  1. Yup, that is how we do things in Canada, hope the other guy is better
  2. OK, you are entitled. I know many people some for and some against. Thing is, we purposely do not discuss politics and I do not analyze my friends so, I cannot answer your question.
  3. My point? I never said any group was more tolerant. I questioned why one gets more than another. What goes on in Belgium is irrelevant to here. As an aside, I was in Antwerp during Pride Week a few years ago and it was a rip roaring festival. Very tolerant. I suspect your example was a one group vs another for whatever reasons.
  4. Point? The topic is an elementary school in London Ontario.
  5. Ha Ha Ha You are being watched... and not by me LOL Suck it up buttercup, your paranoia is leaking out your tail hole Ha Ha HA.
  6. You cannot say whether the parents were politically left or right. That is an assumption made through your politically driven mindset. You are saying left wing liberals are pro gay? Again, an assumption. People are people and their personal convictions are not driven by political leanings, they are driven by their own personal perceptions and feelings. As for police being banned form schools, that is also a social/cultural issue. The vocal folks feel the police are vindictive and targeting certain social sectors and think their kids are afraid.
  7. The schools and students in question are in elementary schools. I suggest to you the parents kept kids out of school. I suggest to you that ad it been high schools, the older students are far more "tolerant" and would have supported their queer friends. Here in Ottawa we have a very large issue with this sort of thing. Non gender bathrooms etc. One school bard in Ottawa is disallowing police officers in uniform from entering the schools unless on official business. Society and culture has overtaken common sense (on the left and right :)). Response to your edit: Are you implying the conservative right are anti gay?
  8. I see it not being challenged in any way equally, by both political sides.
  9. Can shove it out but can't take it eh? Typical. Boo Hoo, even place a down vote on it Boo Hoo . When you no longer have a current event soapbox, ya gotta dive into the historical comic book box ?
  10. No, it is a societal and cultural thing, not a political left wing right wing thing.
  11. If inclusivity is what you want Michael, then include all the other groups. I fully understand your defence of lqbtqxyz+++ but, for one for all. Muslim, arab, catholic, jew, Qanon, Proud Boys, Hells Angels and on and on and on. Singling out one group just makes them a target.
  12. The feds are the ones that set the rules and theoretical punishments. Question still is, what would the fed do? My response is nothing, they cannot do anything.
  13. Don't see any flags of other groups or full school and school board recognition of other groups or peoples. On the left? Why insist on making this a left right thing??? I know of no schools that "celebrated" or even to any extent recognized ramadan or eid or jewish religious events. I coach at a high school
  14. I agree but, including just one group because it is currently politically visible or a popular thing to do at the time is not good. I truly do not understand "The west was conceived as a pluralistic confederation," when discussing this issue. Flaunting or wanting someone else to flaunt your orientation is plain wrong. You are just asking for criticism.
  15. Convicted prisoners were released on day parole and parole during Harpers tenure as well. Nothing new, nothing unprecedented
  16. And what are the feds (regardless who is in power) going to do??? Answer - nothing.
  17. I think schools and school boards favouring or recognizing one group over another is principally, ethically and monumentally wrong. Why just one? Why this one?
  18. Get over it dude. 270 convoy organizers, truckers and leaders had accounts frozen and almost all were released within a week. Very targeted and only those in the Ottawa trucker debacle were affected. Crypto was "supposed to" and it failed. Became the underground crime and war mongering exchange. LOL No matter how hard you try, you cannot hide. "They" will find you and know what you do. That is fact, not your fantasy. Whine and cry and blame everyone for your paranoia but, yours (and taxme) is a self induced wound. Time to move on dude LOL
  19. Once again, chuckle. I do not "accept" government oversight but I am also not stupid enough to know that you are always visible, whether you pay cash or not. Geez, you even have a tracking function on your cell phone. What I comprehend is you are naive thinking you can function under the radar, government or companies or banks or corporations or phone companies or even your friends. You are being watched and tracked. LOL Listening to and being appreciated by people like zeitgiest only furthers your paranoia. Those folks live in the past and cannot get with the times. LOL
  20. What law and or constitutional or charter rights were broken with that ruling? Feelings have no place or function or purpose in the laws of any country. Regardless of who is appointed, there are reams of legal proceedings that are are precedence. Your assumptions that they can just decide the way they feel that day is wrong.
  21. So, you bit at a very sarcastic post....and with no real retort.
  22. I suspect your take is just because you have a bone to pick. About what specifically, I am not sure. I find your statement that "Often with no legal sense behind it." is just an opinion. I am quite sure that you cannot cite one thing the Supreme Court has determined that is not legal and has not been determined without legal precedence. The Supreme Court is not just the 9 sitting judges. There are hundreds of lawyers and clerks that come to the legal conclusions before any ruling or presentation. Yes, there are distentions but the dissensions are not on the general ruling but on specific language within the ruling.
  23. Over all, political partisanship aside, Canada is a much better place to day than before. Canada just gets better. People form all over the world want to come here. Of course, those that are politically dissatisfied want to leave. OK, leave...oh wait, you are still here? LOl I think that when any party is on top for a many years, they all become complacent and abuse their position. The leader becomes, in their minds, impervious and they rule as they want. This is not just todays liberals and Trudeau but Harper, Chretien, Mulroney and Trudeau Sr also became drunk with power and did what they wanted.. As much as American politics has become a sh*t show (ours seems to be following) the best part of there is they can only be in charge for 2 terms. I think 8 years is plenty and we should adopt that too.
