Data that only covered a period ending in 2015, heavily Influenced by one shooting in 2011 I'll ask again, how many has the US had in the last 11 years, in the last year, even in this year?
-
Good plan but what good would your gun do other than make you an intentional target of these people. You think that if you pulled a gun they aren't going to aim at you as well. Instead of being a bystander caught in a crossfire, you become an actual target. That should also be obvious.
-
No I didn't, you picked one year 2011. How many mass shootings has the US had in the last 11 years? How many in the last year, or for that matter, this year?
-
Bullshit, You cherry pick one year when Norway had a single shooting that killed 67.
-
In what fantasy do you live? Gun ownership in the US is over 5 times higher than Switzerland.
-
We discussed Switzerland before and it is nothing like the USD Most gun ownership in Switzerland is related to their compulsory military service and maintaining a real, Well Regulated Militia. Per capita gun ownership in Switzerland is much lower than the US 27.6 guns per 100 people vs 120 for the US. Even Canada is higher than Switzerland with 34.7 guns per 100 people. Over a third of Swiss firearms are registered vs 0.2% in the US. You have to show a clear need to carry a firearm in Switzerland https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_regulation_in_Switzerland#Conditions_for_obtaining_a_Carrying_Permit Switzerland also has the highest gun death rate in Western Europe, only Finland in Scandinavia is slightly higher but it also has a higher gun ownership rate than Switzerland at 32.4 guns per 100 people, also the highest ownership rate in Scandinavia.

So are you going to shoot it out with some gang bangers if you happen to get caught in one of their gang related shootouts?
-
Exactly, the government cannot arbitrarily deprive you of your freedom. It has nothing to do with a right to bear arms. If you are convicted of a crime by the justice system, not the government, you may be deprived of your freedom. That's how the law works. Do you have a better idea?
-
Just the kind of place you want everyone to be carrying a gun. Your idea of heaven must be Tombstone in the 1870's.
-
If you have thousands of armed people in the same place, eventually someone will start shooting even if it is by mistake. The places with the most guns have the most shootings. The US firearms homicide rate per 100k pop is 6 times Canada.
-
How is it a hardened target. You hear some shots. When you turn and look you see several people with guns. Which one do you shoot? Even military and police who are trained to recognize a threat occasionally make mistakes. With thousands of armed people in an enclosed arena, eventually some duffus is going to see a threat that doesn't exist and start shooting.
-
Most mass shooters don't expect to survive. If I was a suicidal mass shooter an arena full of armed people would be great. More of them would probably shoot each other than I could possibly kill myself. We had two guys target police in Saanich a couple of weeks ago.
-
Bullshit. If 20K people pull out guns, 90% of them won’t know who the real shooter is. I’m not triggered by guns, I’m not even against them. I’m just not a delusional idiot.
-
How does your plan work? If everyone there is armed and someone starts shooting, are you going to pull out your gun? You better think twice because some other “good guy with a gun” is just as likely to think you are a shooter and take you out. That is the real world.
-
If people are getting guns into them, they aren't gun free. But wouldn't it be great if everyone there had guns and all started shooting. Which one with the gun was the original shooter? The collateral damage possibilities are unlimited. Now the hell could anyone think that 20,000 people in an arena all armed could possibly be a good idea.

A Proposal for Firearms Legislation in Canada

Gang shootings are mostly with handguns. Semi auto handguns like the Glock. Mass shootings of innocent people are mostly with semi auto long guns, not bolt action long guns or handguns. -
There is no such thing as a gun free zone in the country with far more guns than people.

WTF does this have anything to do with the military? What percentage of mass shootings are done with bolt action long guns compared to semi automatic weapons? -

Sure they can. What’s the point of semi auto weapons then? -

So what, once that is done all you have to do is pull the trigger each time. These guys go out can buy an AR-15 and two hours later it is rapid fire against a bunch of people. It can't be that difficult. Nothing they can't learn from a couple of YouTube videos. -

The fact is rapid fire with bolt action requires more co ordinated actions than with a semi auto. Same as the difference between driving with a manual vs automatic transmission. One requires a lot more practice than the other. -
I don’t really care what Americans do, owning a gun is not a right in Canada.

Of course you can miss. AR's have standard 30 round magazines. Also, the guy in your video is using his third finger to pull the trigger. That takes practice.
