  1. As it has already been shown, reasonable steps can be taken to ensure our security, without taking away our rights to privacy. Sorry pal, but both federal and provincial privacy commissioners have spoken out against this bill. Privacy Commissioner of Canada Daniel Therrien, appointed by the government less than a year ago and described as an expert by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, slammed the bill in a submission to the Standing Committee on Public Safety: The scale of information sharing being proposed is unprecedented, the scope of the new powers conferred by the Act is excessive, particularly as these powers affect ordinary Canadians, and the safeguards protecting against unreasonable loss of privacy are seriously deficient. While the potential to know virtually everything about everyone may well identify some new threats, the loss of privacy is clearly excessive. All Canadians would be caught in this web. You may be okay with pooping on the Constitution and Charter rights, but I'm not. There is no need to be a cheerleader for everything Harper says or does. These bills being pushed by Harper will give the right to bypass the courts on all surveillance decisions. As a result, they will have legalized a totalitarian dictatorship not unlike that found in East Germany before reunification and in Germany under Hitler. They will have made Democracy nothing more than Orwellian doublespeak; an illusion that lets folks believe they have a say in how their country is governed.
  2. I hope the ICC goes after these animals: Israeli forces open fire on Nabi Saleh weekly protest, injure 6 BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces opened fire on the Nabi Saleh weekly protest on Friday injuring six Palestinian activists, including two with live rounds, an activist group reported Saturday. International Solidarity Movement issued a statement stating that the weekly march met "extreme violence" from Israeli forces, with four people shot "in the first five minutes of the protest." The peaceful protests have increased throughout the years. Israel's violent response to them is one of many examples showing how Israel is not interested in peace and how it's nothing but a fascist state when it comes to those it is occupying.
  3. Yes. Radical Islam (aka terrorism) - They really know how to 'move' people like you. This is how freedom of speech and privacy of people are taken away; through fear. You might as well go live in China, where these types of intrusive laws are common and accepted.
  4. Hamas is a product of the situation Israel put the Palestinians in. Once Israel is forced to follow the law through BDS and world governments pressure, Hamas will have to continue to change their tone or they will be replaced by more moderates. You will have the violence in Africa to turn to, for gratification. For a while anyway.
  5. I'm sure you'll still be able to find videos of atrocities online somewhere to help you with your need.
  6. I don't know about others, but I agree that electing Netanyahu is a good thing. The extremists in Israel will further isolate Israel. European companies are pulling out of business deals with Israel due to their violations of international law. Netanyahu's election is further proof that Israel and Israelis are not a partner for a peace deal. BDS movement will bring Israel to its knees. Sorry BC2004, your lube is going to run dry soon.
  7. I never said the majority of the world will make a decision on the deal. I said majority of the world wants peaceful negotiations, rather than a war. Why are you always on the side of war and destruction? Are you playing off your username?
  8. John Boehner visiting Israel to find out what his foreign policy will be. House Speaker John Boehner is leading a delegation of congressional Republicans to the Middle East this week amid intense international and American partisan debate over a pending nuclear deal with Iran.
  9. Sorry Dick. Majority of the world are in favour of a peaceful end to this. Not more wars.
  10. What part of the world does not? Generally speaking, the majority of the world wants a peace deal. Kind of like how the majority of the world wants a Palestinian State.
  11. For the first time in modern history, negotiations are taking place in which world powers are addressing Iran at eye level - as equals. Khamenei, who has the final say in all matters is on board and has given his blessing to negotiations which has quashed the naysayers in Iran. Netanyahu`s yes-men in U.S. Congress and Senate have done what they could to derail the negotiations in favour of war. Another war that the ultra-right wing Zionists in Israel and the Neo-cons want U.S. to fight on behalf of Israel. However, their efforts have not gone anywhere as evident by the ongoing negotiations and the overwhelmingly majority of Americans who are in favour of a peaceful deal. The entire world wants a nuclear deal. Opposition is limited to Israel, GOP, Saudi and some Iranian hawks. It`s time to break away from the destructive and toxic relationship between the West and Iran that has been led by the stubborn, warmongering extremists and it`s time for the historic deal and for the relationship to heal.
