  1. Incorrect. When I went to work for the public service after my Military career, I had a choice to swear to the Queen or to Canada. I chose Canada. You can play your game all you want but the fact is, the PM runs this country and the ministers serve as his/her pleasure, not the Kings. The old allegiance to the monarchy is an old formality with no value or authority.
  2. I too have medical reasons for getting COVID vaccination. Yes, everyone should have a choice but it is for government to make total population decisions. To make decisions best for the entire public health and safety. As for correcting issues found as a result of a world wide pandemic, I do not think we have resolved many but I think the lessons learned have resulted in changes and/or upcoming changes. Lets be a bit more specific, there is no "government" that can make all the changes. There are many levels of governments that need to cooperate to make the change to the issues. That, as we have seen, is becoming more and more difficult as it is easier for one level of government to blame another and nothing gets done.
  3. If any of the above occurred, Canada would have lost a war and the Canadian Military would be controlled by the ruling party. Incorrect, the MND does report to the Government and the CDS also reports to the MND.
  4. Absolutely not but, you cannot deny the fact the indigenous(formerly Indians, formerly natives and whatever else they decided they wanted to be called) have not been favoured in the past 50+ years? We called the NDHQ building (101 Col By), Disneyland on the Rideau. Unfortunately it was and is home to the DND which is not Military. I hope that the February debacle did not bring "out everyone's true colors.". I think it provided a platform for many but by no means all. As we know, the majority of Canadians did not agree with the protest , the methods and even the sentiment. The accusation of uncaxxed being jailed or sent top camps was as rhetorical as those on this forum that vehemently defended the anti vaxxed. Lots of BS talk on both extremest sides. I very much agree that it could have become very much worse, had the Military been called in it could have become Oka II. I think it is pretty well all over except for bad feelings amongst some. I think the commission report will be critical of both sides and that will just about be it. Oh and, I sure hope that there will be no more restrictions but, what if 8th or 9th wave happens due to a further mutated SARS-CoV-2 COVID virus? What action do you recommend should be taken?
  5. Yeah, I know the Canadian women infanteers... Oh wait, there ain't any LOL ((or hardly any). For sure you would not be amongst them LOL I think you would have difficulty having dougie ion your side if he was still in uniform. Oh and "face of totalitarianism"??? Seriously? You are more and more deranged in each post. Do you, in any way, actually think that the Canadian Military would defy the government and have a coup d'etat? In Canada?? Even dougie would not do that.
  6. Yup I said that and stand by that. Are you doing the shooting?? I also know we are not Iran or any other dictatorship or whatever in your imagination. You do make the stupidest analogies LOL
  7. Yup, that makes no sense whatsoever. Who is going to do the shooting, you?? Give your head a shake.
  8. You know as well as I do that indigenous can do and say anything they want without consequences. ☹️ Just to defend my city. I live here, as do over 1 million others. We are primarily citizens, just like you are of your city or community. To say "it's Ottawa after all" is insulting to all it's citizens. There were many Ottawans that were in agreement with the convoy principals at first. It diminished when it became more than anti vaxx and started to become anti government and some freedom issue. Anyway, Ottawa is far more then the few square blocks that is parliament. We are families, parents, kids, and the same as any other city in Canada.
  9. You don't seem to realize what power and authority the Emergency Measures Act has. There is very little chance I will ever put myself in a position of being anti government enough for the EMA to be used on me so, that is moot. So, by that alone, I am very much intelligent in that way. I find it humorous that so many on this forum (including you) are so enraged and so apoplectic about the convoy debacle yet never set foot in Ottawa and I suspect did not participate in any of the protests (none of you ever said anything to indicate you did). Just keyboard warriors, bellowing displeasure from your little spaces .
  10. Look, I am not arguing for or against, just clarifying. What would I do? Well, I do not think I would put myself in a position for defying government. I do not think all those that had accounts frozen were charged. What about the ones that spent time in jail, months in jail? I know it can be difficult but I was only emphasizing that 210 accounts were frozen as opposed to insinuating there were thousands and/or everyone that took part in the action has d accounts frozen as some forks were alluding to. The purpose of the inquiry is not to punish, it is to determine the necessity, actions and results. It is to determine the "circumstances that led to the declaration being issued and the measures taken for dealing with the emergency." There are no real "results" per se, it is an inquiry, who, what, when, where and, why.
