The Disparity of CEO's and Workers salaries
ExFlyer replied to Queenmandy85's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nothing snotty at all. You whine and complain about CEO wages then when you don't have a valid argument for you take on it, you resort to "concerned at how much need there is in the world and how to address it ". There is inequity and has been inequity from the beginning of man. Some are leaders and some are followers and the followers always seem to whine the most but when told to or asked to do more to better their position, they resort to some righteous attempt at making it someone else's fault. -

Clearly not CEO level though so, you are whining about them again. Oh, so now you are concerned about world poverty? Please stop, what others make here, there, anywhere is none of your concern since you had your best year ever and are going to get more.. Kinda hypocritical eh? LOL -

Not to get into a word definition battle with you, my point is, with all things there is a price to pay and that price is determined by who wants it most. Some sports. Clearly not baseball LOL Salary caps are for team owners benefits, not players or fans or even market value. Besides, businesses are not team sports -
The Disparity of CEO's and Workers salaries
ExFlyer replied to Queenmandy85's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The topic was salary and yes, the market decides what a job is worth. To be honest, I cannot think of a better way. Give stuff away below what it costs to make? The entire basis of companies is to make profit. Otherwise it is communism or socialism. Even in communist or socialist counties, the higher ups all are the wealthiest with the most of everything. When it comes to salary, especially in the CEO or equivalent areas, companies have to bid to get the folks they want to run their company so, market seems the only way to get them. -

So what? The market, be it products or personnel, decides what it is worth. -

They are taxed too and the people that pay to go to the games and buy the swag still willingly pay. "the top 20 per cent of income-earning households already pay more in total income taxes than the other 80 per cent do."" "https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/top-20-of-income-earners-fund-majority-of-ottawas-income-tax-revenue-report" Reminds me of a story I saw. About another person that seemed to think others have more than them. "A guy looked at my Corvette the other day and said, "I wonder how many people could have been fed for the money that sports car cost? I replied I'm not sure; it fed a lot of families in Bowling Green, Kentucky who built it, it fed the people who make the tires, it fed the people who made the components that went into it, it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires, it fed people in at Caterpillar who make the trucks that haul the copper ore. It fed the trucking people who hauled it from the plant to the dealer and fed the people working at the dealership and their families. BUT,... I have to admit, I guess I really don’t know how many people it fed. That is the difference between capitalism and the welfare mentality. When you buy something, you put money in people’s pockets and give them dignity for their skills. When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self-worth. Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value. Socialism is having the government take your money against your will and give it to someone else for doing nothing." You are just bitter because you are a nobody and cannot move up the pay scale ladder LOL Boo Hoo, sucks to be you. Little people always whine about their lot in life LOL -

The shareholders and company profits pay the CEO's.....as they do the workers too. I am pretty sure the CEO's pay lots of taxes. I think I remember reading about a "study shows the top 20 per cent of income-earning households already pay more in total income taxes than the other 80 per cent do." https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/top-20-of-income-earners-fund-majority-of-ottawas-income-tax-revenue-report I can never get over why people are so outraged what someone else makes...... normally without knowing what they doiand why or how they got there. -

The CEO's get head hunted and recruited and bid upon for their services and are offered money or negotiate for their compensation.. Workers do not. If people or companies want you, you have choices. if you are just a worker with no or little ambition ...you don 't. You are what you are. -
The industry minister is a dolt. As are all of Justin's cabinet. Yes, the grocery chains make money, that is what they are supposed to do for their shareholders. As they said though, it is their ancillary businesses that are making all the money. Shoppers, Joe Fresh, Valu mart, Zehrs, Jean Coutu, Brunet, Lawton Drugs , BoniChoix and on and on that are not grocery stores. Of course, Walmart and Costco sell much more than groceries too. Bottom line is that industry minister can crap on grocery stores but we, the people, are the ones buying form the subsidiaries of the chains and increasing their profits. Just another Trudeau tactic tryign to deflect his responsibility for poor economic policy.

Canada, NATO, de Gaulle, Poilievre
ExFlyer replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I guess young people are not aware or the threat Putin poses?? France still participates in NATO "Many people think that French President Charles de Gaulle took his country out of NATO in 1966 when he demanded that all military headquarters and installations not under French command depart French territory by 1967, but this is not the case. What France did was withdraw from NATO's integrated military command structure – thus French personnel were no longer assigned to the staffs of headquarters in the NATO command structure and French units were not placed under NATO command, but France remained an active member of the Alliance itself and French personnel continued to serve at NATO's political headquarters in Brussels as well as in liaison offices at the other military headquarters. Sarcasm, well done. I am sorry your regiment did not make the effort or take the medal seriously. I feel that your leadership failed and did all your recipients wrong. If you felt no disrespect by not wearing the award and felt you did not earn it then that is a complete failure of the leadership to make it worthwhile. Too bad. Our leadership made awarding the medal to personnel as important as the annual PER that is used for promotion.