  12. Polls... Here is the latest - Couldn't find a previous post where it was mentioned that the support for the reckless Secret Police Bill C-51 is plummeting. - Mostly because people are learning more about it: Support for the Conservative government's anti-terror bill has dropped dramatically over the past month, a new poll suggests. According to a Forum Research poll released Tuesday, 45% of Canadians approve of Bill C-51 after it's explained to them. Without being told any details of the bill, 38% said they approve. That's a stark drop from February, when an Angus Reid poll found that 82% of Canadians were on board with the bill, which would grant law enforcement broad powers to "disrupt" suspected threats to national security
  13. There was never a question about whether Israel and Iran should be allies. It was about who the U.S. should be allied with; Iran or Saudi and Maher agreed with the simple answer; Iran.
  14. If you think Saudi Arabia would be a better ally than Iran, then you know very little about the Middle East and those two countries. Even that smug, Bill Maher, a self-confessed Zionist and Bibi supporter thinks supporting Saudi over Iran is a bad idea. The top funders of ISIS are from Saudi. So why would you want Saudi as an ally? What's wrong with you?
  15. Most would disagree, including Obama and European countries. Except for maybe France. They have some delicious arms deals with Saudi. Saudi Arabia is the #1 backer of ISIS. Most of the 9/11 attackers came from Saudi and Egypt.
  16. If you are going to respond to only a fraction of what was stated, then only quote that part. Otherwise, respond to the rest.
  17. Put that on your resume! Egypt and Saudi are on your side! Also, lol @ "briefing Israel".
  18. You are very selective when trying to throw one of your ridiculous comparisons at the people. This is more than just lobbying. Israel, first, spied on the U.S. government, then behind the President's back, Bibi set-up a misinformation session in congress, where he twisted the stolen information in order to derail peace negotiations and to get U.S. into another war and to appease the GOP's thirst for Obama bashing. Let me know which other country and country leader has done something like this.
  19. Israel is experiencing the loss of business from European countries. More recently a French firm has pulled out of Jerusalem. France-based utility giant Suez Environment said Wednesday it has decided not to take part in a cable car project linking west and east Jerusalem because of political sensitivities.
  20. Just because the Canadian oil companies/government are lobbying the U.S., it doesn't mean that they are spying on U.S. and then feeding misinformation to the GOP in order to derail a peace process and start a war. No Bush Cheney. It's not the same. You need to make a better effort in not making ridiculous comparisons.
  21. Not the same Bush Cheney.
  22. So no negotiations all around. Because Israel (officially now), does not recognize a Palestinian State. Wait. Likud's platform has been to never allow a Palestinian State. This comment by Bibi is just news to the mainstream. Anyone who has some knowledge beyond the Hasbara noise, knows, through Israel's actions and of course, Likud's platform that the Israeli government has never really been interested in a Palestinian State.
  23. In his last term, nothing good happened with respect to Israelis. Palestinian peace is in shamble. Israeli standard of living has deteriorated. There has been a global rise in antisemitism. What would the next term bring? More of the same? Expanded middle-east wars? A tragedy in the making. I guess the only good thing is the speed in which the governments around the world will reject Israel as a result of public pressure, like they did with Apartheid South Africa (bff's with Israel!)
  24. So you mean kind of like how Israel doesn't negotiate with Hamas because they don't accept Israel?
  25. It's colonization and land theft. It's part of the plan for Greater Israel. This is the reason Israel has never declared its borders. Because they want to continue to expand and take as much as land as possible. Kind of like a virus that's not controlled. Too many people making money from the settlements and too many people making money from the tension and resistance from the Palestinians and from the disproportional Israeli attacks on Palestinians. It's an ugly, rotting system that will continue until the voice from the world becomes too strong. Much like how the world came together to resist Apartheid South Africa.
