Is Israel about to start another Gaza carnage?
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Hi bud. You never asked me before. The information is easily found if you cared to look beyond your desperate attempt to somehow convince people that Palestinians are an extension of the Nazis to somehow discredit their plight against a brutal occupier.- 637 replies

Is Israel about to start another Gaza carnage?
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Weren't former Israeli Prime Ministers leaders of groups who collaborated with the Axis of Evil? In case you don't know, both Irgun and Lehi received weapons from Italy and they attacked the Allied forces and cut off Allied supplies lines. You think they should have also been hanged? In 1948 Albert Einstein 27 Jewish intellectuals wrote a letter to the New York Times condemning the Irgun and its activities. They also took a moment to call the former Irgun Commander, Menachem Begin, a Fascist. Link- 637 replies

Is Israel about to start another Gaza carnage?
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
It looks like some people are trying to change what really happened. How about I post the timeline again to show that Israel has had a few opportunities to follow a truce and a ceasefire but then it did not: I. TIMELINE: ISRAEL’S LATEST ESCALATION IN GAZA THURSDAY, 8 NOVEMBER Following a two-week lull in violence, Israeli soldiers invade Gaza. In the resulting exchange of gunfire with Palestinian fighters, a twelve year-old boy is killed by an Israeli bullet while he plays soccer. Shortly afterwards, Palestinian fighters blow up a tunnel along the Gaza-Israel frontier, injuring one Israeli soldier. SATURDAY, 10 NOVEMBER An anti-tank missile fired by Palestinian fighters wounds four Israeli soldiers driving in a jeep along the Israel-Gaza boundary. An Israeli artillery shell lands in a soccer field in Gaza killing two children, aged sixteen and seventeen. Later, an Israeli tank fires a shell at a tent where mourners are gathered for a funeral, killing two more civilians and wounding more than two dozen others. SUNDAY, 11 NOVEMBER One Palestinian civilian is killed and dozens more are wounded in Israeli attacks. Four Israeli civilians are also injured as a result of projectiles launched from Gaza, according to the Israeli government. During an Israeli government cabinet meeting, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz urges the government to “cut off the head of the snake… take out the leadership of Hamas in Gaza.” He also calls for a cutting off of water, food, electricity, and fuel shipments to Gaza’s 1.7 million people. MONDAY, 12 NOVEMBER Palestinian militant factions agree to a truce if Israel ends its attacks. WEDNESDAY, 14 NOVEMBER Israel breaks two days of calm by assassinating Ahmed Jabari, the head of Hamas' military wing. According to reports, at least eight other Palestinians are killed in Israeli attacks, including at least two children. Palestinian militant groups vow to respond. Link- 637 replies

Is Israel about to start another Gaza carnage?
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Back in the mid-90's when I was starting to understand and make sense of Israel's occupation of Palestinians, my mom told me that the same thing will happen to Israel's treatment of Palestinians as it did to Apartheid South Africa: It will end when the voice of the people of the world is loud enough.- 637 replies

Is Israel about to start another Gaza carnage?

There is no argument. You failed in basing your response on facts. The occupation started in 1967. Rockets started in 2001. There is always an excuse by Israel and people like you, who will jump to justify Israel's disgusting behaviour towards the Palestinians. Behind the velvet curtain lies a state built on myths and narratives, protected only by a military behemoth, billions of dollars in US assistance and a lone UN Security Council veto.- 637 replies

Read the timeline so that you may not make false and bizarre justifications for killing civilians that make you look like a German trying to justify Nazi actions 70 years ago.- 637 replies