I get the sarcasm. Santa is a fictional character though. If he was called a political commentator as opposed to cartoonist would that smooth your hackles? Because that is what he is. He makes his political commentary visually rather than orally or written. He is internationally renowned. Lots of TV and radio personalities have been inducted among other common everyday Canadians that have contributed to their communities.. That is what they do. Point of the Order Of Canada is to recognize Canadians that have brought Canada recognition. "As of January 2023, 8,216 people have been appointed to the Order, including scientists, musicians, politicians, artists, athletes, business people, film stars and benefactors." Do we want to pick apart each one for whatever reason? Who are we (you and me) to judge the competency or deserving attributes? I too got the Queens Jubilee Medal. The selection process for receiving it was quite stringent (as my Colonel informed me). There were XXX allotted to different segments of Canadian society (RCMP, Military and civilian groups) and each group decided who they were awarded. If you decided not to wear it after it was presented to you, I think you insulted your superiors that chose you as a recipient by their section criteria.

Geez, you can get torpedoed here for not agreeing LOL As for who gets it "All individuals who make outstanding contributions to their field of endeavour are eligible for appointment to the Order of Canada. Why not nominate someone today? Anyone can do it, and there is no deadline for submissions." So, someone has to nominate... has that even been done for Cherry??? As for the cartoonist, he is internationally reknown so, his contributions are not just a talking head between periods on a tv show.

Show me a "hate filled" cartoon that he got published... besides, what is published is the newspaper or magazine editorial staff purview. What if, what if?? There are no "what if's, just what has been published world wide. He is world renowned and his work is "BEYOND the norn" as all the accolades and awards he has received. Political editorial cartoonists are satirists of all things political and just because he picked on your party does not make him ineligible for Order of Canada
-
Are assuming the Order of Canada is being given for one cartoon?? If so, you have your bible up your a$$. He is an internationally renowned cartoonist and has been for many decades. He is published in all newspapers and magazines all over the English speaking world. Political editorial cartoonists are satirists of all things political and just because he picked on your party does not make him ineligible for Order of Canada. He bashes everyone.

There you are again LOL In case it did not get it through your minuscule brain, here it is again "Bottom line, arguing with me or trying to make me see your way is a huge waste of your effort. I care nothing about either side but, will wind you up as often as you keep coming at me LOL " I don't argue...I just shove the key up your butt and wind it up. That has gotta hurt and you still come back for more LOL -

Cry me a river. So, collateral deaths of citizens and women and kids is OK by you. Where tactical strikes could be done but bombing and rockets is easier so it's OK by you. What a jerk!! Bottom line, arguing with me or trying to make me see your way is a huge waste of your effort. I care nothing about either side but, will wind you up as often as you keep coming at me LOL -

I don't enjoy killing by anyone. You are an absolute arse to even say such an 1diotic thing. I am very sure you never watched anyone being raped and are blowing smoke out of your righteous arse. I suspect. you are OK with innocent civilians and women and children dying in the bombings of hospitals schools and refugee camps. It's OK by one side but not the other?? You are such a simple minded individual , you have no credibility. -

That I agree with. As to why they are still governing well, I would think it is pretty difficult to have any type of elections while this is going on. I don't think anyone is governing the palatinates right now. -
Ban Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations
ExFlyer replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I do not pick and choose. I stated facts. Do you dispute them? Yes Hamas started it but they did not continue for 2 1/2 months after like the Israelis are. Fact is, Israelis are responsible for civilian deaths. They bomb indiscriminately at hospitals, schools, refugee camps. They have the equipment and manpower to do selective and precise attacks but they rather send bombs and rockets. There are no "good guys" in this affair. Both are to blame and both are culpable. One started it but after 2 1/2 months, ya gotta wonder what is the real purpose of the continuation of one the sided Israeli hostility? Argue with someone else now. I am and have been playing devils advocate long enough. I do not like either side. -

You completely misunderstand or misinterpret. I truly do not care and I respond only when someone tags me or retorts to me like I am responding to you.. I disagree. Justin does use his military. Not launching rockets (although he does provide them to others) but he does use it to enforce his policy and processes and ideology. -

OK fine. No need to try and convince me of any of the BS going on over there. I do not care for one or the other. Yes, Justins numbers are the same as Hamas so, like I said, we all agree with Justin and what he does and says. No apples to oranges, Justin is in charge, just as hamas is in charge. In my opinion, nuke the entire area and it will solve the thousands years old problem.