  11. 210 accounts were not "seized" but "frozen" by the banks using names provided by the RCMP. I realize the line between "seized" and "frozen" is fine, but it is a line. Seizure normally implies criminality and court action to recover. The accounts were frozen several days after the EMA was enacted on 15 Feb. Accounts were released on 22 Feb. https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2022/02/23/canada-begins-to-release-frozen-bank-accounts-of-freedom-convoy-protestors/?sh=1810070d6364 For sure it got out of hand on all sides. The report, as opposed to outcome, will be interesting as it is not there to make judgment or a witch hunt. No one will be charged. It gives every side an opportunity to vent and have their displeasure recognized. For sure, it will be forgotten by election time. Just as Lavllin and WE and Aga Kahn vacations and black face and other multitude scandals were. The inquiry is mandated so, it must be held.
  12. Says you and you know what that is worth. (does not need an accountant for so little LOL) BTW, who is this person?? That jeopardizes his 13 children? He is the sick person
  13. Man, you are getting more and more paranoid each time you post. The apartment burning issue was reporting problem. It was debunked the same or next day.
  14. Yes the court told them to stop and remove the blockade. "Protesters are still occupying a main crossing at Canada's border with the United States, despite a court ruling ordering them to leave. The injunction came into effect at 19:00 local time (midnight GMT) on Friday to end days of protests." "Following the court order, Windsor Police put out a statement to "make demonstrators clearly aware that it is a criminal offence" to block the border crossing. The police added that a criminal conviction could lead to the seizure of vehicles and the inability to enter the US. " https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-60356461
  15. So, who is this guy?? Never heard of him. And if he was doing the accounting, he was part of the team. I think you made that up, like so much of the stuff you post. Take it out on a 5 year old??? Who is that? If you do something stupid and has consequences, it is you that is stupid, not the children or the cops. Democrats targeting lawyers? What BS is that??
  16. You and your "coerced vaccinations" and freezing of bank accounts. LOL 253 accounts out of how many participants??? And if a father of 13 was going to be one of the leaders, he was more into himself than the 13 kids and his kids suffered the consequences of his actions. The accounts were unfrozen very quickly anyway. Where did you get the father of 13 info anyway??
  17. Who is "they"? Harper made Duffy a senator. Lavalin and WE may not have been in the debates but they sure were used by oppositions. No one forgot about them and they were talked about. Justin still won the elections. The G7 debacle was under Harper rule. Regardless, all irrelevant to this EMA hearing.
  18. You completely ignored what I said so, I ignore you. The debacle went on for 15 days before federal action was taken. Once it was, the debacle was ended in 2 days. The G7 demonstrations were 2 days and heavily broken up by the OPP. Basically, I do not and could not care less about the past. Trying to convince me to accept anything you say is a monumental waste of time. Your opinion on this subject is worth absolutely nothing to me. Waste your time on someone else.
  19. Yes and?? All the scandals were brought up over and over and it seems to me the Canadian public liked him enough to vote him back in??
  20. I cannot agree that the "government" exhausted other means becasue the "government, meaning the feds, had no jurisdiction. It was all local or provincial. The federal government enacted the EMA and it then gave wider authority to local and provincial policing. I am not a pro EMA and am very interested in all the testimonies. I hope there will be real discussions and not just a bunch of representatives going up and complaining.
  21. I think that the Chief of Defence Staff is part of the process but no, I do not think the Military is "checked". They are told after the decision has been made by senior ministers. The CDS is not a cabinet minister, he is just an employee The chain of command is longer than you think.
  22. Choudry is wrong. When the emergency measures act was deployed, it is required to be reviewed, by law. The questions and answers are going to be fun to hear.
  23. You need to understand, the Military will do and can do nothing unless told to do so by government. They cannot act on their own.
  24. The Military is not a police force. It does not defend or uphold the constitution. The allegiance is to the Crown (now the King), meaning to the government and to do what the government tasks them to do, in Canada or around the world.
  25. Not sure what you may think "optimal" would be in the case of the military, any military. The Military is subservient to government. They do as the government tasks them.
