So I know you only get your news from right-wing media, but if you actually fact-checked what you hear, you'd learn that Youtube and Twitter are actually biased in favor of conservatives. The Twitter hearings showed that they actually changed the TOS so that Trump could stay on the platformed. Not only does Youtube not censor the Right, but they even let insane fascists like PragerU run commercials for other videos. Nobody has a right to a platform. ROFLMAO! Yes, I know you're upset that Biden is fixing the economy. Republicans want to restrict civil liberties as much as they can, so much so that they decided to demonize a word that refers to awareness of injustice. All of their policies are either anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-choice, or anti-democracy. That's it. I disagree with everyone. I've never met another socialist that I agreed with on everything, but I don't call them fascist. I wish I could agree, but the average American doesn't follow politics that closely. Trump's attempt at blackmailing Zelenskyy so he could cheat in an election was one of the worst things he did, but most people are either unaware or don't fully understand what happened there. The average person just cares about what's happening in their day to day life. True, but Trump simps are more likely to get out and vote if they care about the actual person. It's not enough to just know that Trump endorsed them. We agree that anything can happen, so what really matters is that we vote. I just don't think the threat of Trump is gone yet. Nope, you're wrong again. Freedom of speech is entirely about the law. As in, you can't be legally prosecuted for speech. A private company is allowed to deplatform or fire you, even if you feel it's unfair, over speech. There are some exceptions, of course. If you're fired for talking about your religion at work, but other people regularly talk about their religion and don't get fired, you can sue for discrimination. But even there, you would have to make the claim that you were discriminated against based on your religion, which is a protected class in Canada and America. And even then, they would take into account exactly what you were saying. You can't demand human sacrifice and then claim it's just part of your religion. However, a private company can have a policy of not allowing any religion talk on the premise. Plus, if it's a religion-based company, they can have more leeway with firing people of other religions. Nope. As a private company Youtube can do that. They don't, I wish they did, but they could if they wanted to. No, because race, religion, and gender are all protected classes. Political affiliation is not. If you walk into a restaurant wearing your nazi uniform, you'll probably get kicked out, even if you claim that's discrimination.

Free speech means the government can't arrest you for speech. It DOES NOT MEAN that a private company owes you a platform. It's a bit more complicated. The reason he lost in 2020 was because he failed to handle covid. Chances are, there's not going to be another once in a lifetime issue like covid in 2024. And yeah, the Republicans got their cheeks clapped in the midterms, but that's because trumpian voters only care about personality. Trump can mobilize them, whereas people like Herschel Walker, Dr Oz, and Kari Lake can't. They don't have the entertaining personality that Trump has. These books are super old, most people didn't even know they existed. There was no "woke mob" calling for the books to be banned, it was simply a corporation deciding the books weren't worth publishing anymore. You can actually still buy those books online, it's not like they've been banned. Now, compare that to Republicans using government force to ban books from public libraries. Which of these two things is authoritarian? A private company making a personal decision about their own content? Or the government banning people from renting out books in libraries and schools? Even freedom of speech has its limitations. I agree that porn shouldn't be available in schools or libraries. But saying you can't learn about Marxism in public schools is extremely authoritarian. You're basically saying, I don't agree with this thing, so it should be banned. That's what China does.

In America, they were Trump simps. In Germany, they were "traditionalists" who are against women voting, gay marriage, and gender affirming care. A super common talking-point that fascists use is "you just call anyone who disagrees with you a fascist!" But I never do that. I call someone fascist if they're reactionary and authoritarian. If a political party and its supporters are against democracy and they want to restrict civil liberties, I think it's accurate enough to say they're fascist even if they don't self-identify that way.
