People who use this argument think that because humans are selfish, they're incapable of working together for survival unless they're forced to by the government. Here's a good way to put things into perspective. When Trump was impeached for trying to literally end our democracy, 10 Republicans voted to impeach him, 197 voted not to, and 4 refused to vote. Then there was the verdict in the senate, where 7 Republicans voted guilty, and 43 voted not guilty. So yes, there are a handful of Republicans who are willing to stand up to Trump. But the vast majority of them either agree with what he's doing or at least don't think his anti-democratic politics are all that bad. And I'm also being super generous here because this is just a referendum on Trump, not fascism. How many of the so-called "good Republicans" have spoken out against Ron DeSantis? I have a feeling a lot of these Republicans voted against Trump because he's a dumbass, but like DeSantis because he's more effective.

I guarantee like 90% of them would support Trump, DeSantis, or both. Conservatives are deranged authoritarians. When Biden talks about "MAGA Republicans," he's playing nice. Virtually all Republicans are MAGA Republicans.

Where are you getting this from? What their constitution said means nothing. China's constitution also claims it's democratic, dictators lie. The Soviet Union did have elections, but the candidates had to be members of the official state party. That's not a true democracy and it goes against actual marxism. And this wasn't something they implemented after years of trying communism or socialism, this was what they started with.

How exactly did the Bolsheviks attempt communism? They didn't expand democracy, they didn't try to eliminate the government, their system was closer to the system of czarist Russia than it was to communism. Absolutely not. First of all, the Soviet Union was never democratic. They didn't establish an authoritarian government after failing to establish communism, rather they didn't even try communism. Secondly, it actually became less authoritarian as time went on. That's not to say the Soviet Union was ever good, but the worst period was under Stalin. The following decades were a lot more liberal, especially under Gorbachev.

The cases you're referring to aren't about people who tried and failed to create communism. It's not that the Bolsheviks tried to build communism but they failed and ended up with authoritarianism. The Bolsheviks were tankies from the start. They never even won a national election to come to power, they were tyrants. Communism probably is impossible on a large scale. But you're not arguing against communism, you're arguing against state capitalism.

No, I was never in favor of forced vaccinations. But in certain situations, I think you shouldn't be allowed to participate unless you're vaccinated against highly contagious diseases. I also think that, while you shouldn't be forced to bath, there are certain areas that you should be banned from if you're covered in shit. So if it's a private company, I think that should be legal. If it's a government job, then no, because it's not a public health issue. The idea with public health is that, while you can destroy your own body if you want, you shouldn't be allowed to destroy other people's bodies. That's why we have laws about where you can smoke. I'm never wrong.

Every movement has at least a few violent extremists. Right-wing media tries to discredit Antifa by focusing on the fringe violence, just like they did in the sixties with the civil rights movement of that era. And it's the same thing with mass shootings. Cis men are vastly overrepresented when it comes to mass shooters, but right-wing media is focusing on the fringe cases to try to make people think this is being caused by trans rights. There are two big differences there. 1) The original KKK was an organization, whereas Antifa was always a loose movement with no central leadership. In the KKK, you wouldn't get kicked out for terrorism. With Antifa, since it's a movement, we can't exactly kick out the few bad seeds. 2) All of the KKK groups today were founded on the ideology of the original KKK, which was about using terrorism to create a white Protestant theocracy. So while technically it's possible for a modern KKK group to be against violence, the reason they adopted the name and imagery is because they believe in at least most of the original group's ideology. Whereas Antifa was founded on the idea of deplatforming public promotion of fascism and nazism.
