Where does this end, I can't keep up with the madness... apparently the OK hand gesture is now a white supremacist hate symbol, who knew eh? What's a civilian ACUC or PADI diver to do now? Not sure about BSAC but I think they use it too. Should we start with burning the training manuals or do we go directly to jailing dive masters? Gasp.... maybe Trump will pardon the offenders, there's a new thread for ya. You go Joe!

IMO you now sound like an extreme version of the people you've been gleefully ridiculing here. Not that I'm accusing you of actually recommending that as a course of action mind you... but you see my point right? This is why peacekeeping missions tend to be challenging, human nature is governing and from what I've seen of the world it's universal. The pivot toward violence can come quickly and be a huge surprise to those who don't read sign... it can also be difficult to extinguish once tit for tat partisan madness kicks in. What you're experiencing now was absolutely predictable, I would inquire as to what you thought was going to happen as you were gleefully pushing your own agenda on others... especially since (from where I sit anyway) you could easily have reaped the benefits of a live and let live philosophy had you simply displayed the discipline it takes not to be intoxicated by the initial gains. Trump is here for a reason and if that reason is considered dispassionately you'l find part of it in the mirror. Once you come to grips with that I predict you'll have no choice but to approach your aspirations with a degree of humility that has been sadly lacking of late. You will (I think) appeal to peoples good nature, sense of fairness, kindness and compassion. It will take a bit of time though and I would urge patience since you violated each and everyone of the principles you will soon be using to redress those problems you created for yourself. So what you've actually done (IMO of course) is to set the stage for a giant political seesaw which will increase in amplitude and effect over time as the parties come and go. Until then, you'll bide your time and respond in the same manner you now vilify... you'll do it at the very first opportunity, and you'll cheer loudly as it happens. And by doing so you'll infuse your political foes with the resolve to respond in kind when it's their hand on the tiller. That's not anything even remotely approaching wisdom speaking BTW, it's sad experience, I'd love you to prove me wrong... but I don't believe for one second that you will.

Terror Cell In San Diego?
Venandi replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Off the terror cell topic to be sure but I have to agree, I think you've made an important observation. I see it at the gym all the time now... it's pervasive. I'm thinking of getting a custom t-shirt made with a picture of someone sitting at a station playing on their smart phone. The top rocker will say "smartphone station." The bottom rocker will read "NO WEIGHTLIFTING" It's the only way people could have believed some of the Demonrat and WH propaganda. My favourite (because it's the most glaring) was bogus claims of there being palpable reductions in crime statistics. The Canadien version of that manipulation was the "domestically sourced crime gun" effort... liberals who favoured draconian gun control legislation parroted those statistics incessantly even though they knew the contortions that went into creating them. They knew that because they designed the yoga program behind the contortions. With the change in US administrations, some of the methodology is starting to come out now. What I find truly fascinating here is that the designers knew exactly what they were doing (and why), but true believers will actually defend the deception as being valid and will resort to the same contortions (that created the deception in the first place) in order to do it. Maybe it's about beng right... or not wanting to be wrong perhaps... I'm not sure. But either way, during the short lived "NS wolf hoax" wolf sitings took off. Here's a good example of what I mean, this is how it's done... no magic in it at all. If I had defunded police departments I would have directed the information management folks to do exactly the same thing: https://www.foxnews.com/us/biden-justice-department-manipulated-crime-data-fit-democrats-narrative-retired-police-officer The results are predictable too... watch, Roboduh will immediately attack the "FOS" source with a few short but inspired sentences ending in duh, Herb will mutter something about the bible and say "FFS, WTF does this have to do with terror cells," and everyone else will immediately punch the like button. -
Are you a man or a woman?
Venandi replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Look how quickly we went from aggressively stuffing this down my throat to tolerance, love, kindness and mercy. That was how you tricked me into supporting the innocuous version of your collective madness in the first place. Treating the people who helped you achieve your goals with contempt and aggression was a huge tactical blunder. Putting things like "duh" at the end of every sentence only served to pi$$ of people (just like me) and create a backlash you NEVER needed to see. There would always have been people who opposed you regardless... but you certainly didn't need to cast as wide a net as you did. Seems like only yesterday there was porn in the classroom, women were getting mowed down on the soccer pitch and if I didn't like it the solution was.... "move to another country duh!" Guess it's my turn to help you pack now eh? Since you like quotes here's one for ya... a wise man once said: “The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose. An evil soul producing holy witness Is like a villain with a smiling cheek, A goodly apple rotten at the heart. O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!” -

