  1. I lived in Alberta for 10 years. Albertans are like Quebecers. Always whining and it is all someone elses fault that they are in the position they are in.
  2. Hey, you are preaching to the converted. The Canadian senate is and has been a "reward" post for political buddies. A political gravy train for all parties. A senator must serve 6 years for a pension by the way. The Canadian senate, a requirement that ties to the monarchy (the commons and the house of lords crap).
  3. OK, pay for all the services you got and then you get the rest LOL
  4. Then f off LOL Your repetitiveness is gone rancid a long time ago.
  5. Logical to ignore facts? Typical. There is a big difference between not caring about the past and not knowing it. I am very cognizant of the past and its value. i am also very cognizant of past events that are a spitball in a lake, like the trucker debacle and not worth anything.
  6. I am not too young. What I remember and know, is that Mike Duffy lived in Ottawa for over 30 years and in order to be a senator from PEI he had to get property there. So he bought a cabin. He still lived in Ottawa yet claimed he lived in PEI and got more money. There were several others as well and they got off too. Mac Harb and I cannot remember the other ones. The whole thing was a scam and it would have done too much damage to the senate to prosecute them. They all should have been punished.
  7. I do not understand your comment. You questioned a poll about monarchy. You then asked who would be in power. I said same as now, whatever is in the constitution. The monarchy is only a figurehead with no constitutional authority. The monarchy is only a ceremonial and historical position. Getting rid of the monarchy has nothing to do with who we democratically vote for or to lead us. What do you think the monarchy in Canada is?? Some sort of political patriarch or matriarch? The monarchy is just a homage to our past with no authority.
  8. Whatever powers were in the constitution. Such as the powers they have now.
  9. There was never any barring from public spaces. There were masking requirements and provincially mandated lock downs but there were certainly no barring from public spaces. The federal and mostly provincial governments made decisions on public health and safety. Decisions to protect all, not just a select few. The consequences of not getting vaccinated were those imposed by employers. I do believe that stocks of PPE were increased and certain medical devices were procured and distributed. Again, much of that is in provincial jurisdiction and local hospital issues. They did approve vaccines. The manufacture of vaccines is a commercial company issue. The US had very limited COVID vaccine manufacturing as did many countries in the world. Not sure what you are asking of LTC facilities. The deaths were tracked and reported, at least in Ontario they were. Also, am not sure what you mean by "Some one needs to put on the big boy pants, and make decisions or face consequences,". Make what decisions? Face what consequences for what?
  10. "Only 26% want to continue as a monarchy for generations to come." Thinking of Canada’s constitution, would you prefer that Canada remains a monarchy or has an elected head of state? Monarchy - 21% Elected head of state (Republic) - 49% No preference - 31% "Only 21% of Canadians say that, thinking of Canada’s constitution, they would prefer for the country to remain a monarchy," https://www.canadian-republic.ca/polls
  11. Check the edits I just made. And if you think I really care if I am popular here, you are truly whacked LOL I do not feel threatened at all, especially from you. LOL
  12. Those are not issues for a GG. She is 100% apolitical. She has nothing to do with the politics, laws or constitution of the country. She is a monarchy figurehead. You don't know anything about me. I just played devils advocate to your support and seemingly have won as you and some of your ilk are so pissed at me it is comical.
  13. I present links. Check them out if you are in doubt. Seriously? making threats just because you are called out for spouting lies?? LOL You are correct, since I retired from the military, I no longer have to abide with my Military oath and will never be loyal to the crown as most Canadians will not either. The crown is for UK people, not canadians On;ly fools on this forum \
  14. That is not what you said. You said "Who's were actually frozen and why."
  15. No problem spinning tunes. I just don't like spinning reality. The truth is the most important part of any discussion.
  16. Lucki is for sure a lame duck commissioner but the GG? What are you alleging? What has the GG done to convince you that she is in the pocket of the PM?
  17. This is not about Canadians or politicians or RCMP. It is about your use of opinion insinuating fact. And yes, many politicians have been investigated and charged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Canadian_politicians_convicted_of_crimes Just providing facts to your "opinions".
  18. I think who's accounts were frozen will and should be kept private. Imagine the effects on the people should if their names were made public?? The pro people would use them as martyrs, the con people could use them as scapegoats. The public at large could and may use them as whipping posts. Employers may find them unreliable and/or a liability?
  19. I got ya. You comments are based on opinion and not facts even though you assert they are real. Speaking from heart and sleeve do not in any way make anything you say as correct. I will continue to challenge your comments if they are incorrect and not factual. Yes, it is an internet forum to share ideas and thoughts but to assert or insinuate falsehoods is deceitful.
  20. Incorrect. The PM can direct the RCMP to investigate. The PM can only direct RCMP as the other police forces are under the direction of other jurisdictions. Wrong again The RCMP commisioner wields the authority that has been allotted to him under the constitution and laws of Canada, not any monarchy. Once again, your comments must be opinion as they are incorrect. Yes, Brenda Lucki seems to be an ineffective commissioner.
  21. So, you are just making things up and yours is all opinion and not fact. Good to know.
  22. Incorrect, the government has not breached any constitutional rights. If you have proof or doing so, please provide. Please provide proof of overreach. Not opinion but evidence and proof. Secession? Of what? When? American? How so?
  23. I am as far away form a monarchist as you can get. I fully understand the ceremonial and figurehead role of the monarchy and it's historical significance but, it serves no valid purpose today. Yup, the PM and GG can be wingnuts but, that is the fault of all Canadians and the PM (in the case of the GG). I think our constitutional rights are quite strong, application of them is what is weak. As far as Dougie is concerned, I just think he is too far out there and far too scattered with a once every while a good point.
  24. The "king" is a figurehead, not more. The government is parliament and vice versa. The government is bound to comply with the constitution of Canada.
  25. No government is a country. A government rules and controls the country. Says the former soldier that wielded a sword. LOL Hopefully there are not ten people that re foolish enough to be influenced by your rhetoric and banter. Completely wrong. "Canada is a federation and not a confederate association of sovereign states, which is what "confederation" means in contemporary political theory. It is nevertheless often considered to be among the world's more decentralized federations." The only thing the treaty of Paris did was guaranty French Canadians limited freedom of worship. Provisions were made for exchange of prisoners; French Canadians were given 18 months to emigrate if they wished; and government archives were preserved. No laws. LOL Oh in 1710, War of the Spanish Succession, was a struggle to determine whether the vast possessions of the Spanish Empire should pass to the House of Bourbon or to the House of Habsburg, You need to research before you blow your horn LOL