This image is breaking my heart. I am the father of a newborn child and I am so incredibly fortunate to be here. Why do I deserve to be here while a father or a mother has to go through this. We need to stop supporting Israel's aggression and start supporting justice and human rights. Obama must accept "the will of the Arab people"
Hudson Jones replied to Merlin's topic in The Rest of the World
Good start. This a terrible generalization. It is like saying that the true aim of Christians is to turn the world into a Christian world because there are "some" Christians who devote their whole life trying to convert non-Christians into Christians. Just like in Christianity and Judiasm, Muslims also come in variety. You're passing generalization and hoping no one challenges these generalizations. Why should we care what the Egyptian people choose to do? Do you see anyone complaining about Jewish laws in Israel? I don't understand what you are trying to say. Are you excusing or trying to justify the double standard of asking other nations to not have nuclear weapons and not asking Israel to disarm because Israel won't openly admit to it? I don't understand why the terrible generalization is going unchallenged. I'm paraphrasing: Person #1: Incoherent man says: "No more Israel" Person #2: Coherent man says: "Palestinians are being treated unfairly. But I feel like, hopefully that can be adjusted in time with a balanced respect between the two nations. Palestine was there first and Israel moved in, in the 1940's and that's an unfair attack. Person #3: Jewish Man says: "I feel like Israel is not in the right in any way, shape or form. They're taking advantage of Palestinians. Us being with Israel is not a good choice for us or the world." Person #4: High strung man says: "Obama is going to force Iran and Israel to sit at a table and compromise. He's going to get Iran and Israel to talk. He's going to be that angel of peace." For some reason, you are trying to equate everyone in the video who may have wandered off the usual "I unconditionally support Israel no matter what they do" script, to Person #1, the incoherent man who says "No more Israel". This is a dishonest way of debating. Many people agree with persons #2, #3 and even the excited #4. By the way, did you know that 70% of American Jews voted for Obama? Obama has been very careful with the way he talks about Israel. He is consistent with how he speaks about them. How many times have you heard him say: "the unshakable relationship between American and Israel"? Did you know that he has given more foreign aid to Israel than any other president? I do have a bit of hope that he will be able to force Israel to negotiate honestly with the Palestinians. That he will stand firm with what majority of the world agrees with: "A Palestinian State based on the 1967 borders". I also hope that a party other than Likud and his fanatical coalition win early next year. -
Zionism, as an ideology, evolved in response to the rise of Europe's nationalism and anti-Semitism in the late 19th century, especially in Tsarist Russia, France during the Dreyfus affair, and Germany after World War 1. Similarly, Palestinian nationalism evolved in response to the presence of Zionism in Palestine, and most importantly because of the British intention to turn Palestine into a "Jewish National Home". To try to delegitimize Palestinian nationalism as something fake is dishonest, especially when in another breath, there is pumping of Israeli/Zionist nationalism. Fact remains that before and during the first Zionist migration the population of Palestine was over 90% Arab and they owned and operated over 97% of the land. As for the post above in regards to Palestinians not farming, here is information from Bernard Lewis who gives a much different account of Palestinians did: We should also take into consideration, the population of Arabs and Jews in that land:
-
It's strange that you would say that since there is ample evidence that there were permanent towns and villages all over the area with generations of Arabs living there. You and the revisionists may not want to admit this, but even the early Zionist leaders acknowledged the fact that Arabs inhabited the land. Here is Ben Gurion from 1918 quoted in Benny Morris' Righteous Victims: "Palestine is not an empty country . . . on no account must we injure the rights of the inhabitants." According to Justine McCarthy, "in 1914 Palestine had a population of 657,000 Muslim Arabs, 81,000 Christian Arabs, and 59,000 Jews (including many European Jews from the first and second Aliyah)."
-
Even if it means occupying another people's land and forcing many of them out. That's a belief that should not be supported.
-
It was the Zionist leaders who looked into places like Uganda and Argentina. So it makes perfect sense.
-
If I may: The fact that Palestine was not the first and only option, shows that the idea and continuous propaganda about the location of Israel being the 'eternal' homeland of the Jews is false.

Iran never said what you said Iran had said. This will be the last time I address your false claims.