A concept entirely lost on Herb, Doggie, and Robo-duh. Perversely, It's actually what makes their input and participation so valuable; it's almost like they're working for the RNC. Listening to these guys is almost as enjoyable as watching the antics of Master Ken... I love this guy, he puts a lot of thought into absurdity too: -

I think it's now reached the point of negative returns though, the more strident the messaging the worse it's being received. Long term liberal voters that I'm acquainted with have had about enough madness. I think they're more disappointed than angry actually but that might just be my sense of it. If I were running the RNC war room my information management folks would be hiring the likes of Herb, Robo and Doggie. The more arrogance and DUHs on display now the better IMO. This would be the time for measured remarks and a tactical withdrawal to the core principles of kindness and tolerance. Utterly lost on these creatures and I see that as a gift... -

These are conversations I never would have expected to have with a sane adult in Canada. History is not going to be kind and In 30 years no one will be defending this. It will be like residential schools and (gasp) eugenics which was a progressive cause celeb at the time... the worst of which wasn't repelled until 1972 if memory serves. Hard to find supporters for that anymore eh? I think bearded men in lipstick mowing down girls on the soccer pitch while progressives clap approvingly from the sidelines will suffer the same fate. On second thought, that eugenics thing might be worth a rethink.... -

OK, guess I missed that sentence.... my answer just went from " hell no" to "no fu^%$#@ way." LOL, there's no agenda eh? -
Are you a man or a woman?
Venandi replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not really, backpedaling on the existence of what many see with their own eyes only serves to make the assertion of an agendas nonexistence all the worse. Moving from shared bathrooms to infiltrating women's sports at all levels of competition wasn't an accident and it wasn't just agenda.... it was beautifully planned and magnificently executed to the point that those who supported the premise you now seem to be espousing feel duped for having supported it in the first place. How did using a toilet morph into men with beards and lipstick setting powerlifting records in the women's category that will stand for decades? So ya, OK, I went along with the "It's just a toilet" thing right up until hulking men started mowing down my granddaughter on the soccer pitch and demanding the right to shower with her in the change room. Now, it appears that you're attempting to walk this back with the very sort of things I was prepared to initially accept in the name of kindness and tolerance. I think the reason that's happening now is that you see politicians rolling up their sleeves with the intent of blackening both of your eyes. LOL I'm speaking figuratively here of course but that's what I think is about to happen to "the trans agenda" you say doesn't exist. And in fairness, if I were you, I'd be asserting the exact same things in the exact same way you are now... unfortunately you left it too late and can't walk this back now. I think you see the writing on the wall and understand that the "agenda" you say never existed was too overreaching and too overbearing for sensible people to allow to continue. I really think you should have taken yes for an answer... I'm pretty moderate (I think) but now all I have to say is "hell no." -

Cool, but that doesn't seem to be happening does it? And it's being defended by intellectual powerhouses like Robo and Herb. Which is good BTW since I want to see a solid backlash happen, the fastest way through this is a$$ pain and pi$$ off factor aimed at the people who initially supported this thinking it wouldn't become totally moronic. Watching Robo put DUH at the end of every sentence is more than I dared hope for. Cool, but that doesn't seem to be happening does it? Even though I appreciate the polite response it solves little for people predisposed to disagree with you. In truth, I was on the fence about all this initially but the toxic combination of absurdity and seeing that absurdity defended (with arrogance) by intellectuals of Robo and Herb calibre has changed all that for me. I want this stomped into the dirt now... and IMO, the quickest way to do that is more absurdity and giving Robo more opportunity and platform to end more sentences with DUH. I don't actually care what he has or hasn't said on this particular subject BTW because there are so many others I have similar feelings about and he plays the role well. Without efforts like that Trump would never have been elected in the US and conservatives wouldn't be poised to make a killing in Canada. All IMO of course but it does seem to be working. Woke and DEI are both getting the regular beatings they deserve now and I hope it continues. -

