  1. Sure they do. “American Exceptionalism” is the belief that all aspects of American life are infinitely superior to anywhere else and it is one of the America’s core values that’s been drilled into every school child’s head for generations . America’s current societal collapse is partially a reaction to Americans’ growing realization over the past 10-20 years of just how false that idea is.
  2. What children. Who’s talking about children? Nobody in this thread has been talking about children. Enough with your bait-and-switch strawman nonsense already.
  3. On any day in any year COVID or no COVID, its far better to be sick in Canada than sick in the USA ….unless you’re a millionaire of course. Of course Canadians know more about what goes on in Alabama than vice versa. Humans know more about shellfish than shellfish do about humans. Doesn’t mean the shellfish are superior.
  4. This report was last updated on September 3, 2021 with data up to and including August 27, 2021. 52,902,389 Doses administered 3,768 Serious Adverse Events (0.007% of all doses administered) An event is considered serious if it: results in death is life-threatening (an event/reaction in which the patient was at real, rather than hypothetical, risk of death at the time of the event/reaction) requires in-patient hospitalization or prolongation of existing hospitalization results in persistent or significant disability/incapacity, or results in a congenital anomaly/birth defect https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/vaccine-safety/#a2
  5. So now we’re combining causes of death to make covids death toll seem less important? It’s the 3rd largest cause. 7% is a big number. Mandated measures aren’t really that severe, despite what the anti-vax crowd says. Only in our spoiled and overindulged times do these minor inconveniences get compared to the holocaust and crimes against humanity. If only the Greatest Generation that actually was born before most mass vaccinations were available, lived through the Great Depression, and fought against the ACTUAL holocaust and crimes against humanity could see how their descendants are now they would hang their heads in shame over how we react to our supposed “sacrifices”. The few that are still alive today are the most vulnerable to COVID and are the first to be written off as expendable by those who can’t bear to briefly wear a mask in a store or postpone a beach vacation. Shameful.
  6. The money was taken for what you got. If you haven’t noticed, we’ve been living with under a regime of austerity for 40 years where they barely fund what’s needed for todays needs much less maintaining empty surplus ICU wards and school houses decade after decade in case of some hypothetical disease outbreak in the distant future. Also don’t forget that in the US most hospitals are private so what do think they should have been doing and who is to blame?
  7. OMG. Are you serious? Just please reflect on the fact that government imposes speed limits, traffic laws, licensing and insurance reqemts, seatbelt laws, stop signs, traffic lights, vehicle safety standards, etc. THOSE ARE PUBLIC SAFETY RESTRICTIONS IN RESPONSE TO DEATHS- NO DIFFERENT THAN COVID RESTRICTIONS Luckily we didn’t have populist nutjobs back then on the verge of terrorist attacks over having to wear seatbelts like we have now over having to wear masks.
  8. There were “far more”? Got a link for that or just making shit up again?
  9. Cancer and heart disease and accidents are not contagious. The only items on your list that are contagious are Covid-19 and the flu, with COVID being far more contagious and killing nearly twice as many people. Again look the shithole red states where the infected have totally filled up overwhelmed hospitals and ICU wards and are dying in droves, entire schools are repeatedly shutdown due to large outbreaks among students and staff….all this even now more than a year and half into the pandemic when we should already have this under control. But those states are in their worst crisis since the pandemic started. Is that what we should do, fill up our hospitals and constantly shut down entire schools due to constant outbreaks?
  10. Prove that claim please. Got a link?
  11. Officially, if you tally up every death announced by every province and territory, there were 15,606 people killed by the novel coronavirus in this country in 2020 – equivalent to nearly twice the population of Banff, Alta. That number would have represented Canada's third-leading cause of death in any year since the turn of the century, according to Statistics Canada data. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/beta.ctvnews.ca/national/coronavirus/2021/1/5/1_5254420.html
  12. They were addressed to the authorities but you don’t agree with their answer so I’m asking you.
  13. AHAHAHAHA YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE EVEN TALKING ABOUT!!! SHOCKER!! ????? I didn’t cite a “study” for a “date range” …..I gave you the most recent daily stats of current active cases as of Saturday September 5….case counts that are published daily. You didn’t understand the text summary and started acting like an idiot troll so I posted the actual table with the numbers which you’re still too ignorant to even read You think you were reading a “study” for a cherry-picked “date range”. To be dumb means to not know things bit to ignorant means to not WANT to know things, and this is just one example of how you are truly ignorant you didn’t even look at tue source of the statistics much less understand the numbers And the “one more thing” question of yours is basically: “Duuuuh If vaccines work so well explain to me why the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID is infecting mostly unvaccinated people and is the worst in places with the lowest vaccination rates” Duh. It’s a good thing you never earned that high school diploma because right now they’d probably be asking for it back ?
