  1. I really don't know how you can be so dumb, so dishonest, and still strut around like misguided rooster. Jeebus. You think Biden was senile, but he clearly knows a LOT more about economics than you do (a very low bar) and is sharper on the facts too. Here is the quote: “Today we received news that our economy had 0 percent inflation in the month of July,” he said. “Zero percent. Here’s what that means. While the price of some things went up last month, the price of other things went down by the same amount. The result, 0 inflation last month.” Biden was 100% right. The July 2022 report of the CPI shows 0% inflation. Instead of watching Fox News and re-vomiting it here like a farking bot, you could save yourself the embarrassment and check an original source. Here's the report from the BLS. <-- that funny blue underlined text means you can click it and see original data. -- I'm sure it's scary to try new things for the first time, but see if you can manage. Or here's a screenshot. Biden was right and truthful. You were wrong as always. And if past performance tells us anything, you're not even going to be man enough to admit it. You'll just keep lying about it in every goddamn thread, as you always do. You're pathetic.
  2. Yes, FFS. Without hesitation, reservation or doubt. Fox isn't a news network. Never has been. They don't hire journalists and have never won a single award for journalism. This is exactly what Ailes and Murdoch intended. It was literally and explicitly created to do Republican PR, not news. The fact that you still can't understand this is laughable.
  3. He's already been found liable for sexual assault that is rape in common parlance. He's already boasted about habitual sexual assault. His first wife signed a sworn affidavit that he had raped her, IIRC. He's quite obviously and admittedly guilty of a lot of sexual misconduct. You guys just don't care. To paraphrase an awful human being, "He could rape a nun in the middle of 5th avenue and not lose any votes."
  4. As you've repeatedly ignored, "no inflation" is your lie. You're the only one saying that. My favorite, of course, since you're such a farking sub that you'll defend it, is the inaugural rain. I also love how he completely made up that his extortion call to Zelensky was recorded, and that they released the tape. Every claim he makes about the economy is totally bogus, just made up nonsense. Biden had record inflation? Nope. Best economy in history? Nope. It's cliche at this point, but had never been more true about a politician: you'll know he's lying when his lips are moving. Trump has no conception of--nor concern with--reality. It works save time to try and identify anything he said that is true.
  5. No, you halfwit, Trump has never been able to speak coherently. It's just a rambling spaghetti-like like of lies. Not a surprise you can't tell the difference. And I've said for a long time that Biden was too old. But I'd take a half-present Biden over a Trump every day--and twice on Sundays.
  6. Smarter, mainstream Republicans are surely aware of the problem already, but the MAGA crowd lacks empathy and insight. They think "everyone" is as hateful as they are. Right now, with the prospect of a Harris candidacy, women are waking up. The disaffected middle is waking up. Minority voters are waking up. They will be energized about this election cycle in a way they simply couldn't be with a rerun between two decrepit white men. And they are going to pair her with a compelling running mate--someone like Mark Kelly. In spite of Kamala's past personality challenges, this is going to feel like a forward-looking campaign. A breath of fresh air compared to the gerentocracy. Trump spent 4 years chipping away at women's rights and civil rights, and she's going to stand onstage across from him and credibly create the starkest contrast possible. And Vance, simply doubling down on Trumpiness, would have worked fine in a race against Biden, by now becomes a liability. The antidote to the politics of hate and spite, regression and oppression will be hope and optimism. I don't love Kamala Harris--maybe no one does --but she can credibly carry the right message at the right time. She hasn't said a word yet, but this is now her race to lose. She may open polling ahead of Trump before she even campaigns. Trump is in trouble.
  7. The psychic hotline, I presume? What a nutter.
  8. What, and commit some sort of coup?🤔 No, of course she won't. Democrats are the ones trying to preserve democracy from MAGA fascism. But I absolutely LOVE that all of you coup-denying Trump apologists might have to consider the prospect of tasting your own treasonous medicine.
  9. Sure. That's why the conspiracy nuts accuse him of using performance enhancing drugs. Because he wasn't performing. 🙄
  10. Because he's clearly not fit enough for another 4 years. He (and Trump, for that matter) were too old last time, but everyone hoped that he was the guy from the State of the Union, most of the time with occasional lapses. But at that debate he looked a lot more like a guy who is lapsing most of the time and only occasionally has a SOTU moment. It's time for him to retire.