I don't see too many objecting to general concepts and expressions of tolerance, in fact, I dare say most people don't care. They consider it none of their business, it doesn't affect them. They may roll their eyes.... but generally speaking it's not the problem. The problem is taking tolerance and acceptance to the next level, to a level of manifest absurdity and using innocuous statements like yours (above) as the ladder to do it. It makes people regret having supported your premise in the first place and resolve not to give you another inch because they know you will convert it into yards. Surely you get the idea that people don't want uncut men with beards and lipstick showering next to their daughters and mowing them down on the soccer pitch... don't you? That's what all of this boils down to and another 50 pages won't change this for most people. The spectre of hulking men setting deadlift records in a women's powerlifting event is an open assault on the very kindness and tolerance already extended to your cause... what did you think was going to happen? Did you honestly think there wouldn't be a backlash for trading majority support of a basic principle (rooted in tolerance) into a handful of smelly cheese and rubbing it in peoples faces? This was a tactical blunder of epic proportions IMO and I don't think you will be able to walk back the effects of that smelly cheese with innocuous statements about tolerance and acceptance. All you had to do was not rub that smelly cheese in peoples faces in the first place. The only converts you are likely to get to your side now are (perversely perhaps) people like me who think the electorate need this lesson in absurdity and feel that the quickest way through it is a level of pain sufficient to make overly tolerant, kind hearted voters cry UNCLE at the top of their lungs. Keep up the good work... you're doing great. -

"Body Integrity Dysmorphia" is every bit as real and every bit as traumatic to the person afflicted as the "Gender Dysmorphia" you're currently championing. It's a similar Dysmorphia condition just with different body parts. Your stance on the issue offers no recourse other than deeming it a fallacy or facing the absurdity of your own position. IMO you'd be better off labeling it a mental disorder requiring intervention and treatment. But then (gasp), you know I'd agree with you... right? If I were in your shoes I'd say the same thing and hope it got ignored too. -

A rare genetic disorder, there are about twice as many people who are missing fingers. Should children who identify with the latter group due to Body Integrity dysmorphia be allowed to have fingers amputated? -

Maybe we've been going about this all wrong... Maybe the best way to thwart madness is to agree and encourage it under the guise that radical surgical procedures are preventing these creatures from breeding and that's a net benefit to society. They'll become so offended they'll decide THEY want it stopped just to spite the MAGA hyenas who now favour the idea. -

Venandi replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I did read it... that's why I said: My concern here was never for myself... none of this hurts me a bit and those hard body chicks who think they're gay men are welcome to shower with me anytime. Aggressive males who identify as women are welcome too, I enjoy that kind of interaction. So, when I say none of this hurts me I'm really not kidding. My concern was always for your mother, sister, daughter (etc) in the shower room, or your aunt who's in prison, young women competing in sports, college girls looking for scholarships.... you get the idea right? You may have noticed that people here are pretty rude, I see a lot of that across the board now too... and so be it. My concern for them and their's is at an all time low now because of it and I'm ready to kick Robo and Herb's female kinfolk under the bus... so ya, I'll take the deal. As soon as age is included in this madness and I'm 19 again you get my vote. Sound fair? I'm starting to think that fighting absurdity with absurdity is the only option here and it can be applied to a host of topical issues. As long as Herb and Robo are happy to have their houses surrounded by tinder dry brush piles I'm happy to cut back on fire crew manning and aerial application crew certification training. -

Cool. As soon as I'm 19 again we have a deal. As far as I'm concerned, there was an awful lot of young women leading the trans rights charge and they got exactly what they said they thought they might maybe want... and no longer do. Throwing them under the bus they built seems fair enough to me. In fact, I'd suggest that in biological terms, my ask is pretty small in comparison. As it stands now I'm more than happy to welcome hard body women who identify as gay men into the gym change room... how's that for inclusive eh? Where are they BTW... I'm headed there right now. Got to get ready for that fitness test. -

Venandi replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm inclined to think most people don't care too much about assumed "identities" they care about uncut men in the women's change room... two totally different things. In all but 0.3% of cases, humans of average intelligence should be able to check between their legs and choose the right door. But never mind all that, we'lll get no where with it anyway... my real question is simple enough: if an uncut man can identify as a woman, why can't a retired 67 year old man be able to identify as 19 years old and rejoin the same military he was forced out of at compulsory release age (CRA). I'd like to rejoin. And before you ask, yes, I can easily pass the dumbed down fitness test many currently serving twenty somethings are having problems with. I'll even do the current SOR fitness test for ya,if I pass that can I be 19 again? Dear Santa: Direct entry as a JTAC would be just fine... -
It's even simpler than that IMO, if you need supplementation (topically) then use it. I use it because I need to, the next more potent form (from what I use) is available by prescription only... so it is considered medication depending on concentration. The thing is, I don't expect my neighbour to use it if he doesn't need to... it's not that complicated, it's a topical application.... I don't think we should be putting Preparation H into our water supply simply because Robo needs to gargle with it either.
-
Yet some of them are capable of differentiating between the benefits of topical application and systemic consumption. Not sure why fluoride supplementation is a MAGA vs progressive sparring match but since it is I'll play along: It now appears that fluoridated water turns children into liberals.