  14. Translation: you got nothing.
  15. That was by no means an exhaustive list. And can’t you please confirm what an acceptable death toll would be in order for you to accept the current health measures? Can you please also confirm which segments of society are expendable? age 65+, people with even minor health conditions or a body mass index over 30, etc? We can allow those people to be exterminated as long as the death toll for us “valuable” people doesn’t go over a certain limit, right?
  16. ….Said every single patient in the psychiatric ward.
  17. You Gotta admit this one sounds like a comedy bit: CURLY: “Why do they keep telling us it’s dangerous when we know its not dangerous?” MOE: “Maybe they secretly know it’s dangerous and aren’t telling us” ?
  18. That’s like saying most car crashes and stabbings are survivable so you shouldn’t mind getting in a car crash or being stabbed. The number of available ICU beds in Alabama is an actual negative number. All the shithole red state hospitals are overwhelmed. Not great news if you’re acting in a car crash or stabbed and need a hospital bed Young healthy people can and do die from COVID-19 is my only point BTW I get a slightly lower percentage of deaths with comorbidity nased on Nov 2020 nd I note that Delta variant is probably going to lower that more. Plus most Americans are overweight and/or have high blood pressure which are technically “comorbidities” right there so don’t forget your stats are misleading. Having a comorbidity or being over age 65 doesn’t mean you deserve to die or are disposable or are already on the brink of death. It just means it was easier for COVID to kill you.
  19. Though young and healthy, unvaccinated father dies of COVID MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Healthy and in their 30s, Christina and Josh Tidmore figured they were low-risk for COVID-19. With conflicting viewpoints about whether to get vaccinated against the virus filling their social media feeds and social circles, they decided to wait. On July 20, Josh came home from work with a slight cough initially thought to be sinus trouble. On Aug. 11, he died of COVID-19 at a north Alabama hospital as Christina Tidmore witnessed a doctor and her team frantically try to resuscitate her husband. … “Josh was completely healthy, active, not a smoker.” He would have turned 37 on Saturday. Doctors say they are seeing a spike in cases among young adults and children as the highly contagious delta variant sweeps through unvaccinated populations. Medical officials say there is conflicting information on whether it makes people more severely ill or whether young people are more vulnerable to it, but it’s clear the contagiousness means more young people and children are getting sick. “There is no question that the average age of people who are being hospitalized is going down,” State Health Officer Scott Harris said Friday…. https://apnews.com/article/health-coronavirus-pandemic-32b7763e53ec1c77b18e842a264ecb03 LA man who mocked Covid-19 vaccines dies of virus Stephen Harmon, a member of the Hillsong megachurch, had been a vocal opponent of vaccines, making a series of jokes about not having the vaccine. "Got 99 problems but a vax ain't one," the 34-year-old tweeted to his 7,000 followers in June. He was treated for pneumonia and Covid-19 in a hospital outside Los Angeles, where he died on Wednesday. In the days leading up to his death, Mr Harmon documented his fight to stay alive, posting pictures of himself in his hospital bed. "Please pray y'all, they really want to intubate me and put me on a ventilator," he said. In his final tweet on Wednesday, Mr Harmon said he had decided to go under intubation. "Don't know when I'll wake up, please pray," he wrote. Despite his struggle with the virus, Mr Harmon still said he would reject being jabbed, saying his religious faith would protect him.….. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57958358 A mom of 4 who died of covid days after her husband makes one final wish: ‘Make sure my kids get vaccinated’ Out of options, the Galveston, Tex., mother of four, asked her family to make a promise: “Please make sure my kids get vaccinated,” Rodriguez, a piano teacher, told her sister during their last phone call. Rodriguez died Monday — two weeks after her husband, Lawrence Rodriguez, 49, also died after coronavirus complications. The couple fought the virus from hospital beds just a few feet from one another in a Texas intensive care unit, Jones said.…. