial freeze and the general cuts to USAID programs have still caused significant disruption and funding shortfalls in many countries. South Africa, a major recipient of PEPFAR funds, saw a halt in an estimated 70% of expected funding earlier in 2025, which led to a reduction of thousands of health workers. UNAIDS has warned that the overall funding cuts and disruptions could lead to millions of additional HIV infections and deaths globally in the coming years.
  17. No, it was actual clips of Trump speaking.
  18. From the “peace president” who openly calls for executions of his political opponents: Earlier this year, DOGE pushed out the leadership of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), an independent agency. Eliminated all federal support. Removed the board. Handed out pink slips. Now, to add insult to injury, in a grotesque move, President Donald Trump’s name has been installed on the headquarters’ building and signage around the USIP – “Welcome to the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. The best is yet to come,” the State Department posted on X Wednesday, announcing it had renamed the institute “to reflect the greatest dealmaker in our nation’s history.” George Foote, counsel for former USIP leadership and staff, said in a statement: “A federal judge has already ruled that the government’s armed takeover was illegal. That judgment is stayed while the government appeals, which is the only reason the government continues to control the building. The rightful owners will ultimately prevail and will restore the U.S. Institute of Peace and the building to their statutory purposes.” Another example of Trump’s self-promotion without doing any of the work. He’s branded the Institute of Peace with his name, an accolade he most assuredly does not deserve.
  19. 1789 Capital is a venture capital firm founded by pro-Trump donors that brought Trump Jr. in as a partner last year. Since Trump’s inauguration, 1789’s portfolio companies have won contracts from the Trump administration totalling more than $735 million. If you can’t see the conflict of interest, then you are not looking. Another company is Unusual Machines, who were awarded a contract from the US army to manufacture 3,500 drones and there’s a plan to order an additional 20,000 components from the Trump Jr- backed firm next year. Unusual Machines brought Trump Jr. on as an adviser just weeks after the 2024 election, even though he had no notable experience with drones or military contracting. https://truthout.org/articles/trump-jr-backed-company-receives-620-million-pentagon-loan/ When self-dealing becomes the criterion and favoured method of operation, the government is corrupted.
  20. No, it is your opinion, a point-of-view grounded in ignorance and narrow-mindedness. So, you oppose accepted medical treatments for the military in order to save a few bucks? This would contravene US federal law, specifically Article 10 of the US Code.
  21. The video at the link is of Trump – some clips from 2024, and his “updated” quotes from 2025 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DR5JZGhj7V4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  22. Well, you didn't look very hard. The numbers are all over the internet. Here they are, quoted from the Impact dashboard: PEPFAR Additional Adult Deaths Additional Adult HIV Deaths HIV 137,930Adult Deaths 159,272Adult Deaths 3.3 min Disrupted Source: USAID View Methodology View Details PEPFAR Additional Infant Deaths Additional Infant HIV Deaths HIV 14,682Infant Deaths 16,954Infant Deaths 31 min Disrupted Source: USAID 83% of the programmes run by USAID have been cancelled. This did not only affect people with AIDS, but also disrupted malaria-control supply chains, closed down the he UN World Food Programme in South Africa, and hinder support for health care, nutrition, development, humanitarian relief, education, and other sectors. An independent, peer-reviewed analysis in The Lancet estimated that U.S.A.I.D. assistance had saved ninety-two million lives over two decades. To imagine that the impact of the cuts would not be huge is to bury your head in the sand. Here’s the UNAID analysis, the predictions for between 2025-2029 · An additional 6.6 million new HIV Infections  o About 2300 additional new HIV infections per day  o A total of 5800 new infections per day today compared to 3500 in 2023 o 660 000 additional new HIV infections among children between 2025 and 2029.   · An additional 4.2 million AIDS-related deaths  o Over 600 additional AIDS-related deaths per day o A total of 2400 deaths per day in 2025 compared to 1700 in 2023 o  An additional 300 000 children will die of AIDS related causes between 2025 and 2029.  · 3 million additional children orphaned by AIDS  According to the Lancet: Forecasting models predicted that the current steep funding cuts could result in more than 14 051 750 (uncertainty interval 8 475 990–19 662 191) additional all-age deaths, including 4 537 157 (3 124 796–5 910 791) in children younger than age 5 years, by 2030.
  23. I have more than once cited the scientific research that shows that the brain develops gender separately from the body. In most cases, the development is coincidental, and a cisgender person is born. But in some cases, the brain develops a different gender (during the third trimester of pregnancy, under the influence of genes and hormones) than the body (during the first trimester of pregnancy, under the influence of genes) and a transgender person is born. But in any case, who are you to question the identity of another who feels quite strongly it is their identity? Who are you to judge?
  24. Now who is making up things? Yes, you are. I don't need to make up anything. Trump is a deep well of aberrations.
