seems you have a problem in BC with your new NDP budget ??? I have been a homeowner since 1971. Nowhere that I have lived have I ever heard or has deferred property taxes till after death been discussed. And I am on fixed income. You can stop being an ass anytime. You want to discuss like a grown up, then behave like one.

Your attempt at blaming immigrants for housing price increase is incorrect. Your graph is fine but it shows a increase in students and temporary workers as non permanent (at 76% of all immigrants) and those were not the people buying houses. In [late] 2020, the pandemic triggered a surge in demand as interest rates dropped to historic lows, making borrowing cheaper and driving up home prices,” https://www.crea.ca/cafe/five-years-later-how-pandemic-trends-are-still-affecting-canadas-housing-market/

Well, if you took out a 25 or 30 year mortgage and did not anticipate changes in the mortgage rates, seems to me you were not thinking ahead. Cost of living has gone up every year for many many decades. Have no idea what you're are talking about in BC. Some people, and I did not refer to all people, should not have gotten into the bidding wars frenzy and over bid for the house. Where I am, , it was in the news, where folks were bidding $200K + over asking price at the time. Well, 5 years later...the time is up to re mortgage and the house is worth less than they bid for it. I suspect that if they were thinking, they thought the prices would substantially increase and, well, they were wrong and now they are in a dilemma. As I said in another post, I lived this when we lived in Alberta. So many homes were foreclosed as the owners just walked away. They even passed a law in Alberta to prevent "carpetbaggers" from cashing in.
-
No, it was during COVID. Price wars and over bidding was going on. Immigration was not yet a thing. Over bidding and price wars are an individual thing...not governmental. Jumping on a band wagon is an individual thing...not governmental. Trudeau never promised anything...every person making purchases and not lookign ahead is at fault.. The First-Time Home Buyer Incentive (FTHBI) came into effect on on September 2, 2019, before COVID pandemic happened. And it only lowered the down payment and allowed RRSP withdrawals. Point is, not all, and probably not many, over bidders were first time buyers.
-
That may be happening as those mortgages that people took out during the COVID bidding wars are up for renewal. Far too many people way over bid for houses and the price has declined about now they are stuck with the over priced house and the mortgage. I lived in Alberta when there was price wars and then the crash . We bough t a house that was foreclosed upon and it was $40K less then the original owner paid for it. Unfortunately, we also suffered the years of 15%+ mortgage rates.

Some if you keep blaming "liberal voters" for keeping the liberals (specifically Trudeau) in power. Thing is, there clearly were not enough Canadians believing that the conservatives or NDP or their leaders were a better option so, the liberals win...3 times with Trudeau and once with Carney. The other thing is...Carney was the one chosen by Canadians...perhaps Canadians felt it is PP that "can't be fixed or he he is the wrong man for the job...."?

Winning once???? The comment was to someone talking about the Miracle on Ice in 1980. We are not American so..why would Canadians care??
-
Anyone that gloats as much as you is a ass. Take the win and move on.

Well, when a kid is 3 or 14 he is assigned to a junior team if he is good enough. Or he/ she can go to college which seems to be an avenue. Hockey will go on but...Canada will not reign supreme anymore.
-
Huh??? You are right...it was before the "pros" were legally allowed and an American college and junior players beat the USSR Army. It was a miracle.....46 years ago LOL and as i said...yesterday's gone.
-
Yeah but...yesterday's gone

Google: "Yes, many commercial fishermen from Washington state travel to Alaska during the summer to participate in the lucrative salmon season. Alaska’s peak salmon fishing runs from May through September, with massive runs like the Bristol Bay sockeye fishery attracting transient vessels and crew for short, intense, high-volume fishing opportunities . Commercial Movement: While many Washington anglers stay for local seasons (June-October), a significant number of commercial fishermen migrate north to fish in Alaska's salmon fisheries, which are considered some of the largest in the world.

More useless babble... from a degenerate pedophile LOSER LOL LOL LOL
-
Meh. Don't you ever get tired of looking like a complete uneducated pedophile LOSER buffoon? Nothing unethical happened. You missed the last part of your google search: "Ethics Commissioner's Position: Ethics Commissioner Konrad von Finckenstein indicated he was aware of the meeting, but understood it to be a "personal visit" and not related to business, adding, "Should it have taken place or not? That is for you to decide"
-
Chuckle chuckle chuckle... I guess you are insinuating that he lied under oath to the ethics commission? LOL Justin Beber is Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Corporation. In this role, he has primary oversight of Brookfield’s corporate operations, including corporate strategy, human resources, risk management, technology, legal, compliance, and internal audit activities. He is a member of Brookfield’s Executive Committee. Give it up LOL. So...seems Carney is not the only one invested in Brookfield? https://theijf.org/article/conservative-mps-invested-in-brookfield

I never once said the PM has not met with anyone from Brookfield. Fact is that Brookfield is one of the worlds largest asset management companies in the world and the PM dealing with world wide trade would have difficulty not meeting or having conversations with people form that company. "In late 2025, testimony from the House of Commons ethics committee confirmed that senior executives from Brookfield Asset Management—a firm where Prime Minister Mark Carney formerly held a senior leadership role—met with him in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa. Here are the key details regarding the meetings and conflicts of interest based on the search results: Meeting Confirmation: Justin Beber, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Brookfield Corporation, confirmed he travelled to Ottawa in October 2025 to meet with Prime Minister Carney. Nature of the Meeting: Beber testified that the meeting was "on his own dime" and focused on concerns regarding the rise of antisemitism in Canada. He claimed the meeting did not involve discussion of Brookfield business interests."" What "seems like" to you may not be correct. " There is no public information confirming the religious or ethnic background of Justin B. Beber, the Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Corporation. While he is a senior Canadian executive based in Toronto, his personal background regarding faith is not part of his public corporate profile"

For sure it did. Threats by Trump to all countries. The bully always wins in the beginning plus...a population of consumers 10 times greater than in Canada. Because we produce little or nothing at all. We import because it is cheaper and that is what Canadians want.
-
He was not. Prove your accusation...Oh...you cannot ? LOL I provided...this is an area where you totally FAIL every time
-
We sure have a productivity crisis. Ever since we wanted our products cheaper and could not make them in Canada because our costs were too high...we got our stuff off shore and our factories and producers went broke. So, now we do not produce. This is not a political party issue...this is us..the regular Canadians that did not want to pay the price of Canadian produced products so, we bought cheaper stuff from off shore producers. We want cheap so, that is what we got.

When was he told not to meet with one of the world leading asset management companies??? Oh, never? LOL Appearance and facts and proof are very different LOL