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/08/18/texas-couple-declined-covid-19-vaccine-died-orphans/ Fitness enthusiast, 42, who rejected vaccine, dies of Covid Sarah Marsh A “fit and healthy” 42-year-old who loved climbing mountains and lifting weights has died of Covid-19 after refusing to get vaccinated, leaving his twin sister and mother heartbroken. The two women warned others not to think they are invulnerable to the dangers of the virus. The father of one, John Eyers, a construction expert from Southport in Merseyside, was described by his sister Jenny McCann as “the fittest, healthiest person I know”. She added that her brother had been climbing Welsh mountains and camping in the wild four weeks before his death. But he was left in intensive care after catching coronavirus, and told his consultant before he was ventilated that he wished he had been vaccinated. His twin said his death was “a tragedy”. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/04/fit-and-healthy-man-42-from-southport-who-rejected-vaccine-dies-of-covid A Texas GOP leader railed against vaccines and masks. Then he died of covid. Jonathan EdwardsAugust 5, 2021 at 7:04 a.m. EDT The month before, Apley had responded to what Baltimore’s former health commissioner was heralding as “great news” — clinical trials showed that the Pfizer vaccine was effective at fighting the coronavirus, including one of the recent variants, for at least six months. “You are an absolute enemy of a free people,” Apley wrote in a Twitter reply. And on Friday, the 45-year-old Dickinson City Council member republished a Facebook post implying that vaccines don’t work. Two days later, Apley was admitted to a Galveston hospital with “pneumonia-like symptoms” and tested positive for coronavirus, according to an online fundraising campaign. He was sedated and put on a ventilator. On Wednesday, he died, members of his county’s party announced on social media. Patrick McGinnis, chairman of the Galveston County Republican Party, said in a statement that Apley’s death was a “tragedy … magnified by his youth, his young family especially his very young son.”… https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/08/05/texas-gop-leader-antimask-antivax-dies-covid/ Young, unvaccinated COVID patients are dying in Acadiana: 'We're stuck in this nightmare' A 24-year-old Lafayette nurse and a 30-year-old Eunice pastor died over the weekend after seeking hospital treatment for COVID-19, according to social media posts from friends and family. Their untimely deaths have highlighted Acadiana's divide over coronavirus vaccines, sparked lively debates and raised important questions at a time when their loved ones are still grieving. "This is now the face of what we are seeing in our community," Dr. Britni Hebert, a Lafayette internal medicine physician, said in a Monday interview. "And that is no longer the 70- and 80-year-old grandparents that are suffering and dying from COVID. These are 23-year-olds. They're 15-year-olds. They're 35-year-olds. They're young parents. "They are people with decades left to give to their life, their family, their community. That is an unspeakable loss, and it was preventable."..,, https://www.theadvocate.com/acadiana/news/coronavirus/article_c4f70fb6-e3de-11eb-95a5-cb7b3f1edb55.html Texas man who led anti-mask protests in name of ‘freedom’ dies of Covid-19 A man who led efforts in his central Texas community against mask-wearing and other preventative measures during the coronavirus pandemic has died from Covid-19, a month after being admitted to the emergency room. Caleb Wallace died on Saturday, his wife Jessica Wallace said on a GoFundMe page where she posted updates on his condition, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported. He was 30 years old and a father of three. His wife is pregnant with their fourth child. “Caleb has peacefully passed on,” Jessica Wallace wrote. “He will forever live in our hearts and minds.” On 4 July 2020, Caleb Wallace helped organize the Freedom Rally in San Angelo. People at the event carried signs that criticized the wearing of masks, business closures, the science behind Covid-19 and liberal media….. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/29/texas-caleb-wallace-anti-mask-protests-freedom-dies-covid-19
  20. FYI that means that 23% of the infected people were dbl vaxxed.... and 77% were....WTF were they? Can you tell us all without making guesses or assumptions? No, you can't, so you just posted pure horseshit and you still have no fucking clue, even after you had it spelled out for you. So instead of owning it and trying to post something else that was useful, you resorted to throwing a tantrum. FYI, Moderna will definitely consider you "unvaccinated" if you have one of their shots plus a Pfizer. So will Pfizer. If you get two Moderna shots, but they're twice as far apart as is recommended, they might still consider you unvaxxed, and a lot of Canadians are in that exact boat. So "individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status" is just a completely worthless 'stat'. If you get this one wrong again you're just a complete idiot. FFS you are one of the dumbest amd most ignorant people I’ve met on