Sorry, I try very hard to be civiI. I so do want to be on your side but you sure make it difficult. Take my comment for what it is intended as , not through a haze you may be in. Your obsession with my starting a post is getting very old. I do not need to start a post, others, like you, do it very well and very quickly and I participate. I do not need to post about pancake flipping or some other innocuous headline. Anyway, enjoy your verbal fracas with cdnfux, he picks em to get ya.

You are good at chastising others for getting personal and into bun fights and here you are..... getting personal and into a bun fight. -
My response was to your statement "western powers do not have the metal capacity nor will to wage war over long periods of time". My point was and is that 13 and 20 years at war is "a long period of time" as you seem to agree with. As for pulling out in the middle of the night, I think the pull outs were talked about and quite anticipated. What meant by intense is that the US and Canada et al were not anticipating the determination of the enemy. That they would keep fighting even though things were so against them and as you say "As for fighting an enemy that was determined, more than willing give their lives for an certain outcome sure".

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

Absurd? It is all over the news. I linked the governments announcement. I could not care less about electric cars or their range or cost, and that is not what my post was about. I said Ontario is at the edge of it's production. there could be brownouts and outages because of the demand. Proposing we buy more electric vehicles and build more housing is straining the system even more and may not handle it. https://thenarwhal.ca/ontario-electricity-grid/ https://www.thestar.com/politics/provincial/2023/06/05/if-the-hot-weather-keeps-up-ontario-is-at-risk-of-power-shortages-this-summer-report-finds.html -
I am afraid you have lost me. I too know of people getting the income supplement from the pandemic cash. It was given too freely and now some folks feel entitled to free money. It does have to stop. I have a friend working for CRA and he has been seconded to the fraud department and they are going after those folks that have "cheated" They even caught CRA employees and fired them and made them pay back. They are also going after pensioners that got the money. He said many thousands of pensioners are in for a shock. Anyway you lost me with your mention of AI? Are you saying artificial intelligence is somehow playing a role??

With all the heat, brown outs and power outages are happening because people are putting their air conditioners on. We are on the limit of electricity production now. And all levels of government want us to buy electric vehicles and of course, the public outcry for more electricity using housing. We need more juice. Thankfully the Ontario (at least) government says they will build another nuke plant https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/ontario-new-nuclear-build-1.6897701 I suspect the other provinces are in the same situaltion with their electricity grid Now, to see if it will happen. Will the "greenies" allow this? The ones that want to do away with fossil fuel use will now have to allow nuclear development. -
I responded to your comments."if you don't contribute and rely on this kind of stuff, it's akin to being a freeloader. " as well as the comments leading up to that statement. I do have very strong opinions on indigenous generational welfare. In my career, I have had opportunity to be on many indigenous "communities" (formerly called reserves). I have seen what goes on. I fully agreed with workfare (Ontario Works) when it was presented and implemented. Thing is, it embarrassed some and it was quickly deemed politically incorrect. I agree, and have always espoused, you earn what you have. If you do not earn, you deserve what predicament you are in. I also am a huge opponent of the Guaranteed Wage movement. Do not work, get nothing. With a few exceptions, no one is owed anything.

It certainly does, in some peoples minds.... like the ones using the term. And, by definition pixie dust is "a substance or influence with an apparently magical effect that brings great success or luck." and seems to have been working for Trudeau for the past 12 years LOL It is important for PP to steal some out of Trudeau's bag LOL

So, lets take the indigenous. Every indigenous person living in remote (or off the grid) communities throughout this country are, in your words, freeloaders. They have no industry, no work in those communities except the make work projects the feds have made for them. Workfare has been tried but it was determined to be demeaning to the dignity of the individual and was cancelled.
