This is exactly the kind of report we have been getting by the mainstream media for the last ten years whenever the subject of police and blacks comes up. The raw statistic that police use of force is much higher for Black men then others is used but not even a suggestion that the reason is there is a much higher percentage of violent criminals among the black population than the white population. Police go to question a guy who looks like another black guy wanted for murder. Instead of cooperating, the guy runs. Police have to chase him down and tase him as he struggles. And now we get the repetition of the whining complaints from the usual suspects about how it's all because of systemic racism and oh, the poor black people so afraid of police and all that garbage. I understand your confusion when someone relies on logic and principles. Let me attempt to explain it to you. The war Israel is making on Hamas is designed to destroy Hamas' ability to inflict murderous attacks upon its people. It's unfortunate that when you make war on an armed group with tens of thousands of fighters with an immense tunnel system to hide and move around in a lot of civilians will die, too, but largely unavoidable. That is not, however the goal. When Hamas attacked Israel, they had no military objective. Their objective was to murder every Jew they could get their hands on - though they first stopped to rape the younger women and commit torture on them and on children. Had they not been stopped, they would have continued to slaughter every single man, woman and child they came upon. That is what genocide is all about, Charley Brown. This is all just babbling and sputter. They haven't relocated anyone, in no small measure because no one else will take these unpleasant people.

Worked out well for them, did it? Perhaps a little less brutal rebellion might have won them less hatred and insistence on reparations.

You are presuming that the minister was incorrect. If she was, in fact, correct, then successive administrations have simply been following in the path Mulroney forged by using immigration as a recruitment tool, as well as to curry favour among ethnic groups here. I might point out that the economists of the day, when consulted by Mulroney, would not agree that his big immigration increases would have any positive impact on the economy, aside from expanding the numbers in it. They did say, though, that effects, positive or negative, depend on the mix of immigrants.

Decades of terrorism have resulted in this man clinging to power for an extended period of time. Hopefully, his failures and incompetence will disprove his claims that he is the only man who can protect Israel and he'll soon be gone. Most would vote for Hamas even today. Gee. maybe it's the fact that there are far and away more Muslims spread out around the world than there are Jews. In countries that refused to allow large numbers of Muslims to settle, like Eastern Europe, there are few such demonstrations. Maybe it's because much of the mainstream media have put the deaths of Palestinian civilians on their front pages for six straight months now. I know that every time I open the BBC site this will be front and center. Wiping out Hamas and taking away its control of Gaza is the only way the Israelis can be reasonably assured there won't be another mass assault and slaughter like Oct 7. You have another solution? As for genocide, that accusation borders on antisemitism itself. You know what genocide is? That's where you deliberately murder every man, woman and child of a group you despise. We saw that on Oct 7. If Israel wanted to wipe out all the Palestinians they'd already be dead.

No. This started with Brian Mulroney, who tripled immigration because his immigration minister convinced him and cabinet that the new immigrants would become loyal party supporters once they could vote. Chretien took that lesson to heart. Both the Mulroney and Chretien government spouted reams of unsupported statements about how wonderful immigration was for Canada and the media bought it. To the extent it became impossible to even suggest that immigration be cut back. After all, since immigration as an unparalleled good, anyone suggesting it be lowered could only be doing so out of racism and xenophobia. So Harper never tried to, despite the wishes of Conservative voters. He was too afraid of being accused of racism and xenophia. And then came Trudeau, who doubled down on it all to the extent we won't recognize this country if we don't quickly get immigration back to levels where we can integrate newcomers.

The vote wasn't about territory or principle. It was about Muslim votes in Canada outnumbering Jewish votes. Nothing more, nothing less. Hey, Jewish community, you starting to feel a little regret about your full-throated support for mass immigration over the last fifty years?

The Jews were open to a two-state solution and living peacefully among the Arabs. The Palestinians have repeatedly demonstrated they are not. It is virtually certain that an independent Palestine would become a mini-Iran, and would immediately load up on heavy weapons preparatory to a full-scale attack on Israel. Or, well, to make them seem cheaper by spreading the cost around. Including to people who can't afford to buy a house! Lenders originate mortgages, pool them, then sell the pools as mortgage backed securities (MBS) to the government. To fund the purchase, the government sells CMBs to investors to acquire funds. The cash flow from the MBS is then used to pay investors that bought the CMBs. In short, CMBs are state-backed securities to fund mortgage financing in Canada. Starting this year, Canada doesn’t want to just sell and guarantee CMBs. In the 2023 Fall Economic Statement, they announced they’ll also become the buyer. They’ll purchase half of the 5- and 10-year CMBs, up to $30 billion. The government is essentially borrowing money to buy the investments they guarantee, with bonds they also guarantee. Nope. I believe in national healthcare. I believe there are a lot of things government should do. On some issues I'm further left than you are, though with more of an authoritarian bent on things like forcing drug addicts into treatment. There would be no homeless, if I was in charge. The addicts would be in treatment. The crazies would be locked up - as would the criminals, and there'd be small, simple, spartanly furnished rooms for all homeless.

This is a lifelong criminal with 160 offenses who killed a woman during a home invasion. Are you going to seriously tell me you think seven years is an acceptable punishment? Especially knowing he'll be paroled in two? Actually, only four left to serve, which means he's probably already eligible for parole! He might be back on the street already!

If the victim had been a native, or black or some other protected group you actually care about, and the scum who killed her had been white, you'd have been raging!