  11. OMG, you just used a year's supply of irony in a single post.🤯 YOU are in no position to throw stones.
  12. If you had kept reading the link you posted, you'd have gotten to the part where, yeah, Russia did hack the DNC. And, yeah, it wasn't just a joyride, they took the data. " CrowdStrike Statement of Response: The suggestion that CrowdStrike ‘had no proof’ of the data being exfiltrated is incorrect. Shawn Henry clearly said in his testimony that CrowdStrike had indicators of exfiltration ( page 32 of the testimony) and circumstantial evidence (page 75) that indicated the data had been exfiltrated. Also, please note that the Senate Intelligence Committee in April 2020 issued a report (https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Report_Volume4.pdf/) validating the previous conclusions of the Intelligence community that Russia was behind the DNC data breach." None of which has anything to do with this nutball thread
  13. That's a pretty silly equivalence. Obama was running in the primary against MORE experienced candidates, but he had spent his career in politics and government, including 7 years as a state senator and 3 as a US senator. And still, both Republicans and Democrats argued that he wasn't experienced enough. Then Republicans forgot all about that and decided, apparently, that media success is the only qualification one needs. I swear, they'd run Kim Kardashian if she were a gun nut. Trump ran his businesses into the ground. He bankrupted 3---three!---casinos, FFS. The only reason he's solvent today is because he clowned for the world on "reality" TV. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any problem with people trying to make a buck on reality TV, but it's the complete opposite of qualifying one for the presidency of the most powerful country on Earth. You guys decided to make Mike Judge look like a damn Oracle, bringing Idiocracy to life far faster than anyone imagined. And, for his part, Vance is not a total buffoon, but he's wildly unqualified to be on deck for the presidency, especially behind someone of Trump's age and fitness. Eh, I guess at least a memoire is an upgrade from reality TV. 🫠
  14. @WestCanMan, is that you? Sorry, but a Gish gallop of lies about unrelated subjects still doesn't add up to an argument.
  15. Maybe if Democrats had a deeper bench we could find someone who wrote a memoir but has almost no experience in politics or government. But hell, I suppose that's a pretty good resume for Republicans, who last ran a reality TV star with zero experience in politics and government. 🙄
  16. Sure. Tell that to Mike Pence, or Liz Cheney, Brad Raffensberger or any number of Republicans who simply did their jobs. And they're getting literal death threats for simply doing the right thing instead of following Trump. And people like Paul Ryan, once the VP nominee simply left because there was no room in the Party of Trump for conscientious disagreement.
  17. You say the craziest things. Today's Republican party could not be any more top-down. The litmus test for viability is loyalty to Trump--agreeing with whatever crazy shit he says next. People are not allowed to criticize him or oppose him. They must either bend the knee and kiss the ring or they are exiled and punished. If someone (even a VPOTUS, for example) doesn't go along with Trump's crooked, schemes they are risking not just their political future, but even their lives.
  18. Lol. Of course it is, though a bit dysfunctional at the moment. What you're doing here is like grade school "fact" chucking. Just because a bird is a crow doesn't mean it's not a bird. There are many variations within democracy. Ours is representative, and there are many flavors within that too.
  19. Of course he's a threat to democracy. He literally attempted a coup to have himself illegally declared the winner during the vote certification of an election that he lost. How can you possibly believe that he's not a threat to democracy when he's literally tried to overturn democracy to seize power? And we have seen clearly the many, many ways that he tried to abuse his power as President. You can't deny that they happened. You can only say that you don't mind corrupt, authoritarian government.
  20. And people like you are how we *know* that Trump and the MAGA turds are a threat to democracy. You're not even trying to hide it anymore. The party that used to complain primarily about "big government" is half full of people openly lusting for fascism. That's simply the government you want.
  21. A. Definitely in poor taste B. Losing jobs (social consequence) is clearly reasonable C. You don't have your fascist state yet, so slow your roll. This is still, for the time being, America. Nobody is getting arrested, let alone convicted or punished for wishing someone dead. Nor even for a basic threat, which these people are not even making. To cross the line from free speech to action it has to reasonably be a "true threat."
  22. I don't buy this reasoning at all. Every mistake in an organization does not and SHOULD not result in the firing or resignation of the head of the organization. The restaurant owner does not say "Oh, sorry you got bad fries. I guess I'll sell the restaurant." No, at most they should fire the fry cook or the chef or whoever else should have had responsibility for that meal. Taking responsibility as a leader doesn't mean you stop leading. It means you make the changes to the organization (personnel or otherwise) to ensure that processes will be improved and mistakes will not be repeated.
  23. Part of the story posted above include examples of how people in the administration, like John Kelly, used to head-off requests for illegal abuses of power from Trump--or sit on those requests until they were forgotten. But we know that part of Trump's plan for a second term is to avoid hiring people who might tell him "no" when he asks for those things. And we know of his plan to purge the federal bureaucracy of dedicated civil servants and replace them with Trump loyalists. At that point, it doesn't even have to be charges. There are myriad ways to inflict pain. Remember, this is a man who has no problem with pettiness and punching down. He picked a fight with (and sicked his dogs on) a damn court clerk, FFS.
  24. Happened to listen today to an episode of This American Life from June 7. It's a very interesting examination of what Trump might mean when he threatens retribution, how he views views presidential powers, as well as how that possibility is affecting people who might be likely targets of that retribution. Interviewees include Stephanie Grisham, Alex Vindman and others who committed the sin of "crossing" Trump in some way. Also interviewed are MAGA enthusiasts who aren't at all keen on the idea of government powers being used to settle personal grudges. Come Retribution Obviously, it's much better to listen and hear these people in their own voices, but there is also a transcript.