the internet and that’s saying a lot! Dumb as in you don’t know much. Ignorant as in you insist on not knowing much. You’re trying to nit-pick amd refusing to read. I copied and pasted the first line only but underestimated what an ignorant troll you are. The colourful pie charts and simple labels in the link I provided clearly spell out howmay vaccinated and unvaccinated cases thwre are, how many are in the hospital and how many are in ICU. You don’t have to “go find it” it’s right there for even a higher school dropout to read amd understand. I think you know that amd that’s why you’re refusing to look or at least pretending to. It doesn’t paste easily into this chat I get it I get. People like you don’t have the attention span necessary to read or understand that’s why you dropped out of school. And desperate losers like yourself will use any excuse to avoid facing the truth. So I will chew your food and spit it in your mouth for you: Full Vaccination doesn’t guarantee you will be 100% immune nobody said that. it greatly reduces your chances of infection and if you are infected it greatly reduces your chances of serious health issues and hospitalization. That’s just a fact tour ignorant ass will have to accept https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data Last updated: September 5, 2021 at 10:28 a.m. (EST) In ICU Unvaccinated 102 Partially vaccinated 7 Fully vaccinated 12 In hospital but not the ICU Unvaccinated. 148 Partially vaccinated. 16 Fully vaccinated. 32 COVID-19 cases by vaccination status Unvaccinated. 482 Partially vaccinated 98 Fully vaccinated. 198 Vaccination status unknown. 63
  21. No shit. These are actually 2 correct statements from you. False. It happened and HCQ failed. Or more accurately, no OTHER scientists could find positive results when attemting to duplicate the one “promising” study. Hey moron for the hundredth time there was nothing wrong with scientists researching HCQ or aspirin or the fucking Q-ray bracelet for that matter and publishing their early results. DO YOU GET IT? What a high-school dropout like yourself CLEARLY can’t understand is that it’s a VERY LONG ROAD from one scientist conducting a limited study and publishing their results, to where those results are confirmed to be true. Namely, other scientists have to be able to follow your method with different test subjects and achieve the same results, ruling out other possible causes of those results and that’s why HCQ was not a “promising research” when Trump promoted it. Do you mot now how many hundreds of drugs and therapies were being researched bu hundreds of scientists at that time? HCQ was no more more promising that any others but somehow it’s the one Trump stumbled upon and made a pillar of belief among his mindless cult following. Now they’re into horse dewormer. Please tell me about that one. HCQ failed. It’s a fact of history not a conspiracy. And that part is perfectly finely. Failure and ruling things out is part of the scientific process. Intelligent people understand science is not like the movies where some brilliant genius finds a miracle cure on his first try. Science is dozens or even hundreds of scientists trying and failing until someone carefully studies and all the mistakes that occurred before and fails repeatedly himself and finally finds the answer that other scientists accept. Regarding COVID, HCQ was one of the many failures. The only thing outrageous is an idiotic president who had no business promoting any “promising research” because that is the job of scientists not politicians
  22. Democrats claims of various Republican underhandedness and “legal cheating” are wholly different from Trumps false, completely baseless and evidence-fee claims of systemic fraud and vast conspiracy that suggests the entire US system of democracy leaders is a third-world style rigged sham election. Nothing at all unusual about that at all. Total votes nationwide doesn’t meant winning more seats. That happens sometimes. But it happens now more often since the Great Republican Gerrymander of 2010 that specifically aimed to create more Republican seats by favourably redrawing voting districts in red states. Which Democrats say that? REMEMBER we’re fast approaching a year after the election and still nobody has produced even a shred of evidence suggesting there was even a SLIGHT increase in the amount of fraud beyond the usual isolated crackpots acting on their own (most of which happened to be for Trump in 2020 BTW), much less on the impossibly grandiose scale needed to rig the entire election
  23. No you cut it down to snotty insults with your childish post copying my last argument that you can’t rebut. I don’t think you’ve deterred anyone. You’ve just shown what it looks like when an ignorant uneducated cult follower like yourself gets totally owned by someone with actual intelligence