Iranian Nuclear Threat - Real or Not?
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Here is more from the retired Mossad Chief: 'Iran far from posing existential threat' Ex-Mossad Chief Ephraim Halevy warns strike on Iran could have devastating effect for region. 'Ultra-Orthodox radicalization poses bigger threat than Ahmadinejad,' he says -
Neither has the Iranian government.

I had hoped that people would have learned from the past major war which saw plenty of rhetoric and false marketing towards a war with Iraq on the basis of possession of nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, we are again seeing people repeating the same hysterical lines offered by the war marketing machine. This despite irrefutable information which show nothing much has changed with Iran's nuclear program since 2003. Here is Seymour Hersh: The net effect has been to create “more concern.” But Robert Kelley, a retired I.A.E.A. director and nuclear engineer who previously spent more than thirty years with the Department of Energy’s nuclear-weapons program, told me that he could find very little new information in the I.A.E.A. report. He noted that hundreds of pages of material appears to come from a single source: a laptop computer, allegedly supplied to the I.A.E.A. by a Western intelligence agency, whose provenance could not be established. Those materials, and others, “were old news,” Kelley said, and known to many journalists. “I wonder why this same stuff is now considered ‘new information’ by the same reporters.” Here is more from his article: The I.A.E.A.’s report “suggests,” the A.C.A. paper said, that Iran “is working to shorten the timeframe to build the bomb once and if it makes that decision. But it remains apparent that a nuclear-armed Iran is still not imminent nor is it inevitable.” Greg Thielmann, a former State Department and Senate Intelligence Committee analyst who was one of the authors of the A.C.A. assessment, told me, “There is troubling evidence suggesting that studies are still going on, but there is nothing that indicates that Iran is really building a bomb.” He added, “Those who want to drum up support for a bombing attack on Iran sort of aggressively misrepresented the report.” The last comment explains the situation well: “There is troubling evidence suggesting that studies are still going on, but there is nothing that indicates that Iran is really building a bomb. Those who want to drum up support for a bombing attack on Iran sort of aggressively misrepresented the report.”

You are lost in translation and are not familiar enough with the Iranian regime to know that "Death to ___" is a slogan that has been repeated by hardliners since the revolution. This is not a call for genocide. He is talking about the Israeli/Zionist regime that the Iranian government does not recognize as a legitimate. The Iranian rhetoric against the Israeli regime is no different than consistent rhetoric from Israel and U.S.A who call for the end of the Iranian government and who actually possess nuclear weapons. You said "they have said that should they receive nukes, they would at first opportunity destroy Israel." Your statement is simply false and it looks like you will not admit to it.
-
You said: they have said that should they receive nukes, they would at first opportunity destroy Israel. Lets look at the links you have provided to support your claim above: Link 1 - Ahmadinejad talks about the "regime in Israel". Nothing about nuking Israel. Link 2 - Same thing. Link 3 - Same thing. Link 4 - Again, he talks about the "Zionist regime". No talk about nuking Israel. Link 5 - There is a list of comments with similar rhetoric about the israeli/zionist regime who they deem as illegitimate. Not one comment about using nuclear weapons to destroy Israel. It should be noted that we continuously see comments from the West especially from the Israeli government and leaders towards Iran, Arab countries, Arabs, Muslims and more recently a heavy and brutal language towards Iranians and the Iranian government. Time and time again, we've seen Ahmadinejad comment about removing Israeli/Zionist regime which he sees as illegitimate rulers of the land. But he has never promoted genocide of Jews, especially with a nuclear weapon. Especially since there are thousands of Jews living in Iran and the Persian history with Jews. Jews who have been saved and liberated by Persians at least a couple of times. Conclusion: Your comment is off base and you are sharing misinformation.

Canada at war with Iran
Hudson Jones replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Turkey would never attack Iran and Iran would never attack Turkey. It's ridiculous to take a quote from a 'senior military official' seriously. -
Really? This is the first time I've heard of this. Can you provide something to back up your claim?

Israel still destroying Palestinian villages

I wonder about this comment. How is land theft called security by staunch Israeli supporters? If anything, it reduces security.
