Alito's Flag Pole

Get back to me when you can get pregnant, carry a foetus full term with all hat it does to a body and then take the responsibility for that child all on your own. Until then, your opinion is nothing more than a man’s opinion on something he will never have to experience. -

A foetus that can't exist outside a woman's body is not yet a child. In the case of a couple, hopefully it would be a shared decision but ultimately the choice lies with the woman. You don't want equality, you want dominion over someone for something you aren't capable of doing yourself or having to be responsible for the consequences. -

You are the one being dishonest. You can't get pregnant with what it does to a woman's body or have to take responsibility for a child you never wanted or didn't expect. But you do want to control those who do. -

No it doesn't. Pro choice is respecting someone's right to choose. You don't have to agree with that choice. Men have no business assuming what a woman goes through when faced with that choice. There is no way we can understand. -

I don’t have to approve of a woman’s decision, but I’m also not going to impose my beliefs on them when it comes to their bodies. Pro choice doesn’t mean pro abortion. -

Men can’t get pregnant. Obviously you think the only rights that matter belong to men. The abortion bans aren’t about rights, they are about control. -

Equal rights for women regardless of where they live. Yes only women can get pregnant so men should stay the f*ck out of it. -

Yes it is. Instead of all American women having equal rights, they are now at the mercy of state governments. -
It isn't about protecting children, it's about protecting everyones ability to wander around armed. No, I think doing nothing about who gets guns is something the gun crowd can't accept Your federal background check is just a check of a database. Unless a person has been convicted of a federal crime, it depends on data provided by states. If a state doesn't provide the info, it isn't in the data base. If a response isn't received within three days, a dealer can sell the gun, even if it turns out the buyer was a budding Manson. The background check only applies to dealers, there is no record or checks of private sales. Your background checks are nothing but window dressing to make it look like something is being done. Not anti gun, just pro sanity.

Sure, why should all the women in the country have equal rights and control over their own bodies? They are just women. -

That was back when the SCOTUS had some integrity and took its non political role seriously. Just goes to show how far the US system has sunk in the last 50 years. They can't do anything without politicizing it and I'm afraid we are heading in the same direction. They aren't the same as they have now. State laws are all over the map, from complete bans and jail sentences for anyone who gives or gets abortions, even going after them if they go out of state or support a woman who goes out of state, to pro choice states. -
Yes. Arm teachers and turn your schools into fortresses, make your kids go through active shooter drills and be afraid to go to school just so you don't have to change anything. For starters. You could do real background checks instead of the ridiculous window dressing you have now. Anyone who turns up armed at a protest or any other demonstration should be immediately arrested, their firearms confiscated and serve a jail sentence. Unfortunately the the gun lobby is so strong in the US that you will continue to rack up an insane body count for a so called developed country. Your cowboy mentality is your greatest enemy, not the perceived threats you keep dragging up.

Bullshit. The SCOTUS that ruled on Roe vs Wade in 1973 had six Republican appointees including the Chief Justice and only three Democrat appointees. Look it up for yourself. -
Your knee jerk reaction to anyone who favours sensible gun laws is to label them anti gun. Easy peasy, no thinking required. Your so called background checks are a joke. More people packing guns will not make kids safer. Instead, maybe you should ask yourself how your country sank so low as to think you need armed teachers and fortified schools to keep kids safe.

The supreme court interprets the Constitution and Charter. They didn't write those documents. We know you like dictators but who else would you rely on to do it? -

The SCOTUS has been intentionally politicized. That's why only 25% of Americans think it is doing its job. -
I'm not anti gun, just pro sanity. I don't agree with the Trudeau governments policy on guns, I think Canada's laws were already a good compromise between ownership and public safety and didn't need changing The people expressing those phoney thoughts and prayers won't lift a finger to prevent it happening again, and again, and again. That's why they are phoney.

Whether one agrees with the decision or not is irrelevant. The point is, a court was intentionally stacked by politicians to achieve a political goal. That is not what a supreme court is for. Judges like Thomas couldn't do more to destroy the court's credibility if he was actually trying.
