No, he is resigning, the Liberals are holding a leadership convention and there will be a new PM by April whether or not Jagmeet props up the government. He is PM as long as he is PM and fighting among ourselves because we don't like him is self defeating. I don't like him either but the country is more important than any one person.

As I said, I don't discredit the contribution the US made but I am sick of them putting down what others sacrificed to win the war. If Britain and its Commonwealth forces hadn't held out alone, there would be no second front and no winning the war unless the Russians did it. Are you f***ing serious, the Russians lost 20 million people and fought the greater part of the German army. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Barbarossa

With 7 million people, Canada lost more than the US did in Viet Nam. With 11 million in WW2 we had a million in uniform and were in both wars from the beginning. My father was an already in Europe 9 months before Pearl Harbour. I don't discredit what the US did but nor will I take their pompous bullshit.

A nuclear attack ensures a nuclear response. Having only a nuclear response leaves one no other options if attacked. Suicide is not a good defence strategy, or for that matter, offensive strategy. -
Trump lies to the face of the American people
Aristides replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There is a school of thought growing that Trump and his billionaire buddies want to cause a recession. The wealthy usually make out like bandits in a recession, it allows them to gobble up distressed assets on the cheap. -
In the US, money equals free speech. In Canada, corporations and unions are forbidden to make any political contributions and individuals can only donate $1750 to a leadership candidate and &1750 to a individual candidate, per year, https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.6626251

Russia attacked Ukraine because they thought it would be a walkover. -

I disagree, a strong conventional force reduces the likelihood of a nuclear exchange because it discourages aggression in the first place. -

Sweden has a well developed defence industry and builds most of its own stuff. Aircraft, ships, artillery etc. Finland is buying F-35's but most of their equipment is also European sourced, tanks, ships etc.
